About The New Club
Situated on Brighton seafront with fantastic views from our south facing terrace, we are well known locally and nationally for our innovative modern American food and drink.
We use premium quality local seasonal produce and virtually everything is made on site and from scratch. We serve direct trade organic coffee from Union, recycle as much as we possibly can, and absolutely nothing goes into landfill.
Serving brunch, lunch and dinner, with a fantastic bar, and a cocktail list which will knock your socks off, our aim is to serve high quality, inventive food and drink in a relaxing environment, to provide excellent hospitality, and a great experience to our customers.
Cathy, the owner, made our experience for my daughter's 18th birthday really fantastic. Communication before the event was easy the private room downstairs was ideal for out party All our dishes arrived without a hitch and all together and everyone loved their food. Most of the guests had not visited The New Club before and all said they would be back. it was reasonably priced too. Could not fault it at all.
really helpful staff enabled our group of adults, children of various ages and a puppy to have a lovely relaxed brunch.
Lovely Sunday Lunch.
Excellent service, staff very friendly making sure we were comfortable and happy during our lunch at all times. Best roast I’ve had for a long time, that pork was to die for! Drinks were also very good. I’ll be back
Catherine was so helpful in organising my booking with me prior to our visit and the kitchen staff on the day prepared our food so quickly and it was all delicious!
Really enjoyed our brunch at The New Club. The staff were so accommodating and attentive. Had a cheeky tutti frutti mamosa which was fab, and the Mexican eggs were stupendous! All of which hit the spot. The only reason I didn’t mark the food higher was because the 4 ladies in our group who chose to have the full English breakfasts were disappointed that their meals were left to sit under the heat lamp, probably whilst the remaining meals were being prepared, and whilst we totally appreciate that we were a large group of 9, we understand that the staff probably wanted to serve all the dishes at the same time. The ladies with the said dishes would’ve preferred their meals served once ready, as the heat lamp had dried some of the food out, which was a shame. However, we realised that the restaurant was jam packed that day, and they were short staffed, which was unfortunate. Aside from this, our overall experience was enjoyable and we would definitely return to The New Club. Thanks again to the lovely staff!
Had a fab Sunday lunch, staff were so friendly and service was excellent, my partner left his sunglasses behind and when we callled the next day they had kindly put them to one side! Thanks so much, will definitely return 😊
Delicious veggie roast!
Excellent staff, made our group feel very much at home and could not have been more helpful. The food was fantastic. We were seated in the private lounge, which made our evening even more of a success. Will be back again and will be recommending to all who will listen. Thank you so much.
Great food, drinks and service for a hen party dinner!
I would leave a review, but don't want my data collected. Thanks anyway.
Thank you for making our hen party dinner really lovely, both the team & the food were fantastic!
We preordered our food as we were a group, the food hadn’t arrived after 50 minutes of us waiting. When we asked if it was on its way the lady was so rude! She told us the chef wasn’t told we’d arrived and that we were late which didn’t help. We were not late, some of the party were 15 minutes early. She later said that she’d been shouted at by the chef which is why she’d been rude to us! Awful service! Completely ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.
We came to the restaurant based on a friend's recommendation, as he and his partner had a good experience when visiting a few months ago. We did enjoy the food, however service was very poor. Firstly, I had specifically mentioned in the booking it was my partner's birthday but we got no mention of it whatsoever, no dessert nor candle or anything like it was offered. The couple that sat next to our table arrived after us and got their main course before us and had left by the time ours came. It was just a chicken burger and pork belly, so not sure why it took so long. The wait to get the order in was also quite long. We kept trying to get the waitresses attention, but nothing seemed to work. They were all lovely and friendly, but just didn't come around the table often at all. It was not the experience I wanted to provide my partner on his birthday and even if we both enjoyed the food, we really did not enjoy the dining experience.
Thanks so much for looking after our team, following our London - Brighton bike ride. The food was simple and tasty, and just what we all needed. Th service was very quick and attentive!
The atmosphere was a tricky one to score as there were so few people in there. I feel that 3 is a fair score.
I booked my son's 21st for a family dinner on a Saturday and everything was first class, easy to book, great food, all came together and hot for 12 people, good drinks service and allowed us to bring our own cake. We had the private dining area downstairs, we had a great evening.
Booked a table & staff had no idea what they were doing when we arrived. Told us they weren’t serving food, when I said I booked and they didn’t tell me that then they said oh you can have food but there’s a wait. Waited over an hour for food to come. Tiny portion of cold squid & all other food was pretty flavourless. We ordered three cocktails & these took nearly 15 minutes to arrive. Bloody Mary was a milky red colour, not how it should look at all & was undrinkable. Didn’t want to make a fuss but you would have thought someone would say something when you leave an entire drink. We all left feeling sick & still felt unwell on Monday too. The kitchen clearly does not have the capacity for the size of the place and this is apparent in the wait time and standard of food. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry, especially after paying the £75 bill for something we didn’t enjoy or even eat most of.
I was pretty disappointed. It was very loud inside, I booked a table and it didn't matter where we sat. I even mentioned I was celebrating anniversary but it was left unnoticed. Decided to go elsewhere for drinks. Service personell tried their best and the food was decent but I wouldn't come back if it was somehow important.
We had the private area booked and considering we had pre-ordered the food it took quite a while to come and was pretty disappointing unfortunately. Quite flavourless, the burgers were dry. It was nice to be able to get a private space though for a big group. The lady serving us was lovely and was doing her best with minimal bar staff and 20 of us!
This is the 2nd time I’ve dined at New Club. It took quite a while for someone to come over just to take our drink orders. It was always a little difficult to get a waiter/waitresses’ attention. The squid was a little salty and it would be nice with some kind of dipping sauce. Secondly, the roast took quite some time to come to the table. It is delicious but I think adding a time frame for the wait should be added to the menu to prepare customers.
The team were great helping organise a surprise dinner in their private dining space. The food was great, lots of options for veggies, vegans and gluten free (our party needed a varied menu to fit everyone’s requirements) I will certainly be back and I’m sure many others will be too!
A great menu and helpful staff
Staff very friendly and a great Sunday roast, but overall we got poor service: we did not receive a pint we ordered, nobody checked if food was ok, could not flag anyone down to get sauces needed, we had to go to the counter to order pudding and ask for bill etc. Food was great but v disappointed that new club have started charging extra for cauli cheese and a bit of extra gravy on top of an already £16 roast meal. Also finally we pre booked but were squashed into a corner I couldn’t even get out of my seat to get to the loo. Overall not great this time unfortunately.
Wasn’t really Great tbh. All the food came out cold then sent back all the roast and took around 20 minutes to come back out. But by that time I and my girlfriend had already finished out burgers which were cold but didn’t want to send back as it was taking so long for my family members roasts to come back out. They did apologise though. But still isn’t up to standards.
