About The Long Dog
Supercool village pub serving only freshly prepared food based on pub classics and world favourites. Chilled atmosphere with excellent cocktails, wine, real ales, open fires and a fortnightly jazz club.
Availability
Having booked in advance We arrived only to find that the restaurant had grossly overbooked and then tried to seat us in a walkway area where the door opened and everybody would be walking into our table. We decided to leave as the atmosphere was too busy with screaming children and no where proper to sit. Very disappointed.
👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent midweek lunch with friends, excellent food and good service. Will definitely visit again.
It was very cold In there and our food order was mixed up which meant two of our party had their meals first and two of the party had to wait.
Would highly recommend The Long Dog, the food was amazing and the service was great.
Great food great service
Found our bill a little on the expensive side but thoroughly enjoyed our meal and good service.
Good
Excellent food and service even though very busy. Would recommend!
Excellent gastropub - great food and good range of ales (which I couldn't touch as driving!).
Our first visit so didn't know what to except but since Long Dog was listed in the Good Pub Guide and NOT a hotel, we thought we would try it for lunch. There was a very good selection of lunches and all three of us each found a great choice. And truly great quality. Thank you. We'll be sure to return.
An excellent lunch
Lovely food, great service and very helpful staff
Friendly service, good food, good value for money, a good central location for me (Tring) to meet my ex-work colleague (Brackley).
Good selection of food for all ages. Tasted good too,
We had a lovely lunch at this pub. Service was great. Tapas was really good. I wasn't that keen on the nut roast but the rest of the Sunday lunch was good. All the tapas looked amazing so I think this is their strength. Would definitely go back if we were in the area again.
Amazing staff and tasty food! It’s relaxed and very friendly.
Great service! Loverly pub!!
we were really disappointed with the Sunday roasts. It was luke warm, the potatoes were rock hard, the meat was too Pink and the bill included 10% service charge, which my sister missed when paying. Would not come back nor recommend
A thoroughly enjoyable evening, a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere...very welcoming. Choice of food was perfect although if we are totally honest , once received it wasn’t as excellent as the last time we visited. Still wonderful but just not outstanding. Waitress was lovely, very attentive and friendly. We will be back
We had a lovely meal. Beautifully cooked and delicious. I had lamb tegine and my husband had pie of the day, both we will have again when we return! Christina (Italian lady) and the team looked after us very well. Thank you and see you again soon.
It was our first visit, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly, will definitely be back
Great food, amazing Jazz in a lovely atmosphere, the waitress was attentive and the food was served in a relxed way and was well presented and delicious. We enjoy the Jazz night which is every Fortnite on a Tuesday.
Usual great food with the exception of the flat iron steak which wasn’t edible. This was taken off the bill. Excellent service from Cameron who was very attentive.
The menu seems to have changed since last we visited. There seems less for non-meat eaters than before.
