About The Ninth
The Ninth is the latest project by London-based chef Jun Tanaka. Set in the heart of London’s buzzy Fitzrovia neighbourhood, the contemporary, yet warm and inviting 90-seater restaurant offers up simple but refined French Mediterranean-style dishes, all made for sharing.
The a la carte menu – available at lunch and dinner – focuses on the finest seasonal produce and vibrant, honest flavours. Specialties include house-cured meats and fish, robust French classics with Jun’s signature fresh twist, and lovingly thought-out vegetable dishes that are more than just ‘sides’.
Good food and wonderful bartender. She is awsome! One a very few restaurants that are high quality, but not so stiff - very relaxed.
Ela was lovely & charming, helping us with our food choices & making us feel very much at home.
Delicious food and relaxed service. Highly recommend.
The 22nd Michelin star restaurant I have visited in the last 22 months. It was ok. Very good service and not overly expensive but sadly no wow factor. Had the signature dish and it came and went like without announcing itself. Sadly I doubt I’ll return but pleased I’ve been.
A lack of seasoning on one plate but an very good overall experience
There were two brilliant stars that evening we were there. The food and the waiter who looked after us and whose name I did not get, but whose professional and cheerful service I will always remember. We'll be back.
I forgot the name of the chap who served our table, but I wanted to highlight that we were very happy with the service and knowledge/ recommendations he shared with us that made our experience even better!
Everything was amazing. I loved the pavlova.
One of the best full english Breakfast in Brighton!!!
We enjoyed dinner with friends at The Ninth - delicious food, liked the sharing concept & the ability to order wine in carafes. Felt it was quite expensive food though - £32 for a small fillet of turbot with numerous bones for example
Ninth is a lovely restaurant. Great service with really tasty food. High quality and skilled cooking. Hope to be back soon.
We booked The Ninth for Saturday night off the back of reading other comments/reviews. We booked at the bar, but were moved to a table which was lovely. Unfortunately it then took around 30 minutes for our wine that we had ordered to turn up, which we had to remind another waiter on. We also felt the waitress was up-selling the food and we ordered probably two dishes more than was required, which ended up being a false economy as we had no space left for dessert. This was the main disappointing element of the meal and a little bit more attention to portion sizes and orders we probably would have had a fantastic evening out. Having said all that, the food was lovely and a great atmosphere. Will we return again, i doubt it as there are so many other better restaurants available in central London.
It is a lovely restaurant with amazing tapas style meals to share. We took a set menu with wine. Hard to believe how little we spent for a Michelin star restaurant!
Quite simple some of the best food I’ve ever eaten
We had a large group here that said that the food was delicious and that the set up of the semi-private room had privacy but with the right amount of atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to others.
Great vibes Excellent food
Sat upstairs. Both servers were great.
EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY. MONDAY WAS BUSIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, BUT COMPENSATED BY TAKING OWN WINE
Delicious small plates. Enjoyed the variety of flavors. Very attentive staff made for an enjoyable evening.
First class meal and service
Thoroughly enjoyable evening with amazing food and fantastic service. Thank you to all the staff for such an experience.
Well worth the wait. A wonderful blend of flavors.
