About The Monro
A short walk from the vibrancy of Liverpool One, The Monro is your perfect sanctuary. Think home-cooked food, log fire, courtyard-garden and more. A bit like home, but better.
Maybe it was because it was a sunday but it was lacking the magic I was expected from all the reviews I saw...
excellent service provided by Alex and his front of house team - would recommend to everyone - thank you.
The food was delicious - although it is always good here
Great food, service and location - highly recommended
Disappointed with my choice of main meal the belly pork was tender but 50% fat and outer skin was under cooked and not crisp. The chocolate mousse was ok.
Saturday evening meal whilst visiting Liverpool. Staff were friendly but did seem stretched, there was a table of 16 to be seen to. We were lucky that we arrived slightly early and were able to place our order to fit around this large party - the couple next to us had to wait 45 minutes for their meal! I can guarantee we would have walked out before then. The food was fine, the batter on the fish could have been crispier but had worse. We weren't given a drinks menu when we sat down so had to guess what soft drinks were available.
Fabulous meal - we were celebrating my dads 70th and the staff were above and beyond to make it special.
Great place, great food and great service!
As usual perfect service and perfect meal. Would have paid more for the same in other places. It is my favourite Liverpool restaurant and am always booking a table if I am in the area, which I am a few times a year. Pleased it is still open. Was a bit upset The James closed as they introduced me to The Monro through a good review. I wish I lived a bit closer. I’d be in the restaurant every month.
Great Sunday Lunch!
First visit to The Monro and we will definitely be returning. Can't believe we have never eaten here before!
first time will come again staff five star
After having high hopes I was really disappointed with the standard of the food. The roast potatoes were served stone cold. The nice waitress was quick to bring me a plate of hot ones however they are probably the worst roast potatoes I’ve ever eaten. The meat was fatty (both the lamb and beef) The only nice thing was the cauliflower and gravy.
The roast dinner was awful also waited 10 minutes for them to bring over my drink when my partner had already received his.
Good table service. Staff very pleasant and friendly.
Was recommended as staying in Liverpool for 3 days, and I ate at your place twice, so has to be good. I would like to thank your staff for being friendly and helpful and a special mention for Kevin ( tell him I bring the Tie up next time I'm in Town. Cheers John.e
We had an absolutely fabulous time. We were made to feel so welcome and important, Alex the general manager had spent a lot of time ensuring my dad's dietary requirements were met and was incredibly attentive and informative, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious, as was the generous amounts of wine! I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful memory!
Cold soup .. almost ate half of main meal before vinegar arrived Wasn’t as busy as normal yet service seemed slacker
Staff need a course in customer service, lacking in people skills
Lovely meal. Early evening meal with family Lovely food and friendly service. Had fish and chips. Really enjoyed.
Excellent British food with an original touch and a nice presentation
Excellent food and service. Drinks pricey! Would recommend.
Fabulous Sunday lunch all courses delicious, great value for money.
Varied and interesting menu choices. Fish cooked to perfection with delicious sauce. Wonderful meal during our trip to Liverpool.
