About The Park Royal - Topiary in the Park
Food is something we take very seriously at The Park Royal. Whether dining in one of our banqueting suites, our stylish restaurant Topiary in the Park or relaxing in the Lounge bar, our menus are filled with inspiring dishes created with passion and flair.
Our team of chefs work hard to create seasonal dishes, using locally sourced produce where possible, to suit every palate.
Topiary in the Park is a stylish setting in which to enjoy dinner with friends, family and colleagues. The menu contains many classic dishes each with a contemporary twist to create a taste sensation.
Food was nice but if your a bit of a fussy eater and don't want certain things on your plate its tough, the food only comes as listed on the menu, no variations allowed. I would have understood this if it was busy.
We booked an overnight stay spa deal for our wedding anniversary. We cant praise the staff enough. From when we booked in to when we left, everyone was friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay at Park Royal Hotel. We will definitely visit again.
Having stayed in this hotel the past 4 years I honestly have to say this was not the best experience.
Fabulous 60th birthday treat, now wanting to book again which I hope to do soon. Strongly recommend.
We ate in the Topiary and found the service attentive and the food excellent - well done kitchen staff. The choice was not huge, but what was on offer was tasty and the portion size just right. The atmosphere was average, as the restaurant has to double up as a breakfast buffet, so what can you expect really. The prices are a little stiff, if I am honest - £70 for 2 people, 2 courses and a round of drinks, plus another 10% on top for service. I was on a deal with the hotel which gave us a restaurant allowance so would not have eaten here without it as there are a couple of excellent pub restaurants within 10 minutes walk. 3 and a half stars out of five.
We had a lovely meal however we feel the website menus were misleading. There were dairy free and gluten free menus on the webpage for eg and we expected we would be presented with them when we arrived, that is why we chose to dine with this hotel. However we were given the allergens list and had to look things up ourselves, then having picked things that were ok the waitress had to keep coming back to say ... there's butter in the puree or there's butter in the fondant. So in that respect we were disappointed. Our waitress Sam was extremely helpful and we would really like to thank her for all her help.
The perfect venue for a special treat
Service excellent, food lovely just need attention to detail re cleanliness.
My sister and I recently stayed for a spa break and had an evening meal, breakfast and lunch in the Topiary. The whole experience was fantastic, we was made very welcome by Ozzie and Franco. The quality and choice of food was excellent and we would definitely stay again. Thank You
Quality of food and service was excellent as was the rest of the hotel.
Wish you could rate The Park Royal more than 5 stars. Food was excellent and so was the service by all of the staff especially Jamie who was very professional and polite. It makes me more excited to be getting married here next year after experiencing the food from the Topiary restaurant. Can't wait to come back again.
Excellent service provided by Harriet, Franco and Sol.
Have been coming for last 5 years to visit family. This was the best meal we have had, well done to the chef and keep it up. Had the beef cheeks and whole plaice during our stay and it was so good. Sauces subtle and delicious.
Our party had a wonderful time. It was my friends birthday and she found a little treat in her room from the staff. This made her day. All staff were so friendly, helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were excellent. The spa were lovely. The restaurant staff were were full of fun and again nothing was too much trouble. Franco really looked after our party and was extremely professional. I do believe everyone had a wonderful time and the majority of us will be booking again. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff, they made our nights stay easy and fun.
Absolutely wonderful! We chose the Park Royal at random because we wanted a hotel in that area where we could bring the whole family (aged from 1 year to 87!) and our dog too. And we could not have picked a better hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we had a marvellous time celebrating a special birthday together. Cannot praise this hotel too highly: food was oustanding, rooms were really good, the pool and spa were great (if a little crowded) and the staff were fantastic. Thankyou all for everything.
service was good, staff were very professional and friendly.
The staff were excellent and I should like to comment in particular on Amy from Reception and Rebecca Pendlebury from the Restaurant who were both Outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The room was nice and spacious. My only quibble and it is a small one is that the rump steak we had was not the best quality. I have never had a rump steak with so much gristle before.
We had an excellent stay. Being members of the Breakaway club we have visited number of QHotels and this visit was certainly one of the best we have enjoyed.
Ozzie is a credit to the park royal, he is so happy and welcoming he made me feel happy also!
Would of liked to have had our room early than 3. Cocktails could of been served later . But really enjoyed the stay, thanks
Efficient service and food tasted fantastic!
Upon arrival we were directed to the spa area where we collected our robes/slippers. We then enjoyed a lovely lunch, Franco, our lovely waiter, encouraged us to try the desserts insisting we wouldn't be disappointed and we weren't! From here we enjoyed our spa and the facilities. Later in the afternoon we collected our keys to our upgraded rooms. We were a group of 6 spread over 3 rooms. Our upgraded rooms were supposed to come with robes - which they didn't. We were advised none could be provided until the following morning on day of departure. According to management the difference between an upgraded room is the robes, the shampoo and shower gel bottles are slightly (a few mls) bigger, the refreshments include herbal tea on top of the normal tea and coffee and two bottles of water. The difference for this was £25 per room. In one of our friends rooms they opened a drawer attached to the dresser and the leg fell off. In the evening we enjoyed lovely meals and desserts. Again we saw Franco who looked after us. A genuinely nice man. In the night it was warm in our room. There was a thermostat but it wouldn't allow us to change the temp. It was something the hotel would have to do centrally. We arrived in the morning for breakfast. A fab selection awaited us and delicious! Afterwards, we proceeded to the reception to discuss our disappointment with what you get for an upgraded room. The team at the desk refunded the difference between a standard and upgraded room. We have stayed in a Q hotel before for spa breaks and always love it. We only had the upgraded rooms as standard weren't available on booking. Unfortunately Q hotels have such a fab residence at Aldwark Manor we constantly compare our stays in their other hotels against this fab hotel. One last thing. I was upset that a few of my calls made in regards to my booking cost me £26 on my mobile bill. Bare in mind my waiting times were longer than my calls! Can i be part/re-couperated for this please?
Very good quality food just cold, also the service was nothing special, actually had better service in the bar the previous night yet the service charge is added automatically!
EXCELLENT FOOD & SERVICE. PARTICULARLY FRANCO-HE WAS SO ATTENTIVE & EFFICIENT
The only criticism was that the chairs were not clean and in some places very tatty. Other than that the food was simply gorgeous and the service was exemplary.
