We normally have Sunday roast at home, but this week time was pressing so we decided to eat out. This turned out to be a great idea. The three of us had a different meat and all declared them delicious, and much better value than a pub meal elsewhere earlier in the weekend. We would certainly recommend this to our friends and family.
The staff were very attentive and prepared to swap things on set menus around to accommodate the choices of the children in the party. Very impressed overall have visited several times and will definitely visit again.
Excellent choice of drinks, and the food was very good, only let down by a disappointing selection of desserts. Very good service from friendly helpful staff.
We wasn’t told it was a set meal and wasn’t given any alternatives especially for kids like the waitress did on another table . It took 20mins for the waitress to come to our table to take our order and wasn’t even ask for a drink first. The waitress was abit abrupt and rude like we shouldn’t be there she was rude to our child didn’t give much time or any alternatives to our child like she did on another table which she bent over backwards for. We wasn’t even ask or given the free drinks for mums which we didn’t know till we left. Some of the food was undercooked steak, and tuff in the middle pork and the Doph potatoes was like eating a cake . And at one point the waitress taking my order disappeared before I was finished. The waitress was more concerned about the table by us she was all over them and being nice but when it came to us not so . Overall we spent £300 on the day and we are not impressed what’s so ever which spoilt Mother’s Day
Came last year and had a spot on experience hence the return this year for mother’s day. Sadly disappointed this year, my beef was incredibly hard to cut and fatty , with all the gravy on the plate too it was one messy and unsatisfying roast dinner. Custard on jam roly poly was like water too! Such a shame as was looking forward to it so much, and as a mum it was supposed to be special.
Had a lunch time family 40th birthday party and we were dealt with wonderfully well. Everybody enjoyed the food and the good service in a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Really appreciated the good service and having a member of the party with multiple food allergies I always know I can trust the kitchen.
Great food, excellent drinks choice, nice atmosphere, service pretty decent, no issues.
Regular visitor Excellent service and the Sunday Lunches are without a doubt the best in the area. The staff are super friendly - Tony has an excellet team who he should be super proud of Highly recommend
1st class meal!
Lovely lunch, great service.
Great new menu and usual good service and atmosphere.
A party of 6 of us visited last week for lunch. On arrival we had to wait a couple of minutes for someone to come to greet us and seat us at our table. Once we were seated we all noted how cold it was in the restaurant, other customers had their coats still on so we knew it wasn’t just because we had come in from the cold. Although the radiators were warm to touch they didn’t do much to heat the room. This had an effect on our dining experience as we all kept our jackets on and didn’t feel too relaxed. When the food came it was delicious. We only opted for light bites and had sandwiches. We did have an upgrade to sweet potato fries on one order but they didn’t originally come. After a few minutes they were delivered to the table with an apology. We ordered some halloumi fries and for £4.00 for about 6 fries I thought this was abit of a rip off! All in all the food was lovely. We were asked if we wanted a desert menu which we said yes. We waited for about 15 mins before one of us decided to hunt down a member of staff to get one. A couple of minutes later, what looked like the manager came over and just shoved them on the table. She returned a couple Of minutes later to take our order. She was not friendly in the slightest and didn’t even attempt to smile or make eye contact with any of our party. Which working in hospitality myself I know isn’t hard to do and you should always be polite to customers. This However would change my mind on returning as it didn’t make us feel welcomed at all.
Great Sunday lunch
The room was cold which was uncomfortable. There was limited gluten free choice & the allergy menu wasn't very helpful, as it showed items with just one removable gluten containing item as not suitable for a gf diet.
Fabulous every time...and even more so with a large party....well done guys
Excellent service as always but especially at Christmas. Great food again very high standards for thus time of year. Thank you for a lovely meal.
Excellent food and service
The oil and balsamic was cheap and unpleasant, however, the rest of the meal was great.
Lovely food, friendly and helpful staff, good beer - what else could one ask for ?
Yet another excellent meal
From booking to paying the service was excellent, the food was amazing and the staff very accommodating. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to others - Thank you
The food and service was excellent on Friday evening thank you. It is fast becoming our favourite place for us to enjoy a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings
Waiter service good. Service at the bar terrible.
