About The Life Goddess, experimental greek devine
In Greek tradition and culture cultivating, preparing and sharing food is a ritual. The journey of the senses starts from mother-earth and finishes at a feast on a table where all the family, friends and companions share the same nourishment and enjoy the sublime result of their efforts. For Greeks preparing a meal for someone is the ultimate token of respect, gratitude, friendship and love. Our philosophy is that good quality sustenance is the epitome of a healthy and happy life! At The Life Goddess we offer food that is grown in the ideal Greek climatic conditions: fruit and vegetables ripened under the abundant Greek sunlight, meat, fish and poultry grown by local cattle farmers and fishermen using traditional environment-friendly methods, superbly balanced, mouth-watering appetizers, salads, main courses and preserves in recipes that will simply blow your mind and arguably the best wines you ever tasted! The Life Goddess, greek experimental divine, our second project that opened in Kingly Court mid of September, encaptures a great effort to serve not only proper greek food but unique greek wines. The One Barrel project is a well executed idea that will offer 15 experimental wines in a total quantity of 300 bottles only, each time. Signature cocktails will be made and served exclusively for The Life Goddess, experimental.
Amazing fresh food, excellent service!
We visited The Life Goddess for the first time with a brunch voucher we were gifted for a birthday. Unfortunately we were treated poorly. We arrived at 12pm to a completely empty restaurant and asked to sit by the window. We were told there were lots of bookings and couldn't sit there (an hour later we left, and still no one had sat by the window.) Service was very slow, and the waitress wasn't very friendly (though we heard her being lovely to the two other tables that eventually arrived.) We decided to not to leave a tip because of the poor service, and were glowered out of the restaurant. Such a shame when someone chose this experience for us.
Absolutely delicious food and wine! Would definitely recommend and visit again!
This is the second thing me in the last four weeks I have eaten here. A hidden gem but very popular and reasonable prices.
Everything was great
Atmosphere and good vibes get a 10/10 in this marvellous little corner of Kingly Court - however we were a bit let down by the limited drinks menu and although we were promised nibbles with our bottles of wine for my friend's birthday when we arrived, we didn't get any in the end. Loved the crowd and the DJ absolutely smashed it, we did appreciate there was oenomelo as well on offer but maybe reintroduce some of your delicious cocktails as well on your Sunday menu!!
IT was a great experience though I wouldn't say that it was fully authentic. I would've expected some more of an authentic Greek atmosphere. It was very much 'londonerised'. Overall I would recommend the restaurant as it wasn't overly big and I presume that the prices where acceptable for London. Very nice food though.
Go for the octopus!
Really great meal at the life goddess. Authentic Greek feel and fantastic food and service.
Great Atmosphere Cocktails Delicous Moussaka and Seabass
The Summer Octopus was excellent and I would recommend it. The meze starter on the other hand was very tired and well below the standard of the average Greek taverna. The service was indifferent but the atmosphere was completely undermined by a series of deliveries and the staff deciding to put out the rubbish halfway through lunch. The location is excellent but this is not somewhere I could recommend - even to tourists.
Came with a Groupon voucher but I'm sure I'll be back as the staff were lovely, food was lovely and the full menu looks delicious!
Main menu was not available. Special Easter menu was available, only written in Greek and the waitor was unable to translate clearly into English. No vegitarian main courses available. We left and went elsewhere.
For a small menu like this,i would except to have all the options and not to decline most of our choices on a Friday night. Also, only 3 wine options! from a catalogue with at least 20.
Had a great experience and food drink and staff was great really enjoyed it
Over priced and small portions - 4 x 2inch triangle pieces of pitta with the humous - ridiculous!
Great atmosphere and food from my lovely home Greece
We ordered two starters and wine. The first starter arrived after around 15 mins. The wine arrived around 30 mins later. The second starter arrived around 45 mins later. This was despite repeatedly asking. The waiter said that he had asked the kitchen and there was nothing he could do. However our mains arrived promptly and the waiter apologised and was very friendly.
It wasn't full but the service was quite ropey!
We actually didn't have any dinner there. Our reservation wasn't registered. The staff was not helpful at all. We had to wait outside for 15 min with no one coming to let us know what was going on therefore left to find another place.
The meze starter to share was a meal in itself !!! All food very good and the premises are in a truly delightful and decorative courtyard. The groupon deal was very good indeed, you must give it a go!!
Certain aspects of the meal I felt were really authentic. The best of all was the service. Staff were very friendly and professional. I had a serious problem prior to come for the meal therefore I was late. Your staff were very sympathetic and helpful. Well done!!!
Our expeience in The Life Goddess was a complete disaster. We waited for the food 45minutes (only ordered one main) and when it arrived all of the plates were cold. We kindly asked them to heat up two of them and they took 10minutes to do so. Clearly the restaurant in Kingly Court is not as good as the other one as I never had any problems in the main one. Staff was rude and the place was 75% empty. Hence why we did not know why they took so long. Value for money is very poor as you expect plates to be quite big (£14 for a Moussaka) but it is not even filling. Would not be going there again.
We absolutely loved the Life Goddess - the food was phenomenal and the service was the best I've ever had anywhere (the perfect mix of attentive without overcrowding us). The only tiny slight negative was that the music was really loud for such a small space which made it hard for us to chat properly. We loved it there though and can't wait to be back.
Guys. I love the idea of experimental but to be honest - my opinion - it didn't work. The ribs starter were just fatty, the potatoes were nice, but the service was biased towards some Greek family dining at the time. They seemed to have the red carpet rolled out for them which made us feel unwelcome. Then the price. For what I got, which was very rushed, did not justify the cost of the meal. To top it all, the mandatory service charge was in my opinion not acceptable. It is my choice to pay for a service if provided. I'm. It in any way trying to be nasty, but I have been asked to give be an honest review so that's what I'm doing
