About The Monro
A short walk from the vibrancy of Liverpool One, The Monro is your perfect sanctuary. Think home-cooked food, log fire, courtyard-garden and more. A bit like home, but better.
Food excellent value, service very good. Drinks a little over priced.
We had a lovely meal and great service at the Monro. The only constructive feedback we could offer is to improve the nut roast recipe and to offer more gravy to the table (perhaps as a jug so people could add the amount that suits them?)
Lovely choice on the menu- very enjoyable meal with very helpful staff
Overcharged for our meal, it was off the daily menu they charged of the main menu. Pointed out the error. The new food menu is not very good, it is limited. The restaurant was practically empty by 9pm Saturday night. It used to be full. I think they have taken there eye of the ball as far as the food is concerned. The pub is good but I would not eat there again. It was very disappointing as it used to be so good.
Toilets both ladies and gents could be improved.
Enjoyed a lovely meal
I visited the Munro with my Mum for the Giants event. We both had an excellent time. Great drinks and the food was top notch. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back again soon.
Food was delicious, service not quite the same standard but would go back again
We were returning to the restaurant for the first time in around 5 years. After eating there yesterday we are wondering why it took us so long! Food was excellent, the wine good value for money and service really good. Will be back soon!!
Lovely place to eat, shame they ran out of a couple of things we wanted to order but I guess the influx of visitors for The Giants had an impact. The food we ate was lovely and the cocktails were sublime
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff were great. Even held our mains till the Giants passed. Would recommend. I had the chicken ballotine and husband the pork belly.
Really good home made Sunday lunch. Nice atmosphere too, will definitely eat here again
Excellent. Came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Excellent Sunday lunch on our visit to see our son studying in Liverpool. We will return soon
Had the 3 courses. Starters and desserts were good. Main was disapointing with burnt yorkshire pudding. For the price I expected the mains to be better.
Late being seated to a reserved table by 40 minutes Food sent back as was missing items Food looks nothing like the pictures on the website Ice cream was minimal and mostly melted Really quite disappointed
Great service and relaxing atmosphere in great historic surroundings, with the food cooked to perfection.
Really good food
Brilliant staff, service, delicious food & a beautiful room. Big thanks to Alex and Steph for making our party so perfect! Would highly recommend.
Food good and service fine but when the bill came we had been overcharged. As there were nine of us we had been asked to provide our food choices in advance which we did. I did explain 7 of us had ordered from the Early Evening menu and 2 from the main menu but when the bill came we were charged £90 extra and had to query the bill. We were told that the menu had changed and the early evening menu (2 courses for £15) no longer existed. This was despite when the choices were provided we advised this was where the choices were from. In fairness they did correct the bill and then charged u as we expected but I feel this should have been done right away. Additionally despite we had spent in excess of £200 the girl came back and told us we had underpaid by 78p and asked for this - I feel given there was already a service charge included this was bad form and it could have been taken from the service charge.
I was very disappointed with Sunday lunch on Sunday I had two small slices of lamb it was as though the chef had run out of meat? The potatoes were burnt likewise so was the Yorkshire pudding absolutely cremated.
Friendly staff, cosy place. Food was great.
Great Sunday lunch in relaxed surroundings
Very understaffed poor girls where up the wall. Waiting over a hour 15 for roast dinner. When come it was cold and very undercooked . Shame as had brought our friends who where visiting the city
Food was amazing as always! Table service a little slow and pretty cold if your sat next to the windows but overall we always have a lovely time!
