About The Moorcock Inn
Country pub & restaurant overlooking Norland Moor. Utilising local and homegrown produce, cooked over charcoal. Natural wines, local and Belgian beers.
Absolutely stunning food, great beers as well, immaculate service, reasonable prices, nothing to improve! And that’s RARE.
A first class experience, delicious food and a wonderful ambience in the bare, stripped-back pub interior. We'll be back soon if we can get a table!
Brilliant once again. Can't fault anything. Personally I'd say in terms of value for money this is the best dining experience in the UK right now. And so lucky it's almost on my doorstep!
Very good food and very good service. We had the recommended wines with the menu and they were excellent too. Better than anything I’ve had in Leeds or Manchester.
We had a great time, thank you!
Fabulous food and fabulous service - love this place so much
Wonderful food (especially the puff ball). Just make sure you put the right Moorcock Inn into your satnav!! (There are more than one - made us a good 25 minutes late!) lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere. This is how to do a tasting menu!
An excellent experience all round
Fantastic food as always. Pushes taste buds especially with the fish courses. Interesting wine and knowledgeable staff. Thank you! We’ll be back!
Had a fantastic time. Enjoyed every morsel and every moment.. Great food and the way it is presented is a form of entertainment.. Very friendly staff. Can't wait to return.
Brilliant evening and outstanding value for money. Some excellent and unusual presentations for food and the sommelier wine matches were so interesting and effective. Just a shame we are a 6 hour drive away! But it was well worth our detour on our way to the Lake District from Devon
We have already booked again it’s amazing
A very interesting meal, worth coming just for the bread! Hope to see the grill in action next time we come Not sure about the crockery, but really enjoyed ourselves, will recommend to friends
Flavours were too intense, too many fish dishes that tasted too similar , tartar had too many leaves and not cold enough. Bread and butter great! Portions quite small hence loads of bread! The cup of tea should not count as a course or the bread. It was a 4 small course meal really!
Interesting taster menu. All very well presented and well prepared. Friendly and helpful staff. Unpretentious. An unusual and enjoyable experience.
Absolutely fantastic experience, already looking forward to our next visit.
Staff were professional and friendly and we had a relaxed and very enjoyable evening. Thank you
What a fantastic meal! Every course interesting, different, imaginative but also delicious. The wine flight was equally brilliant with unusual and perfectly matched choices. A credit to the very knowledgable Aimee the sommelier. Service equally perfect, relaxed but precise. A great evening and very good value. We are so lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep. Destined for great things no doubt.
An amazing meal, thank you so much for a lovely evening. Everything was absolutely delicious!
Excellent food and wine, dining alone not always easy but I was made to feel very welcome
We thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. We loved the unusual ingredients and the balance between courses. It’s great that the menu changes daily and that a lot of the ingredients are from the garden. I loved the crockery. The atmosphere is casual. The staff were friendly, efficient, helpful and chatty. I shall definitely visit again. My only comment is that there is no signage to the Moorcock when travelling towards it from the Ripponden direction.
We very much enjoyed our first visit to the Moorcock, Thank you
A wonderful eating experience. The friendly, knowledgeable team gave excellent service. We will be back!
I can not recommend the Moorcock highly enough. Over the summer of 2018, my wife and I have eaten the tasting menu twice and the bar snacks once. Each time the food has been exceptional, particularly given the value. The pub is in a lovely setting and is well worth a visit.
