About The Moody Boar
“Original unpretentious tasty and fresh – and obviously cooked by one who loves food”
Our restaurant, The Moody Boar is located in the Palace Demesne Public Park in Armagh. It has been born out of a Love Food concept (eat, relax, enjoy). We grow our own herbs and vegetables in the restaurant garden and from foraging in the park.
We Love Food to be fresh, homemade and full of flavour, ensuring respect for the ingredients that we use and the dishes we produce; therefore everything made in the restaurant has been made from scratch.
This also crosses over into the restaurants relaxed, quirky and stylish interior.

nice meal nice place will definitely go again
I brought a bus load of close friends to the Moody Boar to celebrate my husbands retirement. We were located in the private dining area which is very cosy and homely. Everyone was blown away by the atmosphere, food and staff. Thank you!
Excellent food and service. Thank you. Would highly recommend.
Lovely meal with excellent food and atmosphere. Staff obliging and setting beautiful.
Great venue for dinner. Overly experience.
Our 3rd.visit to this restaurant, this time we had 2 family members with us their 1st visit,as usual we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The only problem is as we live in South Belfast it is a little too far to frequent on a regular basis.
We ate relaxed and enjoyed. Perfect Sunday lunch time treat. Will definitely be back.
We ate here early on Friday evening after booking online. There service was attentive and the menu has a reasonable selection of mains. There was some confusion about one of the fish dishes - waiter thought it was hake; waitress said it had been changed to cod- anyway it tasted good although the accompanying vegetables could have been a bit more generous; I suggest ordering a side or a side to share. The Belfast pale ale is top drawer and the wine is fairly priced. I'm sure we will go again though it's 40 miles away for us.
Excellent restaurant. Anyone who appreciates good food has to try this place. Best in Armagh
Great good. Lovely surroundings. Good choice for a catch up with old pals.
Prebooked our meal, correspondences on Moody Boars side were constantly wrong. Never mentioned a service charge and got charged later. Never mentioned a time limit of an hour and a half on our 2 course meal and then tea and coffee for 18 adults and two kids until the day before in an email. We were practically chased out of the restaurant and my husband was asked to settle the bill very loudly in front of all of our family in the middle of his speech. Food was amazing, the restaurant looks fantastic but there were very little smiles and conversation from staff. We were the only booking in the restaurant and it's no surprise!
Such a lovely venue with tremendous food. Cannot wait to visit again soon.
Beautiful restaurant and the food was exceptional. Will defiantly be back. The staff were so helpful and friendly.
Delicious food very well presented; lovely friendly staff knowledgeable about the menu and fully engaged with customers. To cap it off it was great value for money. I would encourage anyone who loves great food to get themselves over to Armagh and discover this hidden gem for yourselves. Jeff :)
Excellent food and great blues music. A super way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Another delightful dining experience at The Moody Boar. As someone who is both dairy and gluten intolerant I am always pleasantly surprised by the range and quality of the dishes from which I can choose. This visit I decided to sample one of the imaginative vegan options, the cauliflower steak. It was delicious. Packed with flavour. The chefs here are quite simply amazing at coming up with dishes that make dining out for people with dietary restrictions a truly pleasurable experience. 5*
Lovely courtyard Friendly courteous staff
Beautiful meal and restaurant.
amazing food, gorgeous cocktails, quirky space
Met friends here after work for early bird menu choice. Food was truly delicious, and we would definitely recommend.
We arrived for breakfast, which one of my friends was gluten free. The fry was the only gluten free option on the menu which we were happy enough with but then the waiter came back to tell us that the sausages being used were not gluten free? this was disappointing as all my friend could get was gluten free bread eggs and beans then. I also asked for bacon with my pancakes- which the waiter came back to advise me that they had ran out of bacon! another disappointment and a bit bizzare especially of a Saturday morning when you would expect to be busy. Other than that the service was grand as the guy tried his best to accomodate us- but still on the pricey side - £25 for 3 people for breakfast. I was hoping to have my hen party breakfast here and just hope that you are more prepared then for breakfast.
Excellent food and service as always. Best restaurant in armagh
All great, we'll be back!
Beautiful meal etc. Would have liked some chocolate on the menu but apart from that excellent flavours etc
