About The Monro
A short walk from the vibrancy of Liverpool One, The Monro is your perfect sanctuary. Think home-cooked food, log fire, courtyard-garden and more. A bit like home, but better.
Outstanding service and food. A fantastic team that really looked after myself and family for Sunday lunch. Thank you!
3 of us ate - 2 had excellent meals but the third had a poor beef lasagne - service was excellent and drinks great
Great service and generous amount of fine food. All around good experience
Great ambiance Great team Great food. Comfortable. We will be back
One of the worst Sunday roasts I’ve ever had
Great food and friendly,efficient service.
Little bit slow in service and also lacking in options for vegetarian however waiter did explain there was an issue with chef change over
Good Quality food. Attentive Staff great place to eat
Atendimento gentil e local muito, muito aconchegante. Vale a pena conhecer.
Great food and attentive bit not intrusive service. Open fire was gorgeous.
Disappointing after bringing friends from Birmingham Waiter was professional but when girl brought food out which wasn’t ours gave us all the filthiest look and walked back to kitchen no words ? Spring rolls spinach and feta ice cold in middle didn’t want to complain in front of friends
We’ve been visiting The Monro for many years and it never disappoints. We frequently take visiting family there for a treat, as well as recommending to friends
One starter arrived and we asked 15 minutes later what had happened to the other two starters.10minutes later the other two starters arrived We weren’t offered the mother’s day Prosecco (advertised) The roast potatoes were soggy the veg was disappointing the beef/lamb cooked perfect
Very generous portions well cooked friendly staff.
Great food Good service
Very enjoyable meal with family. We were told of a possible delay in service due to being so busy but the delay was minimal. Well looked after by our lovely Irish server.
Really lovely food, great atmosphere and lovely staff.
Menu is a bit confusing, particularly the stuffed chicken option. The menu isn’t very cohesive; Asian and Mediterranean starters followed by a roast! Limited desert options- there was no cheese cake available, so only sticky toffee pudding (which had a surcharge) or ice cream. Serving staff didn’t seem to have set tables to look after so multiple staff would repeat questions and then we would have periods of not having anybody available. Roast dinner was really tasty but needed to be served on a bigger plate; Yorkshire pudding was balanced on top and the thin gravy was running off the plate.
Was looking forward to our visit, unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Soup lukewarm, pitta breads overly salted, dip tasteless, roast dinner very bland and my wife’s lamb was just fat, no cheese cake that was on menu. All in all let down.
The folks at The Monro were unreal. They looked after 9 fragile human beings with such finesse and care it has to be screamed about. Amber was soooo kind and understanding, she honestly couldn’t do more for us.
My son and I came for the Sunday roast. Although the food was edible (just), it wasn’t up to the standard I remember from when we’ve visited previously . Extremely runny cheese sauce on the cauliflower cheese,(which I’m not a fan of on a roast dinner) which drowned my vegetables and the base of the yorkshire pudding. Three miniscule roast potatoes which were so pale on top, yet burnt on the bottom. For dessert, I had the Ferrero rocher cheese cake which was awful . It was hard like a brick, dry and served with a teaspoon of coulis (presentation was terrible). The only stars of the meal was the roast beef ,gravy and the part of the Yorkshire pudding which survived the cheese sauce also the sticky toffee pudding which my son demolished. The staff and service was great as always, but the food was definitely “meh” yesterday. Doubt I’d return again.
Excellent service from efficient and friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food.
Overall the whole experience, food service and atmosphere were excellent. But not doing Bloody Mary,s on a Sunday is a sin. Or are they just not popular up there.?
The staff and in particular one of the waiters made the difference between a good and a great Sunday lunch - he even did the most unfathomable card tricks at the table! Also, they very kindly recognised my son's birthday with a candle topped cheesecake which despite being 22 made his day. The only downside was running out of horseradish sauce for my roast beef but as you can tell i can certainly live with that for all the other benefits!
Amazing Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all. The lamb in particular was beautiful. The Ferraro Roche vheecake was to die for. Service was excellent. Will be returning soon
