About The Pig & Whistle
A pint-sized neighbourhood bistro & charcuterie bar.
Serving small plates, cured meat & cheese.
Purveyor of fine wines, exquisite ales & spirits.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit, a pre-theatre early dinner of charcuterie and cheese sharing plate. We come from the South Bank and have already booked our return visit with friends. Happy to do a 60 mile round trip for this type of taste experience. How refreshing to find a bistro that focuses on taste, taste, taste with excellent ingredients and not volume.
Charmless empty cafe. Mean sharing platter. No olives , padron chillies, caper berries, dried tomatoes or anything. Nice bread and wine though. Sad.
Excellent cocktails, food and wine. My new favourite place in Beverley.
Interesting new bistro.Great house aperitif, good soup , good oysters , potatoes should have been sliced thinly in tartiflette+raclette...cured meats always good
I marked Down a little on service as one of the waitresses kept dropping cutlery- 6 times! This may be a disservice as she could be new??
We visited this lovely small bistro with friends on a Friday night and had a great experience. We rebooked mid week for a birthday meal and the food and service were just as good but it was very quiet which was a shame. That said, there are still lots of things on the menu that i'd like to try so will book again when the weather improves and more people around.
Amazing and good value. Very knowledgeable members of staff.
Beautiful food, and a lovely experience - We felt like we were in a European Bistro, instead of Beverley!
Really enjoyed our last two meals there with great food and excellent service
Delicious food. Friendly staff who made our special anniversary celebration extra special! Highly recommend.
We have dined here around 5 times since it has opened and unfortunately as often happens service and quality had decreased significantly on our visit last night. The servers all appeared to be new except one and were all inept at opening a bottle of wine. There was a continuous background noise of plates and glasses bashing together giving a feeling of disorganisation. The boeuf bourguignone was stringy and thin but surprisingly popular. When we were asked if we wanted some dessert we said we might have a cheese board and then one appeared without us being able to pick our own cheeses. I am hoping this was just a bad night for them but I will need a while to forget about last nights meal before I return again.
Fantastic find, like being in Paris rather than Sow Hill in Beverley! Been here several times with various friends from all over who are always knocked out by the place. As one of them (who eats out a LOT) said "In London sharing plates have got boring, but this place is amazing!". Great service, superb food and drink. Stay for a quick brunch or laze for a couple of hours. Always something good on the record player and if you don't like it, they let you change it! Small, but perfectly formed, restaurant.
Very nice for Beverley to have a restaurant like this
Our first visit and we were very impressed. We will definitely be back!
Fabulous night. Lovely , attentive staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Thank you.
Lovely meal and great value
4th/5th visit. Unique dining experience in Beverley and we have plenty of choices. Food always good, had wine and flights of port and gin after superb beef bourginon. Relaxed evening, not too crowded but pleasant and easygoing
Great time - took Mum out for birthday dinner and really loved it. 2nd trip and will definitely go again.
Great place for a quick bite or more. Friendly and helpful staff, and food is well presented and very tasty. A great place to stay for 30mins or 2 hours.
Complete little gem. Lovely food, attentive team & a cosy atmosphere. Nothing else quite like it in Beverley
The food was delicious, and the waitress was more than knowledgeable about the various meats, cheeses and accompaniments. Will definitely be going back again.
Lovely tasty food. Scallops delicious. Tartiflette and raclette also delicious as was the sour dough bread. Felt wine was overpriced. £12 for a glass is too much.
Amazing food, excellent service, great atmosphere! Our favourite place to eat in Beverley. Thanks for a lovely evening.
We love eating at the Pig and Whistle and always reccommend it to friends and visitors. Staff are always willing to stop and talk about the cheeses and cured meats. Many new varieties and the house wines are always excellent,
On arrival, we were told we had to ‘give’ the table back by 7.45pm which made our meal feel rushed. We didn’t order starters or desserts for fear of running over and we were only just finished on time. I wasn’t aware of this when I booked and it spoilt an otherwise lovely experience. Food was lovely though.
