Love it one of our favourite places but will ring to make booking in future as booking online gave me limited access.
Thank you for making our 70th birthday family celebration so special. The food was delicious and the staff could not have been more accommodating or welcoming from booking through to excellent friendly service. The lunch was top quality, especially loved the tomato, mozzarella and pesto starter and strawberry eton mess but everyone loved their meal including the 2 year old who was kept supplied with cauliflower cheese! Would highly recommend. Thank you all we will be back!
Good food on a lovely summer’s evening. The new owners appear to have stalled in and didn’t disappoint. Service was good. Wine a little pricey.
Fantastic food and service in a lovely setting.
Top quality ingredients, great chef; desserts a little disappointing given the price. Best roast beef I’ve had! We all enjoyed the meal very much.
Amazing atmoshpere and exeptional service. Food was really nice too. Definitely recommend it.
Great atmosphere and food was great quality
Second time we have eaten with you and on both occasions we have been virtually the only ones eating. Resulting atmosphere was very poor.
I'd recommend it but warn them to check that the room has a shower! Overall we enjoyed our stay. The bar and restaurant area was was lovely and although our room was a decent size, with a king size bed, the bathroom didn't have a shower, not even an over bath hand shower and this spoilt our time there. If we'd known, before we arrived, that there was no shower in the bathroom, we wouldn't have stayed.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. The only issue i would comment on was that 2 small loves of bread were put on our table without being requested and we were then charged £14 for them.
A very pleasant evening
Lovely pub/hotel.Stayed 2 nights in room 5 which was really nice. Food very good and staff very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.
We had a fabulous stay. Made to feel so welcome and valued from the moment we walked in until we left. Food and accommodation both excellent.
I visited last year several times and this is the first time since Emily left. The portion of beef in the roast was tiny, as were the pork and chicken. plenty of roast potatoes which were good but not great , cauliflower cheese was delicious - the puddings were underwhelming for the price. When under Emily you got Exceptional food at high prices but excellent value for money - sadly no longer the case - same prices but food is less generous and less tasty.
A lovely pub with great atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, but portions were very small. We opted for main course and dessert and were still hungry enough to need some bread and cheese when we got home. Two in our party opted for the burger, and it was tasty, but fairly lack lustre given the 'high end' look of the other options.
It has been a real nice experience but bread should not be charged ....
Lamb was a touch tough.. needed a sharp knife.. portion could have been abut bigger??!!
£22 for a roast beef lunch seems a bit excessive, however the food abd quality of the food was stunning, absolutely delicious and we said we would go again. Best roast potatoes I have had in a pub. Service was a tad slow to get the order taken but we weren't in a rush. What did disappoint me was our cauli cheese and our Yorkshire pudding were cold. Staff took this away and it was replaced but we had eaten a good chunk of our food bY this.point I would of perhaps liked to have been offered a complimentary coffee or drink for our disjointed lunch but this did not take away how tasty the lunch was so as did, would try again.
This was an amazing night and thanks so much for all the effort you put in to make Our daughters birthday so special. We had a reservation at daylesford which they cancelled and we usually go there for birthdays but in future we will always come to you! Thanks so much
Great lunch. Thank you!
Enjoyed our visit again.
Excellent food and a wonderful evening all round.
Exceptional service and great food although the restricted may be a problem to some diners.
Great place. We'll be back.
