About The London Carriage Works
The London Carriage Works is a multi award winning restaurant serving modern British dishes complemented by the use of local, fresh and seasonal produce.
The London Carriage Works acquired its name when during external renovation works the original company name became apparent in the stonework. The company was a coach and carriage builders and built around 1866 in a pervading fashion of the day, the Venetian palazzo.
The restaurant is sister to hope street hotel and is open to the public seven days a week, from breakfast to nightcaps, with lunch, afternoon tea, supper, dinner and cocktails in-between. In house we also cater for many varied events from wedding suppers to meetings and corporate dining.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 3-5pm
Hi, The beef was excellent, but one of my party found a small slug in his salad!! (The Maitre D dealt with it very well by the way). It wasn't for that it would have been 5 stars! The only other thing was the overall service was a bit slow
Fabulous food and great service! Will highly recommend this place. Stunning!
Our party of 15 were unanimous in their praise of the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. It was a perfect choice for an evening meal for our reunion celebration.
have visited a few times and have never been disappointed. always exceeds my expectations. Delicious food.
Fantastic Meal, good service, slightly expensive but thats the price you pay for excellence and quality.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and the food and service was excellent. Well done to you all.
Fabulous meal, lovely service. We have to sit in bar area as we had our dog but the food and service was still amazing
We really had a wonderful meal on saturday evening Food was exceptionsl and service was very good However as we selected the Prix menu the total price of the meal came to nearly £100 for 2 people who only had 2 drinks. This seems to me to be a bit excessive and although I questioned this with the waiter , he suggested this was due to choosing 2 items with excess payments This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and would discourage me from returning to this restaurant
Fabulous evening, staff very attentive, pace of meal excellent and the food itself was beautifully presented and tasted great. At the end, a lovely treat for both birthday boys. The only thing that stopped me giving all 5 stars was the lack of other diners which made everything a bit quiet and soulless but that is something not in control of the restaurant. All in all a very enjoyable evening, thankyou.
Super restaurant, food and service. My wife and I were going to the Philharmonic afterwards, so it was a great choice of restaurant - a nice buzz about the place, to which it was our first visit, and certainly not the last. The service was exemplary.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful restaurant, what more could you want.
I've given the atmosphere as a 3 because we were the only people in the dining room! The food and service was fantastic. With the wine deal on a Monday the value was fantastic.
Lovely Afternoon Tea in a nice setting. The fingersandwiches could do with some more flavour, but the scones were smahing!
We had a lovely dinner, the food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and efficient
Good food. Very friendly and courteous staff. For any wheelchair users please note that the tables are a good height!
Really great food and excellent service.
Excellent food presented beautifully. Pleasant, helpful service. Original, creative dishes with focus on taste. The combination of the two kinds of lamb was delicious. Portion sizes just right to be satisfying without leaving you feeling over full. Top marks to the chef and all the staff.
We went on a Wednesday night so it was quiet for a mid week evening meal
We would like to personally thank Shannon who handled our initial reservation and personalused our menu on the day as we were celebrating our wedding! It was a wonderful personal touch and it made everything more special! We would also like to thank our waiter James and the other waiting on staff they were all excellent! And last but not least we would like to thank the chef for the amazing food! Each mouthful was absolutely deiscious Kind Regards An-Marie & Marie Hardiskey
Another excellent meal. Always lovely food and the guy with red hair (front of house?) is a credit to the restaurant. He’s fabulous!
We had a nice meal although could be a little more substantial Our service from the waitress was excellent she was very attentive , friendly and helpful with good knowledge of the menu Thanks
fantastic evening. food was amazing. Could not fault anything.
Afternoon tea was fabulous. We really enjoyed it for our first experience at the London Carriage Works. Also a mention to the manager who was on that day. Short ginger hair. Suited and booted. Very professional
Excellent service. Food was very good, but portion size was too small
Great night made special by your staff
