The Kitchen - Relaxed Dining
The Kitchen provides an informal dining experience with an open plan layout offering you the chance to watch the Chefs at work. The à la carte menu features wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, superfood salads and much more.
Booked for a birthday dinner after a wonderful day in the CG spa. The Kitchen delivered on all levels, the tomahawk pork was especially good.... we will be back.
We had a really charming waitress called Alice ? ( blond lady with glasses) who made us feel very welcome The food was really nice however a bit pricey for what it was. However rest of my party enjoyed it.
Always look forward to visiting the Kitchen and was not disappointed, enjoyed another lovely evening with beautiful food and great service , the young man from Australia was a real bonus and contributed to the Kitchen, he was a delightful personally and will be missed when he leaves to go to London , maybe he will return at a later date .
Whole family loved it.
Service a bit slow and menu all very calorific. Would like to see some lighter options. But lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Wine list not varied enough......most whites were chardonnay.
Disappointing. Greeted on arrival with drinks menu and told would see if table was ready, we were early so that was fine. However they didn’t return. After 15mins waiting I went to find someone to ask for a drink then after a further 10mins we were collected for table no apologies for being late and just given menus and left. Order taken, again had to ask for drinks first. Husband’s pork wasnt cooked, sent back and still not cooked through. My food was fine, but not amazing as was expected with the name of James Martin representing it. Bugged by flies throughout our meal.
Great addition to a great hotel
Lets start with the prices are high, so expectations are reasonable. The food was seriously disappointing, on two occasions. First visit my very un-fussy children didn't like the pizza - it looked like flat bread with oily grilled cheese. We did see normal looking pizza at an adjacent table, with risen crust etc on our second visit. Hair in pizza on first visit, was told it would be taken from bill but it wasn't. The really tiny bit of 'salad', romanescu? with meals is not nice. We were left desperate for some healthy green food. Kids pasta, mushy and not nice - its great in the Dining Room. Fresh Conchiglioni, mushy and bland. Etc. Its got to get better! On a separate note, Steve and the cookery school was a great experience for my children.
Food was good, service was great. There always a small issue whilst we were there and the staff did everything to make it right. Not at all pretentious as you may expect at CG. A welcome, relaxed addition when staying at the hotel.
A perfect evening as usual
We had a very enjoyable lunch time celebrating our daughter’s 21st birthday. The service and staff was excellent especially the Australian barman. The g&t scampi and pork scratchings were amazing and a definate recommendation from all of us. Thank you for making it a memorable birthday.
Really nice experience. Great menu. Charming staff
We had a wonderful lunch celebrating my husbands 30th birthday! The service and food was incredible and location is breathtaking. We will definitely be going back very soon!
A fab time had by all - thank you
Service was good - however wasn’t hugely impressed to be asked whether my red headed children had a temper to match. My only other gripe was that the dishes from the starters remained on the table with the main courses. Not too much room on the table and had to stack them up in the middle of the table. Just felt they could’ve been taken back to the kitchen when the main courses were delivered given they were all empty. Food was super - we all loved it the burgers. Would def be back
Enjoyed the meal very much. Shame the table nr us did not keep their children better under control, your staff are first class, we will come back, but book once the summer holidays are over
Great meal again and great service.
Our new favourite place to eat!
My family and I had a lovely evening at The Kitchen. The staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed our meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Will definitely be back
The food was extremely good . Howeve the front of house service was disappointing . Firstly all the outside tables were full of dirty crockery and glasses . We were asked to sit at one of these until our table was ready . The waitress took our drink order and menus were given . When another waitress delivered our drinks I asked her whether there were any specials that evening . She didn’t know so went to check what they were . Surely by 20:45 she should have familiarised herself with the specials . She then proceeded to tell us trout was one of the specials but wasn’t sure what it came with . One of the party did order the trout only for the waitress to come back to us 5 minutes later to say she had read the board wrong blaming her eyesight and the special was actually turbot . We then received our startes at the outside table until I reminded waitress we had booked a table inside. Not particularly professional and what you would expect from a 5 star hotel restaurant. Think front of house staff may need further training . Regards Lindsay Butler
Great place. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We had a great time celebrating with fab food and attentive service , thank you.
Although not cheap, my friends and I had a great time at The Kitchen, we always receive great service, the food is good and the atmosphere really relaxed. I always recommend this place to friends.
Beautiful meal, excellent service and tasty food, great way to spend my friends birthday
