The Kitchen - Relaxed Dining
The Kitchen provides an informal dining experience with an open plan layout offering you the chance to watch the Chefs at work. The à la carte menu features wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, superfood salads and much more.
We had another great lunch thank you. Served by the fabulous Cheryle, who was fun and attentive without being OTT. Our only comments on the food are that we were disappointed there was no lobster but totally understand that it is weather dependant and we would much rather go without than have something sub standard. But your chips are so disappointing!!!
The service was absolutely lovely but the food was a little disappointing.
We go regularly, but are going to miss for a while as feel we have eaten everything on the menu that we like. We keep a look out for a new menu.
Delicious food. Very enjoyable meal with a friendly attentive service. Were very helpful in accommodating food intolerances. Great gluten and dairy free options.
We had some of the most cheerful and friendly service! The food is wonderful and there is a great selection. The atmosphere is very relaxed and family friendly so the perfect way to end a long day of outside activities.
Lovely setting at The Kitchen, food excellent, Cheryl was lovely, I asked if James Martin would be in later, she said unfortunately not, she asked if I was a fan I said yes, so she got me a signed card, made my day, thank you Cheryl 😊
Lovely lunch! Friendly service! Great gin (James Martin gin), good wine list, fabulous food.
We had a wonderful time, our waitress was utterly perfect & the food was delicious. We were slightly surprised we didn’t have a temperature check on arrival & didn’t notice a track and trace poster. Neither issues for us but just surprised. We felt very safe & happy eating during Covid times & very pleased to see all the chefs were wearing their masking properly. Can’t wait to return.
A wonderful atmosphere and experience today at The Kitchen. The food and service was amazing. Thank you.
Had an amazing meal, service was fantastic and made really special as it was my husbands 50th birthday.
It was amazing ! We came for my partners birthday and everyone was so kind and thoughtful he was truly overwhelmed!! The food was beautiful and looked incredible, Cheryl who looked after us couldn’t have done anymore!! We will return... thank you 🙏🏼
Loved the whole experience. Felt very welcome, service friendly and professional. Well done.
It was as good, clean and friendly as the day it opened, or maybe it was even better. I love restaurants where it’s hard to chose from the best of the menu. That’s why people go back, and it’s why The Kitchen is so popular. Tranquil setting and wonderful staff. Hard to top for a high quality relaxed dining experience.
Lovely place. Excellent service. Will be back!
Excellent lunch would definitely recommend!
Super experience, relaxing, welcoming, friendly staff, great food! Thoroughly enjoyable lunch!
Cheryl served us and was very efficient, helpful and friendly. Our questions were answered in detail regarding the menu options, the food was delicious, particularly the freshly caught fish. The service delivered was excellent.
Food was excellent, service 1st class will definitely do it again
Second visit to The Kitchen- I absolutely love the beautiful setting and the atmosphere inside. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful and I felt very safe dining here in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Food was delicious and portion sizes quite generous. I saved myself for the Knickerbocker Glory: other reviewers have said how good it is and it more than lived up to the hype. Looked and tasted amazing and just instantly put a smile on my face. The basil syrup is magic. Please don't ever take this off the menu! (The only way my visit could have been any better would be if I'd been lucky enough to see James Martin himself behind the hobs.)
We had a superb lunch today at The Kitchen, service and food 5* ... thank you for helping us celebrate our silver wedding anniversary in style. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Lovely relaxed dining, a very special place!
Second time visiting this weekend as we were celebrating my boyfriends birthday. This time it was for lunch and once again the staff were attentive and friendly, the food was absolutely outstanding and the overall experience out of this world.
Terribly disappointed. Spoke to manager who did offer some compensation for the unsatisfactory main course which was appreciated. The attitude of the waitress who served us (dark haired foreign female) was appalling as she seemed unconcerned to our grievances. If we had not insisted that the manager come to speak to us at the table we would have left your restaurant very aggrieved and the feedback would have been even worse than that that which I have given. Unable to give 0 star rating which is deserved. Needless to say will not visit you again
Average food considering the expectations!
This is my second time of visiting the Kitchen, I came for the first time in the summer and all my marks would have been 5 stars, but not this time. Food & Drink Oysters delicious, the portion of mayo with the gougons was tiny and they were nothing special. Plaice was beautiful, thick and tasty, herb crust was slightly overpowering to my taste, lobster was fantastic. The chips were disgusting, obviously frozen, skinny and sad. With all James talks about chips, we expected much better, at least fresh. Apple pudding stunning Service Good, but lacking in attention to detail. Felt unwanted at the point when as we were finish our lunch we were frozen out by the doors being opened wide 'for Covid reasons'. As we had only been in the restaurant for an hour and a half I don't think we had outstayed our welcome for a three course lunch. I have given your restaurant rave reviews whenever the opportunity has arisen since my first visit, please get a grip on the detail. By the way £18 for a glass of champagne is definitely not value for money
