About The Pig & Whistle
A pint-sized neighbourhood bistro & tapas bar.
Swine & dine.
Great food and really interesting menu. Will definitely return
We popped in on Sunday. Excellent service as always with our snacks and drinks arriving quickly after we ordered. The lapin à la moutarde (rabbit cooked in mustard) was delicious and great value for money with wine for a tenner.
First here, amazing food and an amazing offer in the "Spritz & a Snack" offer.
We'll definitely be back - the food was fabulous. Thank you!
First visit.....I was welcomed when I walked in and shown to my table. We were served by a lovely young lady but she had very limited knowledge about the menu and wasnt very helpful. The next table were served by a young chap who went through the menu with them in detail. We really wish we had him to talk us through the menu. As a result, we dont think we ordered the right combination of food. Would I return, yes. However, the waiting staff / front of house are really important to the business and I think this needs bringing to the attention of the owners.
Our first visit to the pig and whistle and it wont be the last ,excellent service and a very enjoyable experience.
Tuesday Steak Night!!! Amazing value, excellent food, lovely service from an extremely pleasant young lady and comfortable/relaxing restaurant! Thank you, we will be back!
Very quirky little place. The food was of a good quality but portion size was far too small. The group in the bar area were quite loud and I couldn’t even hear the waitress for them. The menu was difficult to understand and poorly set out. Staff were good, all guidelines were adhered to and it was spotless.
I've only put Service at 2 stars because it took 35 minutes for food to arrive - we were all at the table by 1.20, food arrived 1.55. Waitresses did their best with regular checks on drinks. The site doesn't have great character - if you get the chance of a more intimate venue suggest you take it. Otherwise - delicious food, good value, waitresses attentive. Would have been a customer bonding touch to have the chef come by - maybe it was his day off. Have already recommended to friends.
First visit.... very good service and nice food.
The Pig & Whistle is superb! If you’ve not been- try it, you won’t be disappointed. Superb food & drink. Best place in Beverley! 10/10 Thank you
beautifully executed tapas in a rustic venue . nice ambience and food was full of flavour and very good value considering the quality. just a little slow on the food coming out , waited over half an hour but overall fabulous!
Absolutely brilliant. Food and staff great as usual!
Our meal was delicious and we felt very safe whilst in the bistro.
Very impressed. Great food in a nice atmosphere
Service, food and drink all 5 🌟 Hope to return soon Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed out lunch with you. Great food and drink and great service too.
The food was absolutely delicious! P&W is small but perfectly formed, and the measures they’ve put in place to ensure Covid security are very reassuring without changing the lovely atmosphere. We’ll be back again in a heartbeat!
Another excellent meal at the P&W. Can't fault it...
Fantastic Ingredients, Fantastic Food, Fantastic Atmosphere, Fantastic Staff. Will be back very soon!
It was lovely to be back at The Pig and whistle, which was quiet as we went early evening. We ordered a selection of tapas and a couple of drinks, but then there seemed to be a mix up with the menus we had been given. Eventually the waitresses figured out we had been given the wrong menus and sorted it out but we waited half an hour for our drinks! Once the drinks came and then the food we had a lovely evening . Great tapas and lovely Creme brûlée’s . When we left there was a real buzz in the place. Definitely will be back.
Really enjoyed our Alpine Bistro sharing plate. Though I had agreed to sit at the bar as we were near the till I and people paying I was bit nervous about the Covid exposure and asked if we could be moved. The server was very understanding and shortly after found us a space at a table.
The meal, as always, was an absolute delight. We particularly enjoyed the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce, which was a special that evening, though the regular stars of the menu continued to hold their own; the seafood should not be missed and the padron peppers are a must-order. We loved the whole experience which was made infinitely better by the attentive team of staff who saw to our every need. Cannot wait to return and support what is swiftly becoming our favourite spot in Beverley.
Good atmosphere despite the social distancing. Excellent tapas - it really did feel like a corner of Spain in the middle of Beverley!
