About The London Carriage Works
The London Carriage Works is a multi award winning restaurant serving modern British dishes complemented by the use of local, fresh and seasonal produce.
The London Carriage Works acquired its name when during external renovation works the original company name became apparent in the stonework. The company was a coach and carriage builders and built around 1866 in a pervading fashion of the day, the Venetian palazzo.
The restaurant is sister to hope street hotel and is open to the public seven days a week, from breakfast to nightcaps, with lunch, afternoon tea, supper, dinner and cocktails in-between. In house we also cater for many varied events from wedding suppers to meetings and corporate dining.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 3-5pm
Food perfect staff so professional could not fault it toilets spotless
Excellent staff....my Seabass starter and steak main dish were absolutely perfect. Very enjoyable evening. Well done.
Always a lovely experience visiting London Carriage Works. Lovely to be bak at such a beautiful restaurant
Really enjoyable pity we had to rush of would have enjoyed a little longer for coffee...
food was just fabulous! I really enjoyed it. I did not expect to have such nice food. Seabass was cooked just perfect and rib eye and pork dish were both wonderful. I would definitely like to come back when visiting Liverpool.
The food is always absolutely delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Great value and the staff are always extremely helpful and pleasant.
Excellent We will return
All worked out nicely. I think the food has improved since our last visit. Excellent.
Bloody Mary's were good. We had the Sunday menu and both my partner and I left rather hungry. We are not big people nor big eaters. I ordered the roast beef and my partner the roast pork. Unfortunately, an error on the menu resulted in her getting something else. This was partly made up for by an offer of free deserts and the 10% service being waived. Ok, mistakes happen. The problem was the absence of any carbs with her dish, meaning we had to share the few potatoes that came with my dish. The beef itself was very good but the portion felt very mean, even by "London" standards. No complaints about the deserts, we just didn't really have an appetite for them To summarise, I would try to do either a heartier roast or more of an elaborate tasting menu - the current experience is a bit discordant.
I was there for afternoon tea. The restaurant was quite quiet but everything was set up to social distancing guidelines and I felt very safe. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Would definitely visit again
The drinks and food were ok albeit the food could of been warmer and some of the staff were not up to the standard the restaurant needs. Whilst eating the staff seemed to be very unaware of the clientele you had dining. One of the waitresses was putting away cups and saucers and wasn’t taking into consideration the diners as the noise she was making was very rude. Another female was being very jovial dancing around which was a little off putting. Clearly the staff are massively inexperienced for the type of place the restaurant advertises itself as. I don’t mind paying a little extra for dining out if the service and food are of the standard expected for the restaurant that has been advertised, this was not.
Fabulous hotel , staff are very accommodating & go that extra mile
Amazing service, brilliant food any a really nice atmosphere!
Outstanding dinner - really well handled in the light of C19 safe guarding too. So lovely to eat out again!
Very attentive service, delicious food.
Rooms are excellent. Good nights sleep. Great view from room
I took my sister for afternoon tea. The food was delicious and the customer service was excellent. We really enjoyed our afternoon.
Your food seems to have gone up several notches. Now worthy of a Michelin recommendation. Great food & great service!
Excellent service, afternoon tea was lovely
Beautiful looking and tasting food. The goats curd, fig and beetroot starter was a stunner! Great choice even on the set menu which is great value. Excellent service as always.
We loved our meal, especially the chocolate orange. We will definitely visit again.
Lovely afternoon tea, very enjoyable. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Cannot give five stars for atmosphere as it was very quiet but the restaurant was lovely and bright and relaxed. Will definitely recommend and return! Thank you.
Truly excellent. And I trusted how the staff behaved and how the tables were separated in this COVID19 time. As I don't live in Liverpool not many will follow my recommendation! Server excellent, catering for me, a person with celiac disease, was outstanding. I have been before Nant tines and wil keep going back!
Great meal, tip top
Will definately return building is beautiful ull. Atmosphere perfect for afternoon tea and will return for evening meal as will be just as lovely in the evening. Also thinking of booking the hotel as it was so lovely. Staff were friendly and happy to take time to talk and discuss menus etc. Would have been nice in such a classy restaurant for the staff to replace / check cutlery / drinks etc a little more but that’s only if I’m being really picky. Also the place was spotless from the tables to the glasses and the staff. It is expensive but very nice for a great and worth every penny
