While we did enjoy our dinner and the atmosphere, we were upset to find that the restaurant did not have our reservation - even though I emailed ahead to request a copy of the menu and mentioned how excited we were to go. We managed to get seated at a table but I felt as though it was my fault for not phoning up to confirm. Would recommend fixing the reservation system, otherwise as stated before, the food, service and atmosphere was just as we expected! We'll definitely be back, but we might call ahead next time!
Fantastic service and great food - 30 people fed and watered with ease. Julie was fantastic helping me organise the dinner, very professional and went out of her way to secure our booking. Thanks to all the staff who helped create a great evening!
Great service, lovely food, very child friendly
Good food, service, relaxed atmosphere. For our party of 7 it hit the spot, we were not not looking for a fine ding experience, just a good variety of good quality pub grub. The Lamb tagine, burgers, chicken wings, calamari, scallops and belly pork all went down well. I would prefer my belly pork with a good crispy crackling rather than soft but this was the only issue we had.
Delicious food as always. I had the cod which was cooked to perfection. Very friendly service. We will be back soon
Lovely friendly service, great food with a wide choice of ingredients, the venison pie was the best ever. Wine choice is great and a good price. Shame we live so far away or we would be regulars but anytime we are over that way we will visit. Thanks for a really tasty meal. Definitely the best food in Waddesdon.
We had my dad’s birthday meal here. Outstanding service and food! Highly recommend, the staff are very lovely!
There were 14 of us but we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were all efficient & friendly. The food all arrived at the same time. No one was kept waiting. Very nice all round. Thank you
Amazing friendly service. So accommodating of us and our two very young children. Lovely food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
Great meal. Staff were friendly. Will Deffo be back.
It was great that you were able to seat us very quickly when we arrived so early wet and cold thank you
Friendly pub.
A welcome when we arrived. Great atmosphere.
Always made to feel welcome by rob and the rest of the staff
Great food and your staff were absolutely lovely!
Lovely pub with open fire and great food
Food was average, sprouts were reheated and inedible. The place was a little rough around the edges, wouldn’t rush to go back!
We visited in the summer and loved it and we came back with 6 of out friednds to visit Waddesdon Manor. We live a way off and as all of them are keen foodies I was hoping that they would love it. We had a fabulous evening and the food and atmosphere was wonderful. It’s the perfect English pub. Great friendly staff food that is fabulous and reasonably priced. We all wished it was our local.
Staff made this place a very pleasant lunch experience
Lovely Pub with nice atmosphere and good food. Great for families
Great Pub/Restaurant, outstanding services and good food.
Good pub food after a day at Waddesdon. Really friendly and helpful staff especially with food allergies. Helpful in taking the kids order first and serving them first. :-)
Fantastic pile of tapas, every bit of it tasty.
I’m regularly visit the long dog for food and on this occasion was on the table by the kitchen. This was quite frustrating as could hear all the conversations between kitchen and waiting staff which at times was awkward along with the heat light being constantly switched on and off which as I’m sure you can imagine was really annoying and off putting. Me and my friends felt sorry for the girl serving our table as she was clearly new as we were told by “Robert” and had not had much if any training. She was pleasant but clearly nervous and needed some help. I think the prawn linguine could have more prawns / chorizo in it. Even so it still tasted great. And the burgers looked delicious also. I will return but will bare in mind he music night on a Tuesday and not sit anywhere near the kitchen.
It was a shame there was only 3 tables occupied during lunch as you deserve to be fuller. We loved our lunch, beautifully presented. My only observation was that my sea bass piece could have been a little bigger but I know it was the last portion. We were presented with a dessert to try and comment on. OH MY WORD it was delicious. I hope it goes onto your menu. We will be back.
