About The Life Goddess, experimental greek devine
In Greek tradition and culture cultivating, preparing and sharing food is a ritual. The journey of the senses starts from mother-earth and finishes at a feast on a table where all the family, friends and companions share the same nourishment and enjoy the sublime result of their efforts. For Greeks preparing a meal for someone is the ultimate token of respect, gratitude, friendship and love. Our philosophy is that good quality sustenance is the epitome of a healthy and happy life! At The Life Goddess we offer food that is grown in the ideal Greek climatic conditions: fruit and vegetables ripened under the abundant Greek sunlight, meat, fish and poultry grown by local cattle farmers and fishermen using traditional environment-friendly methods, superbly balanced, mouth-watering appetizers, salads, main courses and preserves in recipes that will simply blow your mind and arguably the best wines you ever tasted! The Life Goddess, greek experimental divine, our second project that opened in Kingly Court mid of September, encaptures a great effort to serve not only proper greek food but unique greek wines. The One Barrel project is a well executed idea that will offer 15 experimental wines in a total quantity of 300 bottles only, each time. Signature cocktails will be made and served exclusively for The Life Goddess, experimental.
The food was not consistently good. Multiple visits, some of them food exceptional some of them food seemed old and not tasty. A bit pricy.
Love the food and atmosphere, however, the prices are way too high for what you get. Definitely not value for money. Also, they overfilled a couple of the 2 seater tables meaning our pre-booked big table was very squashed and resulted in our guests having to climb over and under tables to get in and out.
Very nice food and wine, we enjoyed the evening and will come back. For some reason our booking for a table hadn’t come through to the restaurant despite me having an email reservation but we were still given a table.
Food great and good value.
The staff were very slow at taking our order and bringing our drinks. Also when asked for a sample of the cheese from the cheese board, having been told that it was very strong, were told this was not possible; along with being told that one bread stick and no biscuits for the cheese was all they could offer. Plus the other desert was very dry & massive and did not come with any 'wet' accompaniment (i.e. ice cream or cream). Not good!
The food was full of flavour and very enjoyable. We also enjoy that the wines were Greek.
Not many vegetarian options on the menu. I went to the branch in Store Street previously for a lunch meal which seemed to have more options. Was a bit disappointed to see only 3 veggie options (with the vegan/veggie burger being almost identical, so really only 2 options).
Food was phenomenal, especially the Giouvetsi which was to DIE FOR.
This place was highly recommended to us but we found the lamb to be a bit tough in the main dishes. The food overall was good but I can't say outstanding. Otherwise very nice atmosphere and the wine was very unexpectedly good, we drank the rosé, which was slightly bubbly and quite pleasing to the mouth.
We booked in advance via the restaurant's booking system for lunch at 12:30 last Friday. When we arrived we were told the restaurant was open but there was no service (!?) We were told if we wanted to eat we would need to wait 30min. When I explained we had booked online for that time, they said that "this is what we sometimes do". The lady was simply rude and had a "not my problem" attitude. It is not normal to book your lunch at a restaurant and be told the restaurant is not serving food when you arrive. With so many options in Kingley Court we were lucky to find a table in the Japanese restaurant just in front. Never going back.
Very disappointing food. Dry and burnt moussaka and very tough lamb souvlaki.
The food was excellent and plentiful. Would recommend.
Hello, I had a reservation for Tuesday 15th of January, I even got a reminder about it, but the restaurant was closed! Totally unacceptable, this could have ruined our night. (Ratings are not representative of the restaurant, I was required to put something for my comment to be submitted, sorry about that).
I arrived for my booked time and it was closed. There was one member of staff who didn’t speak much English and couldn’t help. Why allow me to book if you’re not even open. Very disappointing as it looked so good. On the plus side I then went to the Good Egg next door and it was fantastic.
I would not recommend going here. The food was average and the prices very high. I am a huge fan of their sister restaurant on Store Street, and this is nothing like that place.
The food and service was excellent. The portion sizes were bigger than I expected, making it good value for money. I would definitely recommend the octopus with yellow lentils.
Pre-booked my table and when arrived - a chair was missing. Food was delicious apart from one of the portions contained under cooked potatoe. We were nearly forced to order and leave quickly, even when we asked for the dessert menu we were given the bill ... Generally - disappointed.
The food was overpriced and we felt rushed by the staff to make our order, eat, pay and leave - no time to relax or chat. A thoroughly unenjoyable meal.
The food was great. As was the service - it was friendly and interactive. This place was recommended to me by a friend - I'm glad I went.
It felt a bit too expensive for what it is. That was my only issue with it.
Lovely service, cute place. We had a groupon voucher so obviously we paid less, however I would still expect normal service as then I’d be more likely to come back and recommend. Some dishes described on the menu arrived without a few of the items in the description and we weren’t given any warning. For example instead of pita bread with all the dips, we received very cheap sliced bread(probably left overs from the day) which made us not being able to enjoy the dips and having to leave half of it. I wouldn’t expect to receive bread like that in any restaurant, let alone a greek and think that I wouldn’t cost you much more to supply all your customers with decent bread. For me that’s an important part of the meal. I was happy to pay what I payed but would have been very dissapointed if I’d had paid full price.
Over priced salad and pasta, but everything was so expensive for what it seemed. Service and atmosphere non existent. Won't be returning again. The sister restaurant in Goodge street was my first experience and I expected the same atmosphere, the food, the staff to be the same but very disappointed at this restaurant. Need to learn from that restaurant to make it better. Need massive improvements all around.
A small restaurant with great flavoursome dishes. Very busy between 6-8pm, so book! A couple of dishes were not available anymore, which is a pity. Dishes are colourful, flavoursome and cheese lovers will enjoy it!
I recently had dinner here with my partner again, after having discovered this restaurant a few months ago. The first time round we loved the food, especially the grilled octopus starter, and returned with positive expectations in mind. Unfortunatley, this time round the food was sub-par. The flavours were not as bold and the ingredients not as fresh. We communicated this with our waitress who took our feedback on board. On the point of service, our waitress was attentive and friendly, despite the busy environment. A redeeming feature was the wine selection which both my partner and I enjoyed. On the whole, this visit did not leave us with the same desire and excitement to return as we previously experienced.
