About Rhinefield House Hotel
At Rhinefield House Hotel we delight guests with our traditional afternoon tea. What better place to enjoy this fine tradition than in this historic country house. Gaze out the ceiling high windows in either our Lounge Bar or Grill Room and take in the view whilst savouring each of our carefully prepared pastries, dainty sandwiches and the finest leaf tea, served to perfection.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and made every effort to make our visit special.
Great service from Rhinefield House. Staff were very kind and attentive.
Lounge bar felt outdated and in need to renovation and didn’t fit with the country feel of the hotel. Signage around the hotel was poor and not enough staff around to direct you e.g to find the lounge bar and to find the toilets
We’ve had many afternoon teas at Rhinefield, the atmosphere and food is absolutely delightful. The staff are superb and nothing is ever too much for them. They’re polite, friendly, professional and eager to provide the best service available. There’s a new winter afternoon tea menu which has to be the best to date! I had the savoury and my partner had the sweet. I can’t rate the food enough, it’s truly delicious and ample, so much so we ended up taking some home with us! I have to extend a special thanks to both Petar and Sandy for making our afternoon tea so special. They truly are a credit to Rhinefield!
I loved the experience both of the times I went for afternoon tea! Everyone is very nice, the Place is amazing and the food super nice! Thank you. The only thing I would improve are the scotch eggs in the savoury afternoon tea. I would suggest if it is for one to do mini quail eggs rather than a big one that has been cut. And perhaps a bit of salt in the fish batter and scotch egg. However everything was very nice and have booked another two afternoon teas.
i was quite disappointed we were not placed in the original part of the house in the dining room as pictured on the website when booking but down a corridor into a newer part of the house that was not authentic at all and felt more like a modern cheaper hotel - . although the food was lovely the sandwiches were a bit dry. not what i was hoping for for my mums special birthday - and quite a dissaointment.
Such a beautiful place.... wonderful autumn colours on the trees within the grounds. Good and staff was just wonderful. It was my second visit but my friends first and she loved every minute.
I booked an afternoon tea to celebrate my friends birthday. When we arrived we found that the hotel has been closed for an exclusive wedding, of which we were reminded by staff on numerous occasions. Unfortunately we had not been provided with this information prior to arriving. Had we been made aware we probably would have rebooked. The food was lovely, however the overall experience left a bitter taste in my mouth and I just wish when I received our reminder email about our booking 3 days before, we would have been informed of the situation. We were catered for in a room used for fine dining, but constantly interrupted by staff plonking down boxes and finding correct light switches to ensure the wedding was catered for perfectly. There was no atmosphere and my friend and I were left feeling that we were getting in the way. Very disappointing as we had heard great things at Rhinefield House Hotel. Our experience fell very short of good!
I have been to the Rhinefield on previous occasions and have had a lovely time. This time one of the waiting staff, a woman, behaved as though the last place she wanted to be was serving us. None of the food was described to us, the coffee was luke warm and had been poured at least 10mins before the milk arrived. A disappointing experience for my mother's 90th. Thankfully the surroundings made up for one staff member's poor attitude. I would like to add that the cleaner who showed us where the toilets were was very pleasant and helpful and had a different attitude entirely.
Specifically requested a table by the pond window as it was my wife's 70th birthday. But a table was not made available. I was very disappointed as this was a very special occasion for us and had been requested at the time of booking.
Was a lovely afternoon
Lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The perfect treat, thank you
The tea was a golden wedding anniversary present from our family . The tea was amazing, but what will stick in our minds more were the waiters they were fantastic! Please could you pass on our thanks.
We love Rhinefield (being our wedding venue in Oct 2020). Such beautiful surroundings with a warm familiar and comfortable atmosphere about it. Our afternoon tea was lovely - beautiful to sit looking over the pond. Selection was really nice and a good spread of differing offerings. Thank you!
Excellent value for money and so nice to have champagne rather than Prosecco. Wonderful view over the water. Very comfy seats
A wonderful experience. We brought our friends from France for a typical English Experience(it even rained!). They were very impressed.
Had a fab time yesterday, every thing was fantastic as always, drove two hours, for two hours of relaxation gorgeous afternoon tea, and amazing surroundings, 7 weeks since my weekend stay, can’t wait till my next stay in February..
I last visited you about 18 months ago first for a breakfast on a Sunday and it was very poor and I wrote and complained and you sent a gift voucher for £50 which I used for a dinner. But it was very expensive and the staff were not trained very well. This time a great improvement staff were very good. The only thing that put us off was the amount of people bringing cases through while we were eating. I do hope this helps as I was in business most of my working life. Thank you Michael Richer
Fantastic location to while away an afternoon tea looking out into the gardens with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly efficient staff, not to forget the tasty food and great selection of teas. Thanks to all at Rhinefield House for making this possible.
We had a fantastic afternoon, just would have been nice for the waitress to come over and check all was ok and offer more milk the jug was too small for two pots of tea
Your English Breakfast tea is horrible, it has a perfume smell and dosent taste right. Had 2 pots but both the same. My daughter didn’t mind it but agreed it wasn’t normal
A wonderful experience with lovely food and excellant customer service. The best afternoon tea in the area especially when it is on special offer. Highly recommend.
It was very busy but we still felt relaxed and had a wonderful time and staff were lovely and welcoming and attentive. I would definitely come back again. Xxx
Wonderful afternoon. Despite the fact the hotel was very busy the staff were polite, friendly and cheerful. Service was excellent and the afternoon tea was delicious. We were even provided with a take home box for the bits we could not eat. Will definitely be back.
Didn’t like seeing people sitting in the restaurant in their dressing gowns. Also, too many people walking through with suitcases. The staff were very friendly & lovely however they were very busy & we had to go up to the bar when we wanted things like extra drinks
