About The Kent Tapas Company (formerly The Bench)
The Bench is an exciting Wine & Tapas Bar in the the historic Courtyard @ Mersham Le Hatch serving up to 48 Wines by the Glass to compliment some of the finest Tapas Kent has to offer!
It took us a while to find this restaurant, but now we are hoping to become semi regular visitors. We went there for my birthday meal and couldn't have chosen a much better place! The staff were friendly and helpful without being bothersome. The food was very tasty.
Would be good for roast to have other options of meat as not everyone likes beef and pork.
A wonderful night. Great atmosphere, really friendly and fun staff and lovely variety on the menu. My only complaint is the number of dishes that contain chilli! Although I love it, wife does not, and it just seemed on a few too many of the dishes. Apart from that, perfect.
Service warm and friendly. Food was good but not amazing. Served very dry, almost stale bread.
Always fantastic service and food.
The food was amazing, can’t fault that at all! However, we were slightly disappointed with the service - staff were not very attentive and small details were missed.
Had a delicious meal. Everyone really enjoyed it. The pudding selection is the highlight of the meal!
We had preordered Paella and it was exceptionally good, the service spot on and the self service wine offering is quirky and a terrific idea.
Enjoyed a very tasty meal with friends and found the menu to be extensive. This is our second time of dining here and we would highly recommend The Kent Tapas Co. to other people. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
The staff were very attentive, the service was great and we could not fault the food. It was superb. Will definitely return again very soon
Fabulous fantastic n faultless! Will be back xx
Brilliant service and delicious food!
Food was delicious and good service
Wonderful food and service
We will definitely be visiting again!
The food was all superb, the wine was delicious, the staff were helpful and attentive. Some very minor issues but these reduced the overall polish- There was no Aperol left, the beer menu had many changes and unavailabilities, the menus were printed but the ink was running out.
Felt the selection was quite limited.
Head chef was very nice. & very helpful with my daughter who is gluten free. Waiter was very chatty & all so very nice. We will definitely be returning.
Generally very good , however on this occasion and also on previous visits the customer always has to chase the staff for attention, it would be nice if they were a little more proactive.
it took over half an hour after arriving before we were even served drinks despite the restaurant being very quiet. Waitress’ attitude was poor and she clearly just wanted to finish her shift and get away rather than deal with us. Food was very nice though. We were given the incorrect bill, being charged for drinks we already paid for. Tried on numerous occasions to get waiter’s attention to order more drinks during meal, but was ignored.
Hi there. First time I was in a party of 4 and you forgot a dish and it never arrived. The second time was a party of 8 and it was compulsory to have set menu. When I asked if we could change one dish there was disgruntlement but reluctantly agreed. This dish never came either. I would probably try again as a small group but not a larger one due to the constraints of the set menu. Food and drink all good though and the desert platter was very popular with our group
It's a lovely place. The sunday roast is superb.
disappointing starter, lovely main and dessert.. however food just dumped on the table.. no explanation or even smile
We bought three elderly parents here for lunch on Saturday. David could not have been more pleasant or accommodating, including putting on a beetroot tart from the old menu at my request! The food was just delicious and our parents all said how much they had enjoyed it and would like to come back. Thank you! Jon and Rosalind
