Enjoy Afternoon Tea at Stoke Park in The Orangery with delicately hand-made sandwiches, cakes and scones served with delicious clotted cream, along with your choice of a wide range of teas and coffees, all the while surrounded by breathtaking views of the estate. Traditional English for those wanting to enjoy a time-honoured classic or Champagne for those celebrating
Really beautiful place just perfect to spoil someone special for afternoon tea. I ordered gluten free, & the sandwiches & cakes were excellent. Sadly I couldn’t say the say for the scones. Very hard almost giving the impression of being stale. The staff & service was impeccable.
5 star afternoon tea
Server was quite rude, we ordered one vegetarian and no egg and one with no fish and no egg. He brought the vegetarian tea but brought my friend fish, when we queried it he seemed annoyed, and said we hadn't explained properly. I had made it pretty clear when we ordered and I felt like we were a real inconvenience. Plain scones were hard and stale in the middle, like they'd been reheated from frozen. Charged for bottled water when we asked for tap. Sandwiches also disappointing, when we asked for more we were only given four fingers to share. In the past afternoon tea at Stoke Park has been wonderful, on this occasion I was very disappointed. Cakes were very nice and atmosphere was wonderful as usual. I am returning in a few weeks to stay at the hotel and am hopeful the service will be back to its usual standard.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Stoke Park. The food was delicious, their hot chocolate is to die for, the staff is very welcoming and nice. The surroundings are stunning too, I recommend a little walk in the park! We had a great time, thank you!
Lovely service. Thank you
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea here on the weekend. It was our first visit and we were impressed with the actual house and how impressive it is. It looks even more lovely with all the Christmas decorations that have been put up. The service of our afternoon tea was very good and attentive without being too intrusive. The gentleman, I think he name was Manuel (maybe) was very informative and made our afternoon. We did have a party of 12 young girls for a 10th birthday sitting near us which wasn’t ideal but not as bad as I first expected. Thanks for a lovely afternoon, we will be back!
Delicious food served by attentive, friendly staff
An incredible experience, a tour of the grounds followed by beautiful food and amazing service. Thank you Stoke Park We will be back !!!!
Great service especially from the 2 Restaurant Supervisors; Alex Carp and Miguel.
Beautiful surroundings Excellent service Delicious food
Could have done with a bit more direction initially on whether we were in the right part of the hotel either at reception or at the entrance to the Orangery. Not clear where all the toilets are
The service was very good and our waiter couldn’t have been more helpful. The food especially the savouries and scones were lovely, however I did find the cakes a bit samey. Perhaps changing one for a biscuit or macaroon type would add some variety. The children’s cakes looked much nicer with a variety. The children’s sandwiches were also rated very highly by my children. The milkshakes were amazing and got a big thumbs up from them. My main disappointment was that my daughters birthday was forgotten. Having mentioned it when I booked and had a phone call asking for the spelling of her name for a birthday plate it was shockingly bad. We did mention to the waiter when we were paying and he had no idea but went and sorted a generic plate for her but it wasn’t the same and took the shine off what could have been an amazing experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea with you which was a birthday gift. Our waiter Harry was very attentive and made our afternoon very enjoyable
The service was very good and we found the people very friendly and helpful. The only negative comment I can give is related to menu. The child menu said teddy bear biscuits but my daughter was disappointed when she didn't have teddy bear biscuits. Better to stick to the menu or update it when it is changed.
We experienced service far below our expectations and way below the prices charged. We struggled to get the attention of staff. We ordered a glass of Merlot and were given a glass of white wine. The replacement glass was extremely late arriving. The same server who made the mistake with the wine took our dessert orders (we struggled to get anyone to do so) which included a cheese plate. Another server then returned to check as she'd noted that as a cheesecake instead. The atmosphere in the room is somewhat sombre and on arrival there was a strong and quite unpleasant fishy smell in the entire room. We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and our dining experience was not what we would've wished for. The bill was absolutely exorbitant for the quality. We ate better and were treated better at our local pizzeria the following night for a total bill of £79.
Great Service. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea. We would love to go back for a Sunday lunch sometimes.
We were celebrating my daughter in laws 30th birthday. We felt we were really looked after. Wonderful service. The afternoon tea was excellent. We didnt have to ask for more tea as teapots were checked... above and beyond what I expected and I regularly go out for afternoon tea.
The service , surrounding and staff outstanding ,food excellent the champagne like silk I've been to some of the top hotels in London for afternoon tea and your is up there with them the only down side is you put £20+ service on the bill which I disagree with I feel I would like to make that decision to give a tip !!!! This does not happen in other hotels so that's the downside but otherwise was a lovely afternoon .
Despite explaining our dietary requirements that we were lacto vegetarian we were served egg sandwiches. I clearly explained over the phone the we do not take eggs, fish or fowl. We were fine with milk, cheese, etc. Nowadays you can get vegetarian or vegan desserts in all supermarkets. We were eventually served desserts which had meringue drops on them. Surely that is egg white! It was very disappointing. I would never recommend anyone for afternoon tea at The Stoke Hotel.
Delicious afternoon tea, very attentive staff and lovely surroundings.
Lovely afternoon tea. Felt you were a bit understaffed though. Service was excellent as usual but staff were clearly stretched as had to wait for attention a few times.
Lovely lunch with friends from London. They loved the views even though it was a rainy Saturday! Service excellent!
I made the booking on behalf of a relative for us all to celebrate her gaining an MVO from the Queen that day. The lady who took the booking asked if we were celebrating and when I asked why she was asking she explained that she could make a note of congratulations somewhere during our afternoon tea. This never materialised. We had booked champagne tea and when I asked if we got more than one glass I was informed that we didn't. I mentioned to our waiter how special this day was and he did get another glass of champagne for the main lady. I was disappointed that nothing had been passed down on our booking although our waiter did his best to compensate us.
Had a wonderful birthday and were made to feel very special.
