About The Kingham Plough
Located in the Oxfordshire village of Kingham, near Chipping Norton, the Kingham Plough has achieved a happy balance between a ‘proper’ pub and an exceptional dining room. The Kingham Plough regularly features in the top 100 restaurants in the National Restaurant Awards and the Top 50 Gastropubs and have won the 2019 National Dining Pub of the Year in the Good Pub Guide. The Kingham Plough continues to be recommended in the Michelin and AA guides amongst many others.
In addition to the dining pub, they have six comfortable bedrooms upstairs to really make the most of your Cotswolds experience.
The Kingham Plough is both child-friendly and dog-friendly, maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that is comfortable, welcoming and inclusive. It is everything that an exceptional Cotswolds dining pub with rooms should be.
Great local pub with friendly service. Good quality, well priced, varied food. I was a big fan of previous management, but have to admit - the new team is even better!
Excellent service and food to match!
Fabulous food one of the next meals we have had. Excellent table just as requested ideal position for two small dogs well out of the way The only thing to comment on less positively was Service. It took a long time for each course to arrive, perhaps excusable for main course as it was beautifully cooked to order but not desert said he made a mistake with the desert course order.
Great meal all round. Great service, lovely food and a warm pub atmosphere
We had a lovely lunch at the Plough. Great food and very friendly service, we all really enjoyed the experience.
Lovely food, and really friendly and helpful staff.
Food was delicious and every member or staff that we came across were so friendly. I have already recommended you to friends that live nearby. We will definitely visit again when we are next in the area.
Excellent food beautifully presented with attentive service. We will be returning
had to change main dish as it was impossible to eat
Although exceptionally busy, the welcome was super friendly. We were shown to our table by the landlord and immediately offered drinks by the excellent Kiwi waitress. Her service was exceptional, as was the food on the whole. My calves’ liver was melt in the mouth, my partner’s steak was very good but lacked flavour. Food was washed down with an enjoyable, inexpensive Malbec. After a our foodie weekend in the Cotswolds, hands down this was the best place we ate.
Fantastic stay at the Plough, dinner and breakfast absolutely top notch. Really great value for money and genuine, attentive staff.
Quirky little pub with beautiful interior. We were the only ones for lunch as we arrived just before midday. Battered fish & chips were delicious, would have preferred peas instead of mushed peas. We starters were very good & we shared a chocolate gateau which was so good.
We loved the food at the Kingham Plough - the most delicious duck. The setting is charming and you are in one of the nicest place in the Cotswolds. Enjoy it!
Nice selection of wine for a perfect meal
The food was superb. The staff were friendly, but could do with training - things like not reaching across diners to place glasses or plates, always looking round the room to make sure there is no-one trying to attract a member of staff's attention, more professional and less casual, etc. We had to wait for our drinks and chase them up on 2 occasions .. You deserve to do well, but this lets you down at the moment.
Great Pub! Fantastic staff, friendly locals, and amazing food! But don't tell everyone!! Its our secret!
Cosy and great service!
Loved the food and our waiter was so nice and friendly! Will come back if we're in the area again!
Friendly atmosphere pleasant staff
Great food and great place to stay
Great place, great service, worth a detour if you are nearby. recommend
Had a nice meal but the service was very very slow.
The new owner has challenges with new teams in both back and front of house. The staff however are enthusiastic and with support and training, the Plough could easily return to its former glories.
The best fish and chips in a gourmet restaurant in a long time. Service was also pretty good (the new owner introduced himself) though some of it was a little inexperienced. The worst feature was the atmosphere - a large table nearby with a big family arrived half way through our meal. Several of the children were crawling / playing on the floor. No problem with children, especially as it was a weekend, but there needs to be some order and control. Next time we'll eat in the bar during a weekend as we don;t want to miss the excellent food.
