About The Old Queens Head
Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that’s full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces.
All are welcome in our bar area – even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch…)
We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months – and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play.
I have reluctantly marked you down on food and service as there were so many of the main menu meal unavailable. Very unusual for the OQH. Whilst we appreciate it is difficult times all the other adults on the table said if there was anywhere else they could go on short notice they would have moved on. The food and service were of the usual high quality.
Lovely to be back and grateful for the safety measures which are in place but don’t spoil the experience.
Best rissotto. Realy lovely pub thank you
Good service, tasty food, good value. Thanks guys x
Excellent Sunday lunch.
Friendly staff, well trained in all safety measures, good food even though a reduced menu.
I usually come to Bucks about twice a year to meet up with friends and we always come to The Queens Head. This week, I left my brain behind in Suffolk and failed to book a table! However we were greeted warmly for their first day back. As ever the service and food was wonderful and we were blessed with a sunny day. Thank you Team for looking after us so well. Suzi
This was my second time out for dinner since Covid and I have to say you out the other place I went to to shame! The level of consideration for not only your patrons but yourselves was incredible. I felt completely safe in my surroundings because you could see how thorough you were all being with cleaning! Food was amazing as always and stuff extremely friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely evening. Look forward to seeing you again very soon x
First visit back after Covid-19. Excellent safeguarding measures have been introduced making the customer feel very confident. Excellent food, even with a new chef the bubble & squeak was exactly as expected. Thank you for a great lunch.
We both enjoyed the meal immensely, and were delighted with the whole experience. Lovely to be back!
First meal out after lockdown. A lovely evening with amazing food as always. Fantastic service. All provided in a safe and comfortable environment. We’ll be back soon. David
Went for drinks in the garden. Great set up with social distancing. Good to see the staff again.
GREAT TO SEE YOU ALL BACK OPEN, GREAT SERVICE AS ALWAYS FROM A GREAT TEAM SEE YOU SOON Jon and Kim Urquhart.
Great to be back at the pub!
Lovely, welcoming and hospitable. Atmosphere only marked done due to corona virus affecting business.
We always enjoy coming to The Od Queens Head, never disappointed.
We had the 2 course £15 lunch menu and it was excellent value for the quality of the food so nicely cooked for us. I really enjoyed my onion tart starter and then those two sausages!
Always great food and great service. Definitely back soon!
The food and service were excellent: Kate and her team were amazing: I did not meet the kitchen staff but all our food was delivered promptly and beautifully presented. A fabulous evening in very very lovely surroundings. Thank you
Super fast service. Full Sunday roast within 10 mins of ordering! Really tasty and good sized portion. Just a bit more expensive that other local pubs.
Our first visit to OQH on a Saturday will be our last. As ever, the food was very good, but on this occasion took a long time to arrive and is now very expensive, considering the modest portion sizes. The service, although cheerful and welcoming, was also very slow, especially considering the 2-hour limit on booking slots. It is one thing to have 'atmosphere', but the noise level when we arrived forced us to shout at one another across the table in order to be heard. I was rather dismayed, on looking at the bill, to see a pint of Diet Coke priced at £4.40, and pork scratchings at £3.00, literally handed over in a sealed bag, not even emptied into a small dish. Very disappointing, OQH; it will be some time before we return.
I found my food to be rather too salty and one member of the part had to return her meal because the high salt content made it unpalatable. However, her meal was replaced free of charge with something more edible
we enjoyed the evening
Excellent menus with great quality products. Good prices. Only recommendation would be for diners to be able to mix and match on menus (ala carte, specials and light bites)
