Really lovely! Great food and great value
Excellent location, inspired design internally and superb food selection. A little slow on drinks to the table but, the service thereafter and quality of food made up for that!! Will definitely come again. Mike L from Canterbury.
I took my fiancé here for Sunday dinner the food was amazing the taste of the food and the way it was presented was on point hat off to the chef, the service was just as was needed not to over top but just enough to make your meal will definetly be going back soon
Very tasty and good quality food but the service was very slow. There were only 8 in the restaurant and we had to wait over an hour between our starters and main course. The main courses were quite small especially the lamb which was definiely not worth a £5 supplement. We decided not to have dessert as it was now quite late.
Imaginative and VERY tasty food. Service excellent. The only let down was that the red wine was too warm. Even tough the day was extremely hot, I would have expected the wine to be better kept. The value was reasonable for the location. We will return and will recommend.
Absolutely perfect evening, if I wanted to be picky the table was wobbly.
We had a wonderful, meal and the service was good. I always tip and don’t have an issue in general with an added service charge. However, I always think it unfair that it is a % on the whole bill including drinks. Cocktails are expensive, as is wine but it does not take any extra service than water. I will come again but I would probably minimise my drinking and spend that money elsewhere with pre-dinner drinks downstairs and after dinner drinks in another establishment. All in all though it is lovely to have such a class restaurant on my doorstep and it will be my go to place when I have visitors.
We booked dinner at the Parade Room to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had no previous knowledge of this restaurant but liked the look of both the venue and the menu. The service was great and the food was amazing! Give this restaurant a try. You will not be dissapointed.
Excellent food and drink. An interesting venue for high end food at very reasonable prices. The cocktails could be a little cheaper but a small price to pay for a good place to eat. Lovely air conditioned room which made the experience all the more pleasant. Will come again in future.
Excellent first visit to The Parade Room - and I can't wait to go back. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. I had the Slow Cooked Octopus (with Tomato and Chilli Jam, Chorizo and Buttermilk) to start and super-tender lamb with aubergine and apricot (lovely mix of flavour served with perfectly cooked greens). We shared two puds - Rum Baba (tastes like a pina colada in pudding form - and vegan) and Pistachio Sponge.
Reason for 3 rating on atmosphere, was because restaurant was very quiet, only two other tables taken. Had there been more, the rating would probably be a different one. The staff however were lovely and attentive and made us feel very welcome.
Great Food, and the history of the venue really complimented our visit, made it all the more interesting. We tried the small plates menu and cant wait to come back and try the main menu! Service was great - Dan tended to our needs and recommended some stunning dishes
Outstanding service and our friend who is an Executive Chef for Montage in LA absolutely loved it. Wine menu is outstanding and the food was sublime.
I think we booked too early hence the 3 stars for atmosphere, but it’s probably buzzing a bit later on...but our server was lovely! Really interesting combinations of food that weren’t too over powering. The portions looked small but that’s gastro dining, and I didn’t leave with an empty stomach to be fair. Nice end to our trip to Canterbury
Fantastic experience we will be back
Excellent food, served by plesent staff. For the quality of the food a very reasonable price.
Amazing food and great service. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and can’t wait to go back again.
Recommended by a friend, The Pound was a real treat. Taking out two people on works business from Sweden, the venue and atmosphere was perfect for people new to Canterbury. Steeped in history and an exceptional service from Dan and his colleague perfectly delivered food of a very high standard interjected with complimentary bite size appetisers and amuse bouche. The only recommendation is that I requested a VAT receipt which the number did not appear on the final receipt
My friend and I took our mums here for their birthdays at the weekend and we had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great and the staff were really friendly. The meal was delicious, wish it was bigger but overall an amazing night out, great food, great location, great atmosphere all at a reasonable price as well.
10/10 the food was gorgeous, the atmosphere was amazing, I didn’t catch the waitresses name but she was very helpful and cheerful and would often speak to me and my partner about the food and gave us the idea of going to the escape rooms ( which we will be doing) was simply perfect will definelty be back would recommend the octopus within a heartbeat
Gorgeous food and great service thank you
Truly magical, and a great treat. Excellent service and food, and brilliant atmosphere. Worth every penny.
Advertise! Let people know that the restaurant is there and offering absolutely awesome food. Do not deny the public the opportunity of such a wonderful experience!
Had a fantastic evening food and wine was very good. Service was excellent (he was a George Micheal look alike, as he described him self haha...) Everything had been well thought of down to every detail. We will most definitely be visiting again. Had a great evening.
Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Gluten and dairy free substitutes available on request. Interesting decor. A hidden gem!
