About The Manor Restaurant
A tastefully converted 17th century listed building, set within a beautiful landscaped courtyard, located in Greasby Village at the heart of the Wirral Peninsula. The choice of decor at the Manor offers a sophisticated yet hushed elegance and you are always assured of a warm welcome from our friendly and informed staff. Monday to Saturday, during the day we serve high quality lunches and every evening from 5pm we offer our superb dinner menu, on a Sunday traditional roasts are our speciality!
Whenever this large group of us have been in the past, we never felt ‘rushed’ and enjoyed being able to linger and chat. However, this time was different- from the email confirmation asking for the table back at 3pm to the lady who pointed out we had booked for 1pm when we still hadn’t ordered at 1.15pm due to two latecomers, I just felt a bit uncomfortable and as if we were being hurried along and as I say, that has never happened before. Still enjoyed it but not as much as previous times and we all ended up going to The Red Cat next door for coffee and to linger a while linger. (I did email to ask if we could have the table till 4pm but never received a reply).
roast potatoes were not very crisp or cooked very well.
Have been here many times and can honestly say it is always an enjoyable experience!
The waitress Freya was lovely
I was impressed with the speed and efficiency of the table service. The food as ever was of the highest quality and very good value for money.
Visited The Manor on Thursday 25th July. Returning to Merseyside on a flying visit - just had to return for another super meal. Wonderful atmosphere with excellent service by all the staff. Special compliments to the chef and all in the kitchen.
Many years since been to The Manor. Would prefer garden peas which are hot with fish and chips rather than the cold pea puree. Apart from that a lovely meal and will definitely return. Efficient staff and a nice ambience.
We were a party of 11 and children on a sunday afternoon. The beef roast was very tough and the yorkshire pudding soggy, the other meals came out but had no veg so they then had to wait while their dinner was going cold. My son had the fish cake starter which is only one now and there is a 1.50 supplement and it was very tasty. When we got the bill they had over charged us on several items and they didnt even take the deposit off. Overall i don,t think i will be going back it was for a special occassion but it didn,t feel very special.
We had a lovely meal, staff very attentive and pleasant.
We waited 15 mins for a bowl of olives and when they arrived they were covered in sauce?! All we had to pick them up were plastic toothpicks... Our starters were lovely. My steak however looked a bit like a roadside cafe serving when it arrived, 2 small mushrooms and a load of chips! it tasted fine though. Don't get me wrong the meal was nice it just lacked detail. They were very busy so perhaps that was it. Also it looked like it was under new management since i last went in Nov 2018
Always great food, although this time didn't quite feel the same as wasn't busy at all. Never been with only 4 couples from 7:30 to 9:00.
I ordered the rump of lamb and asked for it to be cooked well done. The meal was excellent, the lamb was very tender and delicious. My husband had the hake, again an excellent meal. Staff were attentive and friendly. Thank you.
We had a lovely roast dinner which was served by a couple of pleasent young ladies. The food was plentiful and the table we were given was in my opinion one of the best. We always enjoy coming here because the quality of food and the place itself
The only comment I can make is a negative one regarding the atmosphere the wasn’t any really. Waitresses were obliging and happy to help.
One of the diners was in a wheelchair and the staff were very very helpful and considerate. The service was excellent and the food, as ever, also excellent. The Manor has a smart but relaxed atmosphere which is ideal for a special occasion
Had a lovely visits to the manor as always lovely staff fab food .cant recommend the manor enough beautiful surroundings ,this was for my husbands birthday he had never been before he loved it will be back again .
The usual, enjoyable and efficient service and an enjoyable experience as ever.
A lovely personal service in a comfortable uncrowded setting. Food cooked to perfection thank you 😊
Beautiful setting, lovely food and super friendly staff. Highly recommended. Look forward to going again.
The food and service was very bad and we will not be going to the Manor again. The soup was cold, complaints from diners about the food generally were very bad.
Superb meal with great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the crab and sweetcorn fritters and the chicken was excellent too. Highly recommend
We were very impressed we our first visit to The Manor. Everything was perfect for a birthday celebration... From the service, menu & food and the welcoming and very obliging staff. Would highly recommend bro anyone and look forward to making return visits
Lovely food and a good range. Staff are fantastic. No one rushes you and there is a lovely seating area for after dinner tea. Thank you for a lovely evening.
