About The Kings Wine and Cocktail Bar
Set in the heart of the Ribble Valley, our 200-year-old building has been transformed into a modern, chic cocktail and wine bar. We want to bring that inner-city vibe with a further touch of class.
The building has undergone huge transformations bringing it back to its original foundations, leaving us the perfect canvas to create our vision. Our art-deco style sets the tone.
We want you to embrace the high life and indulge in our concept cocktails and simple yet delicious Italian inspired cuisine.
We have created space for drinks, dining and dancing, and the perfect outdoor area to spend your evenings.
Whether it be a birthday or a wedding, our stunning venue is the place for you to celebrate special occasions, or just life itself… it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere!
I booked a table through the reservation system but when I arrived they didn’t have the booking in the system showing. I showed the confirmation email I had received as I don’t think she believed me and we eventually got a table under a small brolly but weren’t allowed the free table under the marquee as it was booked but they hadn’t arrived yet. So was not very impressed as we had booked to and arrived first so should of been given the table as it was raining. Apart from the reservation mix up the rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly with quick service. The gin tree was great and fantastic value for money if there are enough of you sharing. The pizzas were really good and tasty to.
Refreshing to how staff on the ball, glasses cleared , always asked if we needed anther round 10/10 on promptness
Lovely food and place. Staff all lovely just very slow - food and drinks took a long time to come to us and a number of things we asked for werr3 forgotten!
This was my second visit. The service was great. Friendly and relaxed. Food was excellent. Definitely will be back again to sample the full menu.
Great service from a welcoming and hardworking team. Thank you for a great evening
Had a small hen party, we were greeted by a lovely young man who showed us to our tables and gave the brides to be a complimentary cocktail. The food looked and tasted delicious. Our service was fabulous and the staff were all very accommodating. Well done, and YES we will be returning x
Food and drinks were good but there seemed to be a lack of training for staff. Service was appalling, drinks didn’t arrive, our food order was lost, glasses piling up on tables around us. Not the best service at all
Had a lovely first lunch out after lockdown. Pizza really tasty, and nice and hot for outdoor dining. My cocktails were perfect, but husbands white Russian....well we'd say switch the whipped cream for pouring cream. Sometimes classic is best. If it ain't broken... Will definitely return and can't wait to see the interior.
We found the service to be very slow, we arrived at 3pm for our booking, wasn't seated till 10past then after asking twice to order we had to wait 35 mins. Very understaffed especially for a bank holiday weekend. The staff just seemed to want to fill the seat up rather than sevre the customer they already had seated.

On this particular day, I arrived and was placed outside of the cosy seating area on a mouldy old picnic bench, well away from the atmosphere, music and warmth and sat beside the passing banging cars. I asked to be placed on a table inside the garden and was refused regardless of several tables being available. I booked this table 1 month ago so why was I given the worst seat surround this building. All of the service was directed to the garden and we were ignored like peasants. We waited 25 minutes before someone took our drinks order (we had to ask for this service). The lady rolled her eyes like we asked her to climb Mount everest for my pornstar martini. We asked for the bill and was met with a floppy hand asking us to speak to another member of staff. I found the service poor. The atmosphere poor (because of where I was seated). However the food and drinks were lovely when we eventually received them.
Absolutely amazing! Amazing service, lovely staff! A really fantastic place!
Excellent service from all staff. Friendly and efficient but not intrusive. Cocktails rather expensive for out of town
Amazing venue, service, food and staff. Will definitely recommend and return
I know it's only been a couple of weeks since reopening and the staff still might be finding their feet but service was poor. We had to ask several times where our food/drinks were. Pizza was undercooked and took 50 mins to arrive.
First visit...not disappointed. Great pizza 😋
Couldn’t fault anything
Great surroundings. Fab atmosphere. Lovely staff Can’t comment on the food as I haven’t eaten yet . Fab cocktails though
The kings is lovely inside and out however the staff weren’t very attentive, luckily we ordered 10minutes before the kitchen was shutting not that we were aware of this, and not everything on the menu was available. We ordered pizzas but were very dissatisfied with them and for £12 a pizza I feel like it’s very poor value for money. We’ll try again in a few months and let them get back on their feet and used to being open again!
We were so looking fwd to this. We’re regulars at all the other places, mature couple with money to spend. So.......we had a table for 2 hours but like so many others there, stayed for one drink. service was shocking, we were ignored to the point were 3 members of staff came and went until I went inside for service. The porn star tasted cheap but was more expensive than the 3 other best cocktail bars in town. If you want to compete on cocktails and get people to make the trip they’re going to have to be better and competitively priced. The guiness was.....guiness. Inside looked nice but were honestly unsure about a return when there are several other good places to go in clitheroe and Whalley. We were honestly gutted as we’ve watched the transformation and been excited to go. We’re trying tiger lounge this week. Let’s see how they compare
Fab place. Can’t wait to visit again and sample to food.
The service wasn’t great. I seemed to be trying to get a drink almost as long as I had one. Ace place though and can’t wait to go back 👍
Excellent service. Pity the menu is very limited. Nothing to eat if you don't like pizza.
We had a great time sitting in the new outdoor area at The Kings, Clitheroe. Great service and a very relaxed atmosphere helped to make it a day to remember.Ice cold lager and a bottle of excellent chilled wine added to our pleasure. With a 4 minutes walk home, what more could you want ? Highly recommended *****
Nice outside area, great atmosphere, music and fab drinks. Friendly staff. Loved it!
