About The Orangery
The Orangery offers an array of delicious meals and indulgent afternoon teas to be enjoyed overlooking some of the finest views in Britain.
Enjoy Afternoon Tea at Stoke Park in The Orangery with delicately hand-made sandwiches, cakes and scones served with delicious clotted cream, along with your choice of a wide range of teas and coffees, all the while surrounded by breathtaking views of the estate. Traditional English for those wanting to enjoy a time-honoured classic or Champagne for those celebrating
Our server Alexandru was excellent and very attentive. Food was delicious and very high quality. Atmosphere was festive and luxurious. Will definitely recommend to others.
Beautiful surrounding and relaxed afternoon. Staff very accommodating, It’s a shame as due to covid was a little quiet but all the same was lovely experience.
Mixed thoughts on afternoon tea at Stoke Park. After being greeted by reception, we were led towards the entrance of the Orangery and informed a colleague would soon take us to our table. At least 5 minutes elapsed before we were finally taken to our table, with us hanging around at the entrance feeling completely ignored. The Orangery was not busy so this was not an excuse and this was a poor start to proceedings. The food was ok but no better. The sandwiches were not freshly cut. The bread was slightly stale, as though the sandwiches were prepared for the early diners and then left uncovered for a couple of hours (we took tea at 3:30). The fillings were no better than what one would expect from a supermarket sandwich really, to the extent I could not identify some of the fillings. The staff simply advised it was a 'meat filling' - hmm. The scones were good (freshly baked) and the loose leaf tea (House blend) very good indeed. The Orangery itself is a delightful room and the staff were all friendly and attentive once we were seated. Overall, I don't think the price (£45 per person) for afternoon tea is justified. The price is at a level comparable to the very best hotels in London, but the quality was not.
really enjoyed afternoon tea
It was our Wedding Anniversary ... There were several mistakes on the night : 1) The wrong drink was brought in for my wife. 2) Starter was not as it was ordered. 3) The vegetables with the food didn't arrive. By the time the sides came, the food was half eaten and it spoilt it a bit. We were compensated for it and the waitresses were very polite and courteous.
The service was great as always. Really enjoyed the afternoon
Beautiful venue, superb and plentiful afternoon tea. Staff were friendly and attentive. Lacking in atmosphere due to covid but we look forward to returning when things are more normal and the restaurant is once is again full
Excellent cream tea fantastic service
Our servers Sasia ( not sure of spelling. She’s polish) was wonderful and very attentive. As was Simone your lovely Italian server. Can’t wait to return.
Wonderful friendly warm service
The quality of the afternoon tea served was superb. The waiting staff were superb. Unfortunately there was a table of two ladies with young boisterous children who were running around making a noise and often by our table. No effort was made by their mothers to quieten them and unfortunately staff walking around ignored it too. This did ruin what was a meant to be a relaxing birthday afternoon for my sister. However despite this we did go away feeling we would still come back as we felt the quality and service provided was wonderful. Perhaps there should be a separate seating area for families with young children and it should be pointed out that children should not be allowed to run around.
Not happy with the quality of food . It was my husband’s bday asked them to do a little dessert platter with happy birthday written on it , which they totally forgot to get after the dinner was over .
Thoroughly disappointing . Dirty dining area - carpets filthy, food from previous guests on floor, while area in need of complete overhaul. Absolutely no atmosphere, a handful of guests none having afternoon tea, no real dress code and music not in keeping with afternoon tea. Sandwiches were ok but I’d say been sitting there a while and hardly adventurous - plain ham, plain egg etc etc and all on white bread. Scones were tiny and there was barely a selection of cakes. I know CV19 is part of the problem but as a 5 * hotel charging just under £130 inc automatic service charge of 12.5% ..... I was expectIng alot better from every aspect - the food, service and dining area.
It was a lovely experience, but very expensive, nice for a special occasion
it took me 25 ,minutes to make the reservation with reception, difficult process
Disgraceful. Food certainly not representative of what is shown in pictures in the media. And I’m a member so want it to be good.
In view of the different world we are living in, our afternoon tea was booked for an end of half term treat. We felt safe, everything was well organised and there was plenty of social distancing in place. No matter how much Covid has changed things for everything, the food and service was still super special and we loved being out
Lights a bit high in main room but we sat by fire and it was lovely and cosy. Special reference to Joanna who was incredibly helpful and the barman.
Everything about the experience - booking, arrival, service, food and drink were perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves and will come back as soon as we can. Thanks to all of your hard working staff!
A 5 star afternoon tea! My mum & I enjoyed every second celebrating her birthday. The first time we had eaten out since covid & we felt very comfortable & at ease. All the safety procedures in place were excellent. My requests made when booking had been noted & remembered. The service was great with the right amount of attention given to us. As for the afternoon tea itself, the selection & quality of food was excellent & definitely generous enough! Good selection of teas also, even for a decaf drinker like myself. A stunning venue & a fabulous afternoon tea.
I brought 2 guests with me who were absolutely awestruck by the occasion. I have been a regular guest for many years. The surroundings are exquisite, the food is magnificent however, on this occasion, the staff were absolutely exemplary and a credit to Stoke Park! Thank you all.
We had a nice time, but there were a few things I think could have been improved. 1) there were crumbs over our table when we sat down, not been cleaned properly 2) the cups had marks on them, old stains 3) some of the sandwiches were a little hard at the edges
Wow what a wonderful experience we will definitely be booking again. We took an hours stroll round the beautiful heritage garden before afternoon tea. The service was amazing from all staff in particular our waitress who was very polite and spoke to children as well as us. My mum has allergies so struggles to have afternoon tea but all her requirements where met and she said it was the best she had ever had!
