About The Kitchen at Chewton Glen
The Kitchen - Relaxed Dining
The Kitchen provides an informal dining experience with an open plan layout offering you the chance to watch the Chefs at work. The à la carte menu features wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, superfood salads and much more.
We live locally so frequent The Kitchen quite regularly, have to say service on this occasion was lacking. On both our table and an adjacent one ordered drinks didn't arrive and seemed short staffed. Adjacent table gave up on desserts and left. I was a little disappointed to be honest.
I have recently discovered The Kitchen and have only been twice so far. The menu is not too busy and there is plenty of choice. The prices are extremely good and value for money. The food itself is really nasty especially the pizzas and you must try the doughnuts if they're still on the menu! I highly recommend a visit to The Kitchen.
A perfect afternoon, the food was beautifuly presented and tasted amazing with many complimentary flavours. Service is A1. We are very lucky to live so close to this lovely restaurant
We had a great lunch on Saturday. Lovely food and really helpful staff
Excellent food , service and atmosphere
Excellent service and lovely food, highly recommend
Chose festive set menu, tapas starters were excellent, tasty fresh and larger than anticipated. Whilst I had beautifully cooked sea bream my wife went for turkey burger. Must admit I did have several of her chips, possibly the fluffiest and crispiest chips I’ve tasted. Deserts were thankfully light and delicate, my panettone bread and butter pudding was super. But my wife favorite of the night was hot chocolate mousse. You are close to the food being prepared in a very convivial atmosphere. Very obliging gent ferried us to and from the main hotel as it’s quite a step to the Kitchen. Only gripe was very expensive bottle of water will go for tap water next time.
Excellent dining experience, friendly helpful staff. Food was perfect.
It would have been nice if someone started by offering to hang up our coats! Just thought everything was average or less than I expected it would be.
Brilliant Sunday lunch
Lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere.
Great food and service thank you my partner had a good birthday meal we will be returning soon 😋
Great meal and good wine. Try the Pizzetta starter!
Excellent experience as you would expect having dined a number of times in the hotel. The brunch menu was excellent however there was some confusion on the website and when calling to check, over its availability on 25th November despite having been booked since August.Looking forward to a return visit in the new year.
I would give this 4 or 5 for unique location, but surprisingly the question wasn’t asked in the survey. Food was fine, although the service was just a little slow. Adding it all up, worth a visit and we shall return next month.
Was a good experience, except we didn't get our menus, I had to ask and I was given the wrong sauce with my steak. The parking was a pain as it was chucking down. Overall, the service was really good, friendly and attentive
We'd booked at table for 8.15pm and were made to wait for over half an hour without any offer of a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. The dessert menu was disappointing - no savoury option (cheese) - not everyone has a sweet tooth
Always a pleasure! Great service! Great food! Warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere! Never disappoints.
Food good, not amazing though. Service quite poor. Had to wait with empty glasses more than once to get the waiters attention to order more drinks. Generally nice atmosphere.
Service and food of high standard, very enjoyable will definitely be visiting again
We loved our visit here! I’m vegetarian and gluten free so I’m not the easiest to cater for but our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable and told me exactly what I could have without having to go and check! I was surprised at the amount of options there were for me. We all enjoyed all 3 courses, didn’t have to wait long for each. Prices were reasonable for locally sourced, very good food. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed but still formal enough for a special meal. It was nice to see the cooking lessons happening at the back of the restaurant too!
We went twice this week-end (Friday and Saturday night) and both times we waited a very long time to be served our main courses. The first time we were 5 including 3 kids and we waited 45 minutes. The second time we were 10 including 6 kids and we waited for nearly an hour to get the kids their meals (pizzas and burgers), this is not acceptable. The servers were nice but useless and were embarrassed not to be able to serve the food. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Absolutely stunning food and our waiter Ricardo was amazing would definitely recommend to anyone
Food was quality, every dish we had was delicious. Service very good, friendly and informal. Informal setting great and nicely decorated. Some small touches could make it slightly more cosy and confortable especially in winter months.
