About The Pig & Whistle
A pint-sized neighbourhood bistro & charcuterie bar.
Serving tapas, small plates, cured meat & hot alpine ski dishes. Wine, sherry, ales & porters
Excellent as ever!
The food, especially the range of cheeses, was exceptional both in quality and presentation.
Had a great time here, I would highly recommend coming here
Fabulous Friday evening. Great atmosphere and service. Particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood- oysters, hot juicy shell on prawns & octopus dishes. Great new draft Estrella Galicia beer and matching wines to accompany. You can eat and drink as much or as little as you want. We went for the much option. The Good Food Guide got it spot on putting this pint sized Bistro in the Local Gem category. Highly recommend- there's no other place like it.
Excellent food great menu with something for everyone. Love it
This was our second visit and we were extremely impressed once again with the quality of food and the service. The waiting staff were helpful when dealing with my dairy allergy and as the food is fresh and unprocessed there was still many things on the menu for me to eat.
Love everything about the food wine friendly service and value for money. Faultless.
We had the Easter Monday menu. The highest quality food simply but beautifully presented. Perfect combination of toasted walnuts and ham, tender lamb and crunchy carrots, smooth and delicious chocolate mousse. A delightful meal.
Tasty food, great choices, delicious and inexpensive wine. Great puddings. A very nice evening altogether. Our second visit, with many more to come.
Interesting choices of food. Cosy restaurant. Delicious main course. Expensive wines. Service slowed off a bit at the end. Ginger beer was the tiniest bottle ever. Overall, enjoyed it.
Wonderful evening at P&W. The ‘celebration of wild garlic’ made for a fantastic menu. My favourite haunt in Beverley!
Excellent Service and Great Food.
Brilliant evening, amazing food
The food and wine were excellent but on the evening we visited the staff were a bit preoccupied with the Sommelier who himself didn’t contribute as much to the evening as I expected. We love the usual atmosphere in there so will definitely be back
great food, no other customers except 2 on a ~sunday evening so atmosphere not great and could hear fridge by toilet whirring. Food excellent quality but cheese and game keepers terrine could have been room temperature to help taste. Perhaps have a cooked special that changes to encourage a re visit rather than assembling excellent ingredients. House red and offer good value.
Fantastic new year’s eve spent there
NYE to remember 🍸😄
We had the specials board game terrine and pheasant dishes and they were absolutely delicious.
Had a wonderful visit, the food and drinks we had were top class. A special mention to go to the waitresses who were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was fantastic and buzzing.
Really enjoyable evening. The perfect setting to chat and enjoy food designed for picking at and sharing. Intimate and cosy setting. Will definitely be back
The Sunday Supper was extremely reasonable, the atmosphere was calm and unrushed; the service polite and unobtrusive. Less than £50 for a meal, wine and sides for 2.
Everything was very lovely. The tiramisu was cream just cream. It's a shame we should taste coffee coming throught otherwise great little restaurant. Thank you
Dinner for 5 with a twist. Just how we like it. An interactive meal with a Mediterranean feel. Could have been in Madrid or Florence. The food and wine was excellent and so was the service. Will be back soon.
