About The Muddlers Club Belfast
Tucked away between Waring Street & Exchange Place in the historic back street of Cathedral Quarter, The Muddlers Club has been named after the secret society that met there over 200 years ago.
Head chef & owner Gareth McCaughey hand picks the best of home grown produce daily to ensure the quality of each dish served. The open kitchen provides a sense of theatre and allows the diner to watch as ingredients are transformed into meticulously simple dishes in front of them.
With a carefully considered wine and an extensive cocktail list you will find a warm welcome at The Muddlers Club.
Great food. Great staff. Great service.
The five course tasting menu accompanied with wine selection was beautiful.
Informative and friendly service
The taster menu was fantastic, have never tasted food like this and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to be back!
As usual it was completely delicious with superb service. I think it might have been our first time there on a Friday evening and it was noisier than I remember it from before, but then previously we've also had more secluded tables. The only suggestion I would make is angling tables (especially couples) so that people from different groups aren't immediately adjacent...makes it seem more private. Will be back for more I'm sure. Wine was fabulous.
Superb. Food, wine, service and ambience were all exceptional. We’ll be back!
Very enjoyable evening. Perhaps a little noisier than I’d like, but would certainly go back.
It was our first time in Muddlers and we look forward to returning. We had the tasting menu on the 11th August and in every course flavour and presentation was excellent as were all the staff who served us. We would recommend having the wine pairing with each course which really enhanced the experience.
Great meal. However as the restaurant was quiet when we visited I don't think we were given enough time between courses. Service felt a bit rushed.
Possibly a slightly better selection of local craft beer would be good.
Excellent food and service.
We had a great evening. The food was fantastic with lovely textures and flavours. The wine was expertly paired and served by knowledgable engaging staff. All contact with your staff was a pleasure and they are so enthusiastic and I really felt they enjoy doing what they do. Thanks for a memorable meal.
We had a fantastic night-good was delicious and staff were brilliant. Will definitely come again!
I loved the ambience of the restaurant and the staff were exceptional. I was slightly disappointed in the food - was expecting a lot more flavours - loved the Burrata Tomato Pistachio - my favourite dish.
We had a great night, thank you
Fantastic food, fantastic drinks, fantastic service. First but certainly not our last time at MCB!
Every time we go the taste gets better as well as the service
Not the first time, won’t be the last. Consistently excellent and the lunch menu is great value for money!
Excellent food and our waiter was 1st class. Vary friendly, informative and professional. Cannot recommend this place highly enough and will definitely return soon.
Great service. Niall was very helpful
The beef dish from the tasting menu was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate and drank, and the service was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Decent tunes and a relaxed atmosphere. A memorable evening on our special occasion.
Fantastic from start to finish! Food was excellent, staff; friendly professional and relaxed! Honestly couldn’t fault it and I’m hard to please!
Service was a little slow. Generally underwhelmed by the experience as a whole unfortunately.
We had an unbelievable meal! We went for the tasting menu and loved every last bit of it! Definitely the best meal we’ve ever eaten. We loved so many elements of each dish but particularly enjoyed being blown away by certain items. Every purée or jus was so smooth and rich; they really finished off each dish to perfection. The fish course was my absolute favourite; I’ve never enjoyed courgette so much and that was my first time actually enjoying gnocchi. I’ve been telling everyone today that I ate the best roast potato I’ve ever had on the main meat course - to die for! My husband’s favourite was the pork cheek. We particularly loved the Jerusalem artichoke on that dish. Just all unbelievable! Also, I had 2 mocktails a bramble and something like a mojito and they were both really delicious. My husband had a dessert wine that he loved. It wasn’t on the menu but was recommended as it would go so well with the dessert. We enjoyed watching the chefs cooking; they look so focused and not even tired despite having been there for 12 hours straight by the time we were eating. The service from Niall and other team members was exceptional. We remarked to each other that it is a fine dining experience but one where you feel at ease. Rather than feeling like you have to pretend to be something that you’re not, you can just relax and enjoy being served exceptionally well. Thanks to Niall and others who brought the food for attentive service. We really enjoyed the entire experience and hope we get the chance to do it again some time! Gareth has really put a great restaurant into the heart of Belfast.
