About The Moorings at Myton
Canalside gastropub specialising in home-cooked Anglo-French food. Real ales, fine wines & premium brand spirits served in a warm friendly atmosphere.
I like the Moorings - the dining style is casual and the food is consistently good. Waiting staff are attentive and friendly once you are seated at your table. What let's them down consistently in my personal experience is that there is always an uncomfortable wait at the dining area entrance for a member of staff to acknowledge us and show us to our table. Bar staff don't make eye contact and waiting staff are busy taking orders or delivering food to the other diners. It only takes a second to look up from what you're doing, smile and say "someone will be with you in a moment". Then we feel our presence has acknowledged and we don't feel like awkward, inconveniences!
Food lovely, it's just a shame you have to wait for an hour between starter and main course or chance to order additional drinks.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere - very accommodating when it came to my children’s choices
Excellent food with friendly helpful service
No problems at all - easy booking, good meal, convivial atmosphere.
Great food and great service.
All round excellent! Food always out hot. Great service. Fab chips!!!!!
Visited on New Year’s Day, this was my first visit in 12 months. Menu was fairly basic (even on NY’s day). There was basic gammon & egg at sensible prices or you could chose steak at very inflated prices. I chose the duck at £19 approx. What a disappointment. Very tough and dry. I returned the dish and they removed from bill. I filled myself up with apple crumble which was Lovely bit I’d rather pay for a nice meal. Not sure what’s going on with the moorings As sadly we won’t be back anytime soon. This used to be such a nice restaurant where it felt a special night out, for some reason it’s lost it’s charm. Please bring it back to what it was.
Last minute booking for New Years Eve and the good was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful without being intrusive
I had arranged a meal for 30 (aged 7 months to 79) to celebrate a birthday. In the run up I was always given helpful answers to my questions. At the event itself, the space allocated was ideal for the age range of the group, the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was outstanding, and the food was great. I would have no hesitation in giving The Moorings a warm recommendation to anyone (in fact, I already have!)
Could not be faulted, service in particular was excellent, friendly and attentive, well done to Dom and his team. Food was super, lovely selection of veg, home smoked salmon delicious, and veggie option got top marks. Very helpful with my nieces allergies. (We didn't get any Petit Fours?).
A busy day so quite a long wait for lunch, but the manager was gracious and attentive and the food was very good.
Staff very accommodating and food delicious.
My husband and often have lunch/dinner at the Moorings and haven't been disappointed yet :-)
Perfect Boxing Day lunch. Compliments to kitchen and front of house. High standards throughout. Wonderful as always!
Lovely meal - service excellent.
Super busy as Xmas but as usual the staff were attentive and service was very good. Always a good selection on the menu - excellent quality.
We came for Christmas Day dinner as a party of 9 adults and 2 kids and we couldn’t fault the service at all. The food was amazing and the waiters and waitresses were friendly, helpful and professional. We’ve never eaten out on Christmas Day before but we most definitely be back to the moorings. Thanks for making Christmas Day so fabulous.
We had a lovely day , staff were extremely friendly and , given that it was Christmas day, very welcoming and cheerful. The food was tasty, hot and portion size was good. Each course arrived to all 8 of us at the same time and we were able to stay at the table on completion of our meal . Well done to all the staff from our arrival to departure you were great.
Team were great and made the event very nice, thank you!!
Fantastic Sunday lunch
Lovely venue and excellent service. A little pricier than other places for a festive menu lunch but food was superb. I would have expected tea and coffee to be included in the price.
Food and drinks are good. Atmosphere so and so, especially if you seat near the entrance and you get cold air in winter. Service is not bad even if the staff often almost run among the tables. Overall Value for money is not bad because food and drinks are good. With few tweaks to atmosphere and service it could become a beautiful experience.
The food was very good but our table was upstairs and felt really cold. The service however was disappointing, the staff were friendly but not at all attentive. I had to get up a few times to get some attention. I have been numerous times before and was always happy, this time I was not impressed.
