About The Lamb Inn Crawley
Having sold there eponymous London restaurant ‘Snows on the Green’ in 2008, Sebastian and Lana took over the Swan at Southrop in the same year where they were awarded The Good Food Guide UK restaurant of the year award in 2010.
After 4 successful years they opened the first Pub called The Five Alls in Filkins in 2012, a 9 bedroom Inn with a large restaurant. The Pub proved to be a big hit with excellent critique acclaim and press awards catering for a wide geographical base, celebrities and politicians alike.
In 2015 a second pub was added called the Plough In Kelmscott, a beautiful period building. Very much a classic British pub and eaterie this also proved a very popular river destination.
In 2017/18 we took on The Bull Hotel in Fairford, a beautiful old listed coaching Inn which we completely gutted and created a 21 bedroom market town hotel.
After 10 years in The Cotswolds with 3 pubs, 38 bedrooms we decided to sell to a small PLC and have a short rest.
The story continues...
Personally I dislike music in restaurants and this had slightly too loud rock. This slightly detracted from an otherwise nice experience. Comfortable seating, good service and tasty food. The breakdown of the link to the credit card system meant paying by cash, luckily I had enough on me, but this wasnt entirely their fault.
We booked a table for 6 adults prior to the seafood evening being announced, that made us look forward to the meal even more. We arrived early to enjoy the hospitality the staff provide. The fire was roaring away and we managed to get a table in the bar area which is where we spent the whole evening. The only issue some of us had was deciding on what to eat, we wanted to sample all of the seafood options. The only way to solve the " problem " was to share choices. Five of the six chose from the seafood menu, scallops to start were amazing, the Thai style mussels were delicious and the squid was divine. The meal became a pass across the table as we all had to taste everything. Thank you to all the staff for a friendly , welcoming evening Ray & Mia Latham
Cosy, atmospheric and great food. Please don't change it.
Great to see The Lamb thriving again! Roast beef was very good but starters not so good. No curry at all in the curried prawns and no bread so not value for money. Curried parsnip soup also lacking in curry flavouring. Service was intermittent to slow but it was peak time. Sunday lunch more expensive than similar local restaurants. We will come again but improvements needed. Pam
Great Sunday lunch! Lovely food, great value and friendly staff in a very nice setting.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Had a delicious Sunday lunch and hope to return soon.
Excellent food and service.
Lovely meal and ambiance
Fantastic pub, food, atmosphere and staff, the best pub in the Cotswolds!
Would have been 5 stars for food but let yourselves down with cremated treacle tart. Was refunded but such a shame when everything else had been so good. What were you thinking? Burnt is burnt. Otherwise superb.
Good food. Lovely atmosphere and great service.
Second visit and once again an occasion on which everything fell into place perfectly. Plenty of charm during the booking process and on arrival. Great and attentive staff. Very knowledgable too about the menu and wines. The menu itself is very appetising, varied and appealing. The food cross section of food we ordered is fabulously flavoursome and well balanced. Totally enjoyable.
