About The Muddlers Club Belfast
Tucked away between Waring Street & Exchange Place in the historic back street of Cathedral Quarter, The Muddlers Club has been named after the secret society that met there over 200 years ago.
Head chef & owner Gareth McCaughey hand picks the best of home grown produce daily to ensure the quality of each dish served. The open kitchen provides a sense of theatre and allows the diner to watch as ingredients are transformed into meticulously simple dishes in front of them.
With a carefully considered wine and an extensive cocktail list you will find a warm welcome at The Muddlers Club.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, very friendly, courteous and professional staff.
Exquisite food and a new experience with every visit. Being vegan, I was very impressed with the imagination put into each course of the tasting menu. The staff are very warm and welcoming, and we will most definitely be back to The Muddlers Club in the near future. Highly recommended!
Best restaurant in Belfast
Great spot, great service, great food, hard to beat really...
Excellent
Second time dining here and did not disappoint! Wine pairings complimented each dish perfectly
Everything was fantastic with the exception of the coffee which was a make of coffee I don't like but that would not put me off returning and having tea.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. The only constructive feedback would be that we waited 15-20 minutes between some of our courses then were rushed from our table when we still had wine left and asked to sit at the bar as they needed the table back. 2 hours is plenty of time if the food came quicker. Not that we wanted to rush and we didn’t mind the wait but didn’t appreciate being moved from the table literally 2 minutes after we finished dessert. The bar area is limited so ended up sitting in front of cutlery and glasses to finish our wine. For a meal at £170 it would have been nice not to be rushed. Overall a great experience and I will definitely visit again but lacks the finesse expected for a top restaurant in this price bracket.
Very good in all departments
Imaginative approach to food. Good use of veggies which usually end up on the compost heap ( sprout tops). Although there was only one vegetarian main course it was delicious and thankfully not the ubiquitous risotto or something cheesy in pastry. Music was a trifle loud and not really my taste. It’s not a cheap restaurant, but not outrageous either. I had a healthy appetite by tea time despite 3 courses. I’m 8st 12lb, incase you think I’m a porker. Overall a very enjoyable spot to meet up with old mates.
Fabulous food. Portions small but satisfying.
Great experience - will be back!
The whole experience was incredible. The ambiance, food, service and wine was flawless. The staffs level of service, friendly demeanours and the detailed knowledge of the wines being served made whole the experience a 5/5.
Tasting menu at lunchtime perfect for relaxing Saturday
Excellent lunch
second time there within a month. have been a few times before. always first class
Superb tasting menu, attentive but not intrusive service and great music. Will be back.
What a great place. Brilliant food, thoughtful and friendly service, little touches from the staff that matches the best 3* Michelin places I have eaten in. Bravo.
We went to the Muddlers Club and for my husband's birthday and had a delicious meal. Each course in the tasting menu was delicious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Portions are small but incredibly tasty and filling! Up there with one of the nicest meals I've ever had. Looking forward to returning to try the sample menu next.
Staff were so attentive and warm! So knowledgeable. Had a wonderful night!
Service was excellent as were the wines. A great range of wines from all regions. The Hake was good.
The tasting menu was a culinary experience to remember, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Definitely worth another visit.
Dined here for my husbands 40th, food, service and ambience was all first class. Even the little touch of a candle in his dessert which was lovely! We will definitely be back.
We had a brilliant night to celebrate my husbands birthday and was a welcome child free evening. Niall our waiter was so knowledgable and good craic too! The food was amazing, the tasting menu made us both try something we would never usually order and we loved it. It’s a taste sensation and worth a visit. We will be back!
