About The Lexden Crown
The Lexden Crown has a long and colourful history having been a beerhouse since 1851 with the original building dating back to the 1600’s. An unexploded artillery shell sat unnoticed in the bar for six years and even that failed to deter the shy but persistent, ghost said to walk the bar on Saturday evenings…
Very good Sunday lunch..
I am a regular , but the meal we recently had in mid November was the best we have experienced ... staff always friendly and attentive ... highly recommend
Many thanks for moving us away from another very noisy table - not what you want when out for a relaxing meal with family so thanks for being so understanding. Great service as always. Will be back very soon!
Lovely place very welcoming and with a nice atmosphere
Had a wonderful evening dining with friends. The service was perfect, food was delicious and we will be back again for more! Thank you everyone x
Food was fantastic and great staff
Good and friendly service
Lovely Sunday lunch.
I have taken members of my Family to The Lessen Crown a fee times now, to eat & drink. We have found the food very good, the service very good & staff very pleasant. I recommend this pub & guarantee you won't be disappointed
Excellent service (by girl who lives on a boat!) and first rate cooking by Patrick!
A pleasant evening as usual
Very good food. Friendly and efficient service.
Food & Service very good. My partner really enjoyed the Fishpie and I enjoyed the lamb kebab but felt it was more of a starter portion then a main meal portion.
Wonderful, friendly service and a lovely Sunday lunch!
Booked a table for four of us at 2pm...arrived bang on time to be told that our table had been given to someone else. We were seated at 2:10 which was fine, I wasn’t bothered at all by that, everyone makes mistakes. But we ordered three trio meat roasts and one chicken roast at about quarter past. They didn’t arrive until 3:10. That’s ridiculous, would not recommend, and won’t be returning. We would’ve stayed for dessert but our waiter seemed to have forgotten about us, and so didn’t clear the table for another 20 minuets after we finished. Paid at the bar and left
The food is good quality. Staff are polite and very efficient. The garden is beautiful.
Service definitely improved since the new duty manager started and the food was as delicious as always.
We enjoyed the Sunday roast lamb and the desserts were very good. Only one small complaint - the waiter forgot to come back for our dessert order and we had to grab someone passing, but overall a good experience. I would go there for Sunday lunch again.
We had lovely food & attentive service on a busy Sunday lunchtime- our second visit we’d go again.
Very nice meal as always. The VIP card is a réal motivation to return.
Lasagne looked and tasted as if reheated several times. Sausage and mash was the worst I have ever eaten, literally ever. Onion gravy had never seen an onion, two pathetic excuses for a sausages were over-cooked, minuscule and tasteless (unless you like the burnt taste). Mash potato tasted as if from a packet - gruesome Fish and chips was ok apparently.
Welcoming, cheerful and friendly staff
Amazing food and service
Most successful evening . Our waitress worked like a hero.
