About The Kings Head Little Marlow
We are a Grade II listed Traditional British Pub located in the quintessential English village of Little Marlow. With its charming period features this is a gem of a country pub.
Our Garden Room is a stylish 50 cover eatery that opens up onto our patio for alfresco dining. With fireplaces for the Winter months this pub is a favourite all year round.
We pride ourselves on the fresh honest food we serve. With a variety of homemade pub favourites served all day.
We went to the Kings Head for a group Christmas lunch. The food was very nice and the service very good. All staff were friendly and attentive. We would recommend the Kings Head and will be returning ourselves!
Having previously eaten at your establishment a couple of times this year, I was happy to suggest it for a lunchtime Venue for a group of ladies to try. I have to say we were disappointed over a number of small details which was such a shame. There needed to be more staff although not busy the service was lacking and the general atmosphere of the restaurant was not cosy on one of the colder days we’ve had . The fire was broken we were told when we mentioned that we were decidedly chilly and not offered an alternative table. We cancelled our pudding order after being informed 10 minutes later that the chef was busy cooking for a party of twelve and there would be a longish wait ,so We sufficed with a just a coffee. All in all a disappointing experience!
excellent food & service with a very helpful on line booking facility
Our waiter on Sunday 2 Dec. In the function room was excellent. Food was lovely although we had a poached pear with no spiced sponge. Our waiter was informed and apologised and returned with a portion if sponge. Generally a good lunch time experience.
Once again, delicious food, but once again, having to spend the choosing time establishing which dishes were and were not available. Too many of them, and it is so disappointing that this has happened each time we’ve come.
For me the haddock was over fried, and I felt the pub was cold. No radiator on where I was sitting. Although fire was on, it smoked us out so had to move tables. Thought there was not much in the menu and quite expensive. Sorry
It started with promise, a nice feel to the pub and friendly service, but, it was very slow and food took over 45mins to arrive, which with two small children made it very difficult to manage their needs and enjoy a meal. The Butternut wellington was very disappointing was bland and pastry was undercooked. The rest of the meal was ok, but felt slightly over priced for what was served.
great staff great food will be back asap
Amazing Sunday lunch. Also there on Saturday night and sat by kitchen door which wasn't quite so nice. Will go again. Jackie
First time there and generally exceeded expectations.
Camembert starter more like a sharer than for one person as very filling. Steak cooked very well.
The food was really good and good value. The wine was very reasonably priced. The service was always very nicely done but took way too long. More than once we had to remind the staff we had ordered something, which we waited over 15 mins for e.g. glass of wine, extra gravy to go with the roast dinners.By the time the gravy arrived, we were almost through our dinners. A round of drinks took around 15 mins too. Surprising as there were staff around most of the time. The extra gravy, between 4 people, was ridiculously small, nowhere near enough for all of us to have some. Also surprised that in the pavilion you have just one ladies loo which the door doesn't lock properly and the seat is loose (you only opened in June, that's not great). Loved the food overall but not the best experience due to the delays in general. Hope this is helpful.
Great evening - food was delicisious and staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Thank you. Would highly recommend
We enjoyed our meal but the service was very slow and would have been annoying if there had been two of us rather than five in our party. We had to keep getting up to shut the door to the garden as there was a very cold draught each time it was left open. The latch was locked so that it could not be closed properly.
Enjoyed a lovely meal sitting by the fire. Service was very good.
A lovely meal with excellent service. I can't understand the negative reviews left previously. I loved it!
Good quality food, cooked well and nicely served
Roast chicken dinner was incredibly salty (possibly the gravy). I didn't complain - but in hindsight wished I had mentioned it and sent it back
Lovely dinning environment, fantastic service, friendly staff, great menu and value for money. Will be returning soon.
Glad to see this pub reopened.
Lovely pub. Fish and chips were excellent. Efficient and polite service
Every thing was to our satisfaction. Great food awesome beverages great staff 5stars
Really enjoyed our meet up with friends at this pub., Friendly service & atmosphere & good food too. Would go again.
The service was diabolical. Slow doesn’t even come close. Every table around us was complaining about the same thing and each time they complained, us included, the food then came straight out. So it must have just been sitting in the kitchen under a hot lamp. The pub is nice and the young staff were friendly but it was totally let down by the painfully slow service.
fish platter starter was delicious but greatly overpriced. prawn and crab linguine was tasteless and full of bits of crabshell, fish cakes and pie of the day were good. sticky toffee pudding was apalling, sent this back. overall not a great evening, so disappointed.
