About The Parrot
PLEASE CALL US TO BOOK A TABLE IF YOU ARE BRINGING DOGS WITH YOU. THANK YOU
FOR PARTIES OVER 8 PEOPLE, PLEASE CALL US TO MAKE YOUR BOOKING.
Dating back to the 16th Century, The Parrot certainly has a lot of history. With its exposed solid oak beams, open fire, wonky walls and low ceilings, it oozes charm and character.
Cosy up in the snug and bar and warm up by the log fire during the colder months or find a bench in the private walled garden for a game of boules on one of the pistes in the beer garden.
The Parrot is the perfect place for a romantic meal tucked away from everybody but equally as tempting for a family celebration.
With a menu consisting of the best that Suffolk has to offer, with the changing seasons you will find that there is something for everybody's taste. The restaurant is bright and airy with decor boasting antique clocks and a wooden floor.
On the bar you will find the best local ales from just up the road in Southwold. Not only do Adnams offer great ales but also awards winning spirits that compliment The Parrot's ever-growing list of gins, rums, whiskeys and vodkas. If wine is more your thing then order from the eclectic selection on the wine menu.
The Parrot boasts a walled garden, which has a sizeable gazebo in which private parties for up to 40 people can be catered for during the summer.
There is a large car park to the rear and the pub is dog-friendly too - just make sure you call ahead to let them know that are bringing your four-legged friend.
Really superb. I had the bravette steak. Never had one before. Excellent. My wife really enjoyed the pork. Our first visit. Will certainly not be our last.
Lovely meal and great service as always
It was a joy for five of us to eat at the Parrot. There were only two staff members on duty serving 27 customers, but somehow (magically) they were always around with time to respond to us and a welcoming and friendly manner. They cooperated well with each other and delivered our food hot and in a timely way. Local scallops were an excellent starter (though why was the coral removed?) and we had lamb and pork as our main courses, all very satisfactory. Good wine selection.
Great food, atmosphere and service Very tasty vegetarian options and caters for gluten free diet
Very popular pub, great food at a good price. Bit of a wait for food, but all freshly cooked so worth the wait.
Great food and nice location!
We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Parrot. The food and service were excellent and we weren't rushed at all.
Visit the Parrot and Punchbowl fairly frequently. Our last visit was good but not great. It was very busy and service was friendly but a bit slow - food took ages to come out. I enjoyed my dish but thought my friend’s risotto was a bit bland and over cooked. We didn’t have time for pudding as we were on a schedule which was a shame. We will go back but I think ‘safe’ menu choices are a better bet.
Best meal we have had for a long time, excellent we both managed 3 courses. Will certainly return
Very nice pub restaurant
Delicious Sunday Roast and friendly service, as always.
Burgers great, pork tenderloin average. Really great staff/service
Another very good meal in our local pub.
We had a fabulous evening at The Parrot & have already booked to return! The staff were extremely efficient, friendly and accommodating- especially Alice. We were very impressed with the excellent standard of food; highly recommend the mac’n cheese burger & the lamb. The chocolate brownie & sorbets were to die for.... can’t wait u til our next visit - later this week!!
Fantastic meal and service. We were visiting the area and had a wonderful dinner.
Excellent service by young, enthusiastic and friendly staff. Sunday lunch (lamb and beef) both delicious. Desserts were all delightful too. We will definitely be returning. Only downside, as the pub is so popular we only had 90 minutes at our table - 120 minutes would be nicer.
Staff were very polite and friendly. Food was excellent. We do not live locally as we were on holiday but would recommend the Parrot to anyone visiting the area.
We were meeting friends that we had not seen in years and appreciated the relaxed but friendly service whilst we caught-up on all times
Fabulous food, our pick of the bunch after eating out several times during a week staying in the local area. The decor is a bit tired and chairs not the best but the food and friendly team more than make up for this. And no fuss when it came to ordering a wheat and dairy free meal either. Thank you!
We called for lunch- a varied & interesting modestly priced menu & enjoyed our meal, nice range of beers too- give it a try!
We have been camping at Applefields in Leiston and googled a local pub, luckily The Parrot was our choice. Great service, felt very welcome. 3 Adults and two children we all enjoyed our food and Dad said the beer was good.
Fantastic food at great prices. We sat outside to soak up the sunshine amongst the flowers.
Great service from a very friendly team
An excellent meal with a very friendly and attentive staff
