About The Mill St Catherine's Park
After All Day Breakfast on New Year’s Eve, The Mill will close for approximately 6 weeks to allow for the most disruptive works to be carried out as part of our exciting extension project.
The Mill Outside – our outside catering – continues to be available to cater for your private functions and events in the community throughout the time the café is closed. Please visit www.themillatstcatherinespark.co.uk for more information and to make an enquiry, or call 01772 695277.
Our welcoming café serves up hearty and wholesome dishes lovingly prepared using locally sourced, seasonal produce. There's everything from top quality barista coffees - including our own unique St Catherine's blend - to cakes, soups, salads, sandwiches, afternoon teas and full meals on offer. You can relax and unwind in a tranquil spot, whilst enjoying a treat from the varied, seasonal menu.
The Mill is open to everyone – from business people networking over coffee, to families tucking into tea and cake, or friends enjoying a meal out together. Set in the amazing grounds of St Catherine’s Park – a green space which includes a small but beautiful sensory garden and a wetland and woodland area – The Mill gives you a reason to drop by.
The café and the rest of the building also benefits from free WiFi, making it a perfect choice for business meetings – particularly as it’s just minutes from the major motorway networks of the M6, M61 and M65. And the best bit? All profits raised through the café will go back to supporting the specialised care of St Catherine’s Hospice.
A pleasant way to spend time with friends for lunch. Food was delicious as always. Staff very friendly and very apologetic that they couldn’t allow us to keep the table beyond the 90 minute time slot. It really wasn’t a problem. It was nice to see the cafe so busy.
As always a great place to catch up with friends over delicious food
Lovely place and good food. Need to book though as it gets very busy.
We really enjoyed it, a great time was had by all
The air conditioning can be too much. Glad I had two jumpers on. The cafe assistants are an asset and The Mill should be very proud of them.
The Christmas Afternoon Tea was brilliant. The soup was lovely and the gingerbread cake was delicious. I am taking another friend next week as I enjoyed it so much!
Our party of four felt the festive afternoon tea was delicious. Lots of variety and a gluten free option just as tasty which isn’t always the case. Our only disappointment was that drinks were not unlimited. A second pot of tea was an extra charge. Other afternoon teas we have had locally provide refills as required.
We went for afternoon tea and it was absolutely fabulous. Would definitely do it again.
A really great cafe and all for a brilliant cause. I booked a table this time because it is always busy when I pass through - which shows how good a place it is.
Great place to meet people. Food always high standard. Glad you are always so busy.
A lovely space to meet friends . Great atmosphere and food. With good service. Would like to see some menu changes though. Dont think menu has changed much since The Mill opened
It was all beautiful. If I had to say one negative it is that the draft when the doors are open is pretty cold so I kept my coat on all the time I was there but I suppose it can't be helped, but like I said it was beautiful food.
This was a birthday treat for my friend, we came on a recommendation. We were looked after really well and will definately come again.
It was a very enjoyable afternoon and the food was delicious.
An excellent place for either a cuppa and cake or a meal. Locally sourced food prepared to a high standard by very pleasant and obliging staff. We await the extension and are sure that the staff will ensure that there is no change in atmosphere.
Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff .
Had my booking for a week yet couldn’t be bothered to inform me that there was no access on 02 December due to a Christmas event. Not even disabled access. Was told to park half a mile away at Sainsbury’s and walk down or use a park and ride which was absolutely useless as we were arriving 5 mins before the reservation. Needless to say the lady we spoke to was completely unhelpful and actually insinuated it was our fault. Birthday breakfast completely ruined. Won’t be returning. Found a much better place at nearby Duxburys
We asked for hot milk with our coffee but got cold milk then waited absolutley ages for the hot milk to arrive, by which time our Coffee was cold! Sandwhiches dried up quickly and the smoked salmon tasted strange, not off but not right. Cakes were lovely but scone was dry. When we had eaten out meal christmas crackers arrived (a bit late.) As it was a Christmas afternoon tea they should have been on the table. I also wish that when I booked it i had been told it was the christmas fair. We couldn't gain access Into the car park so we're forced to use park and ride which was fine untill we came out at 3.30 and unbeknown to us we had missed the last bus. My mother who is 76 couldn't manage to walk at least 2 miles back to the car. The temperatures had dropped and it was freezing. I Was frantic and didnt know what to do so in the end I had to get a freind to collect us and take up to the park and ride. What a disaster! Lorraine
We had my retirement lunch here (6 of us) the service and food were terrific. Thank you, Marion
Can be very noisy when full but everyone very friendly and helpful and food good
Efficient service.Friendly helpful staff. Didn’t feel rushed. Delicious food.
Such a lovely atmosphere- lovely friendly staff- breakfasts are so tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
It was for my aunties birthday and they had put some balloons up and a cake with a candle plus sang happy birthday. It was a beautiful touch. The food was lovely too.
I am a regular diner and as always the food was amazing and the service friendly - a lovely place to lunch either with friends or colleagues.
Amazing winter hotpot and great service
