About The Old Queens Head
Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that’s full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces.
All are welcome in our bar area – even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch…)
We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months – and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play.
Again up to scratch!! Never fails!!
The black pudding had no spice to it. Very blad. Main course duck breast very tough.
Very slow service and all 3 vegetable portions didn’t arrive- unbelievable
Really nice food and very nice staff also! Possibly a bit overpriced, but it's definitely a good option for some sort of special occasion dinners. Will come back!
Great Sunday lunch!!!
Absolutely lovely will always come again!
Excellent meal. Staff charming. Head and shoulders above the competition.
Always love coming for a meal at the Queens Head, The staff are always so friendly and you never feel rushed. I cam for Lunch for a colleagues birthday and we were on a bit of time line so we pre ordered which helped to speed up the process. Always recommend coming here and will continue to do so in the future- just not a timeline! :)
We had a great Sunday roast lunch, service was very attentive and friendly.....as my partner likes to say "meeting up to your high American standard of customer service". Excellent food and drink, we will be back again to work our way through the regular menu!
Roasts are always amazing. We always ask for extra gravy and we love all of it and we love the fact that the staff remember what we have! Really good service Our favourite roast in the area Thank you
Generally had a fantastic evening - only downside was that some of the drinks prices were extortionate. Some of my guests were charged £15 for a single G&T, or £9.50 for a beer and a pint of coke. Not sure if they were charged correctly.
This is our local pub and it’s always a pleasure to eat and drink here. A proper local!!
Made to feel welcome by friendly helpful staff. Table was booked for inside but changing it to outside at the last minute due to the temperature inside didn't create a problem.
We have eaten here on many occasions but yesterday lunch was very disappointing. The crusted lamb and Greek salad was awful. The lamb was tough and resembled a processed slice of meat and came with 2 spoonfuls of Greek salad and at £16.75 was a total rip off! We also ordered the goats cheese salad and asked for it to be a main course...it arrived and we had to send it back because it was so tiny. Interestingly the waitress had questioned the size of it to the chef and apparently he said to wait and see what the customer said about the size of it! That’s truly awful. Certainly the atmosphere is lovely here but to pay £95 for a meal which was hugely disappointing would not make me recommend the OQH. I didn’t complain at the time because it was a special celebration and it would have made the birthday quest very uncomfortable.
compliments to the chef
We had a fab meal and evening at the Old Queens Head. Staff super helpful, setting gorgeous and the food delicious!
Fantastic GF & DF menu and best chocolate ice cream I've ever had! Thank you.
We love the staff and food. Regulars. Always sit at top table in far right corner up the steps of upper restaurant Thank you x
Thank you for a generally great experience yesterday. FABULOUS crab crostini, fishcakes, profiteroles and sorbets (with baby mint?). Couldn't fault them. Overall, we loved the spaciousness, informality, excellent service and cuisine.
Great food, great service
Lovely pub, great helpful waiting staff.
Love this place. Atmosphere lacking but only because everyone was sat outside. Food is above average and as expected. Had a lovely evening with lots of wine
Didn't feel that it was value for money.
A favourite pub for lovely food & friendly atmosphere, this time the food was slightly under seasoned for my taste but service & setting made for an enjoyable evening
Nice meal - I always seem to end up next to a very 'loud' party whenever I visit.
