A contemporary yet traditional restaurant, The Larder Restaurant brings hearty British cuisine to the Hilton Coventry hotel.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 12.00 - 16.00
Great day had, afternoon tea was lovely will definitely recommend
Afternoon tea was lovely, service was quick staff were very friendly and helpful
The pre- order wasn't given to the Kitchen so they couldn't cater fully for as we had a vegan and free from guest with us.
Service excellent on arrival but disappeared. Food good but not much of it. On a Saturday afternoon atmosphere was certainly lacking.
The reception staff was not as helpful as expected. I was signposted on where to go for assistance but not offered the help. Saying that, the restaurant/ bar and leisure staff were great. Thank you
Nice food, friendly staff, lovely afternoon tea.
Asked on arrival about dietary requirements by manager and confirmed do not eat meat but will eat fish I.e tuna salmon etc . Asked again by waiter / serving staff and confirmed again no meat . vegetarian and fish acceptable . Bought out ham and chicken meat sandwiches. Had to call waiter over again who apologised and corrected the error . But there was a poor selection of sandwiches when corrected . 2 x cheese and pickle finger sandwiches 6x red pepper and onion sandwiches Disappointed by what is offered if you are a vegetarian.
A day out using the spa facilities and an afternoon tea. A lovely day with delicious food and helpful friendly staff. Dietary requirements were taken on board and daughters proof of age correctly asked for.
More vegetarian options would be good.
Good value for money but very quiet
The waitress was fantastic but the bar staff were rude and ignorant so would not use the bar again but would visit the restaurant again
Service was poor, had to wait a long time for food as one member of staff went on lunch
The hotel is very clean the staff friendly. The afternoon tea is very basic everything is very small the sandwiches the cakes the scones are very very hard. It's not worth the money and I wouldnr of paid it if we didn't use sauna steam and swimming pool. Maybe rethinking the size of the afternoon tea is in order
Warm proseeco and one small tub of clotted cream between two people. ?
When we arrived they couldn’t find my booking it was a computer error I believe but the staff were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome the food was beautiful and the service exemplary
Lovely time , food was nice and well presented
Very good value for money . Took my mum for her birthday and she really enjoyed it - not impressed with the huge Starbucks mugs though , my mum is 82 and struggled to hold her mug . Would certainly come again despite the mugs . Thank you
Our experience started off not very good as we made a booking through groupon, drove all the way to Coventry and when we got there they told us the hotel was closed to the public. Obviously we were not very pleased and nothing was offered in return for our inconvenience. Despite this, we were able to rebook. The food was very nice and the atmosphere was very relaxing and calming in the lobby. The spa facilities were standard, nothing special which was surprising for a Hilton hotel however it is what it is. The pool was clean as well as the sauna and steam room, however the changing rooms were dirty and smelly, i think this may be due to the toilets, shower and changing area being all open plan. If i could recommend doing the swimming classes somewhere else as this reduced the usage of the pool and created a lot of noise. I am averagely pleased with the experience, however we will not be returning.
Sandwiches dry and boring filling. Cakes a bit boring. Scones nice. No one checked if we were okay. No offer of further drinks.
Service was very poor , no options for afternoon tea menu were given or allergies or dietary needs asked about. Service was extremely slow and only basic communication was provided. Seating area for afternoon tea was more of a lounge area and not suitable for dining. Portion sizes were also very small. Our package included a spa access but this was never mentioned or offered by staff
Twice I requested no fish, once on the booking and once when we arrived. Despite this fish was put on my sandwich. Felt like the quantity of sandwiches and cake was very poor. The “cake stand” was not that but some wooden contraption thing that was dirty, old and not pleasant at all. Not quite the afternoon tea experience I was expecting. I’ve had much much better elsewhere for the same price. Really dissatisfied and won’t come again or recommend to anyone.
Good food in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Service is excellent without being overpowering.
had afternoon tea. nice but cakes were very sweet
Booking wasn't received by staff, had to wait nearly an hour for afternoon tea. No apology, made to feel like an inconvenience and told they were busy and this was from the supervisor! Food was lovely as always but only one tea bag in a pot of tea... not great. Over all service was terrible once again!
Our group of ladies were made to feel very special and we would all certainly return. A very friendly atmosphere and offers of extra food and drinks was much appreciated
