About The Pig & Whistle
A pint-sized neighbourhood bistro & charcuterie bar.
Serving tapas, small plates, cured meat & hot alpine ski dishes. Wine, sherry, ales & porters
We enjoyed the Tuesday Tapas deal, the food was outstanding and excellent value for money
Lovely food and a very pleasant evening
Lovely food and service
Another great evening at the Pig & Whistle. Would definitely recommend the Tapas on a Tuesday night.
This was our second visit (to return was at least half the reason to come back to Beverley). We weren’t disappointed- we love the food, the service and ambience.
Great food, great service, great place - try it out if you haven't been!
A very mixed experience on valentines evening. The food was absolutely fantastic but the front of house service was sadly very poor. To give credit to the waiting staff there seemed to be a general organisational issue as most tables seem to have arrived around the same time. The attention of the service staff also appeared to be directed primarily at the bar area when we arrived. It took 25 minutes to get a drink and following an apparent admin error our starters didn’t arrive till 90 minutes after we arrived. In all it took almost 3 hours for 3 courses and at one point the staff had to come round and check what courses tables had had which did not give a great impression. This was a disappointing overall experience for our first visit, especially considering the quality of the food. It was reminiscent of the Michel Roux Jr quote about great food being reliant upon great service. Unfortunately this experience makes a return visit soon unlikely despite the quality of the food.
Really great restaurant with a fantastic menu! Always fabulous here
Great evening had by us all. Loved the food and drinks. Will be back!
Unfortunately we had to leave before ordering as the noise level in the restaurant was far too high. We couldn’t hear each other even across a small table. This was due to large groups and 3 people talking whilst queuing for the loo right next to our table.
Food was fantastic!! We love sharing the tapas and small dishes as you get to taste so much. Excellent atmosphere and service with a great wine selection!
First class food and service. Shall return.
A most enjoyable meal with excellent, imaginative food and great flavours as always. Our restaurant of first choice in Beverley.
Excellent food and service
excellent quality of food and wine
As always a great night with great food & excellent service by very helpful staff.
Always a good menu with plenty to choose from. Lovely bistro which never disappoints
Very average food, not what I was expecting at all. Extremely disappointing
Very enjoyable lunch
Delicious food, great service. This is a small dining space, tables are rather close so if you’re wanting privacy this isn’t the best place, however it didn’t spoil my experience.
Lovely little restaurant only small criticism the staff could be a bit more knowledgable of the food and wine.
Great place. Lovely food.
Excellent food with lovely service
Fantastic evening in really ambient surroundings. The food was absolutely delicious, like a little piece of rural France has been brought to Beverley. Thank you for a great meal.
The staff put on 'Abbey Road' on a record player - not seen one of those in years so being of a certain age and knowing all the words we could sing along to tapas! It was delightful and the steak cut like butter with a lovely Spanish sauce and peppers as savoury accompaniments. Wonderful sherry to go with smoked almonds so we felt in a bar in Seville
