About The Old Bank- Bistro
Contemporary authentic all day dining experience delivering traditional Italian cuisine amid an elegant modern décor with panoramic views of Dungarvan Harbour
Very friendly staff, really enjoyed getting the history of the building while reading the menu. Only had one cocktail but it was very nice and beautifully presented. All-round great experience. Food was gorgeous, I had the soft-shell crab starter and a pizza, both very tasty.
We had a lovely evening....food was tasty and well presented and the service was excellent. The only downside was that we were seated near a large party and we found it difficult to chat but all in all an enjoyable evening..
Wonderful experience from start to finish
We went to The Bistro for dinner after being gifted a voucher at Christmas. The food was delicious. However, we felt it was very overpriced compared to other high end restaurants we have been to. We didn't feel that it was good value for money and are unlikely to return for that reason.
We would have stayed longer if we were let :)
Really enjoyed our family meal. Excellent service and food was exceptional
Lovely place and lovely staff well worth a visit
First visit and we all really enjoyed it. The highlight was the excellent food and wine. The venison in particular was superb. Service a little slow in the bar but good service in the restaurant. One observation is that the dining room is far too bright. Suggest dimming some of the many overhead lights!
Unfortunately two things led to the above review. 1. Service - arrived at 8pm and it was 9.30 before main courses were served. No one came near us to explain or apologise. One of my group asked what was taking the mains so long and the hostess gave a vague ‘its on its way’ without any apology or explanation. During this time our wine glasses were empty and we had to ask the waitress to serve more from the bottle. This type of service is not acceptable in a restaurant of this standard. 2. Very small portions. I ordered soup with octopus. The fish was nice but there was barely a few mouthfuls in the soup. All the main courses were tiny for the price. I am aware quality is the focus in a fine dining restaurant but I had 3 courses and was hungry a couple hours after leaving the restaurant. Overall not impressed and would be very reluctant to return. Nothing has obviously been learned from the Lucinda O’Sullivan review.
Great food, extremely good service and a beautiful building. I would highly recommend The Old Bank.
food was tasty.portions are small.after all 3 courses i was still hungry which given the price was a bit disappointing. Service was great.very friendly. The venue is nice and modern, but is missing a warmer cosy felling to it.
Lovely atmosphere, had a drink in the bar before having lunch, which was so tasty
Really enjoyed lunch at The Old Bank recently. Coffee did not arrive, but once we reminded our very polite waitress it was rectified immediately. Would recommend & will be back again soon. :)
Went for roast on a Sunday, discovered it was a large sharing plate, food was very nice and possibly could have fed 3 persons But very akward as no room for dinner plates on tiny table, also given bread, no need. With dessert and coffees it was very expensive. Pricing for main meal a bit confusing.
Signage to show where to “check in” for dinner reservation would be good. Staff were very helpful, food lovely but maybe a bit restrictive/carb based for vegetarians, restrooms were pristine. Went for a look around the bar and it looks great. I look forward to going back some eve.
Improve your selection of alcoholic beverages, reduce starter portions and offer to take coats to the cloakroom on arrival.
Delicious food in a beautiful stylish restaurant and cocktail bar Super friendly staff Would definitely return
Would have referred a greater choice of starters. The main course, dessert , service and surrounding were excellence.
Thank you lovely experience we will be back.
Bistro features OK even if light coloured mats on table would permit clients to be sure they are clean. Waitresses perfect but please forbid them to put the napkin on the clients ' knees who are adults and not dirty toddlers. As for the food it is a disaster from the Heinz styled soup to the terrible pastas. Will never come back
Absolutely delicious food, awesome cocktails & service. Will definitely return.
