Atmosphere buzzing and food uniformly very good...the one exception was the cod main. Even then, all was good with the dish except the cod itself which was very salty - reminded me of when I left some fish wrapped in salt for too long in the fridge before cooking. Honest mistake, guess we got unlucky. Tempura oysters were fantastic, I could eat a dozen! Love your fairly priced, eclectic wine list...really like the place full stop.
Lovely food...anchovy on toast the best!
Amazing in every way. Thank you.
Somewhere to hang coats would be good. Excellent atmosphere and service but above all excellent seafood.
Great food, service and atmosphere in a perfect location for theatreland.
Visited on sat. Very loud bad wedding music all night. Terrible service (nice waitress, terrible management). Food delivered without sorting tiny overcrowded table; plates left of table for so long we had to ask for it to be cleared. Then half cleared. No cloth for wiping. Oysters and crab excellent (£60 for large crab so should have been) but food with recipes horrible. Sticky oversweet sauces, unpleasant. Loos were disgusting. Overpriced, too loud, not well run, all bit tacky. Very disappointed as was hoping for lovely seafood place with heart in food, informal in a good way not shouting through ABba whilst clearing own table whilst being fleeced. A family birthday so fed up.
Amazing food especially the oysters, excellent drinks and wine, will definitely be back when next up in London
We have being visiting Oystermen for several years now we come to London. It never fails to impress.
Fantastic Lunch. Will be back . Thankyou
Lovely lunch, great seafood
My friend and I had a fantastic meal at The Oystermen. Just three minor suggestions, the first one being that the bottle of the Verdejo was not cold enough. Although I understand that the staff were busy on a Friday night, it was a little difficult to get their attention so perhaps being a little more attentive to diners and the final one was when I asked our waitress which dessert she would recommend she said she had not tried them all (which is a shame as it would have been helpful to know what they were like before ordering). I will be coming back to your restaurant as I would say this is by far one of the best fish restaurants in London (I eat out a lot) . I have recommended The Oystermen to friends and family as a somewhere to dine in the future.
Absolutely loved every aspect of this fabulous place. My partner said they were the best oysters he ever had. We’ll be back for one of those crabs next time. Thank you! Just excellent!
Unfortunately the same balsamic glaze was used on my starter (risotto) and main course (hake) so a very dull samey experience - (the 3 kinds of oysters before were great though) - the waitress should have told me - real shame
Delicious food and a lovely friendly atmosphere
A great find. Inventive and delicious food. Delightful staff.
I eat here quite often pre-theatre, either with my partner or on my own. On my latest visit, I was pleased to find that the music was not so loud. (It’s a small place and loud music just drowns out conversation and spoils the experience). The oysters were lovely, the house white very drinkable, the crime brûlée delicious. and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We both so much enjoyed the Octopus Carpaccio starter on a previous visit that I ordered a double portion of it as my main this visit. But, disappointingly, this time the green coloured sauce with it made it just too sweet. I do hope they go back to the original recipe!
Staff friendly and helpful. Food delicious. Atmosphere fab. However, despite explaining that we had limited time due to going to a matinee theatre performance, and despite being one fo the first into the restaurant the gap between starter and main course was ridiculously long. Our chips sat on the side for about 20 mins, and we waited nearly an hour between courses. Also it would have been great if you had clams or shrimp too....
We had a lovely evening and the food was sensational - the tempura oysters were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As always, great food, drink and ambience topped off by excellent and attentive service. Subtle but meaningful tweaks have improved an already excellent menu. Here's to the next visit!!
Enjoyed a lovely evening at The Oystermen with friends on Sunday. The atmosphere was buzzing, very warm atmosphere and attentive service. The food was spectacular, a great selection of oysters and snacks followed by the whole Bream which was cooked to perfection and full of flavour, accompanied by a light and delicious salad. Great wine list too. Will definitely return and be recommending to friends. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Food, ambience, service...Fabulous
Delicious food - superb oysters and crab. Good value for the quality food Service is good and friendly staff. Only downside was the size of the table for 2 - not really enough room for two crabs sides and wine.
Very disappointed.had a great meal when it first opened but last Monday the enlarged space was very noisy,we had to wait too long for our main course, the staff were friendly but not too efficient-we had to ask for extra serviettes and finger bowls and most dishes, especially the salad, was far too salty.the wine however was excellent.
Great starter and crab main course
