About The Kent Tapas Company (formerly The Bench)
The Kent Tapas Company is an exciting Wine & Tapas Bar in the the historic Courtyard @ Mersham Le Hatch serving up to 48 Wines by the Glass to compliment some of the finest Tapas Kent has to offer!
Very good meal and friendly efficient service. Thoroughly recommend.
Food and service was amazing! Highly recommend :)
The offers advertised on the website were not available on the night, so rvuce was poor as we kept being disturbed a very 10 minutes asking if we were OK, more drinks, anything else, to finally have our table wiped in front of us with a dirty cloth and starting taking our salt and pepper pots, so despite it being 21:20 and the restaurant being very quiet, we got the message, paid up and left.
Lovely light lunch on a beautiful sunny day. Excellent house wine.
My favourite restaurant to eat at! The most gorgeous food
Excellent food, drink & service. No improvement necessary. Keep up the good work!!
So disappointed. Food was average. Service was very poor. (Would have made allowances if it was really busy but it wasn’t) staff were unfriendly and very inexperienced. Will not recommend
Only marked 4 stars on atmosphere as I prefer a country pub atmosphere...some of the music was a little inappropriate for young children
We had a lovely meal for our first Father's Day but I was really disappointed with the service. I can appreciate that the restaurant may have been busier than usual but it was rather quiet when we arrived and yet still the orders were incorrect and the wait time was longer than expected.
We had a very enjoyable evening and the staff, well they were just brilliant. Super service and lovely with it. Food was excellent. Wine & cocktails went down a treat too.
Phenomenal food as always
A great dining experience in lovely settings
Love the menu and the relaxed atmosphere. Can't fault it.
We went to Bench for my daughters birthday and wow what fantastic food and drink, can fault it! The only criticism would be a little bit over priced! Especially cocktails! But all in all 5 stars from us.
Bit disappointed really. Service wasn’t great and a bit rushed. There was a massive table with about 20 people eating at the same time as us, so understand that it makes it a bit difficult but we were told that our order couldn’t be taken yet until the large order had been. But the menu was so limited I couldn’t understand the reasoning behind this. I thought the guy we were waiting for might actually come and spend some time explaining the tapas or something and that was the reason why the lady before couldn’t take the order, but no, the guy took our order and it took about 20 seconds. Food was ok though I was surprised to have deep fried Brie in a tapas dish. Wine machine is a nice distraction to the general ok but not great way the place is. Roast dinner board to be fair wasn’t bad. But on a Sunday it appears you only get the Sunday lunch menu which is pretty limited. It’s a tapas place I thought. I love a roast, but it’s a very limited menu on a Sunday. I’m not the sort of person who normally leaves a review but this place should be so much better then it actually is and that frustration is why I left a review.
It took us a while to find this restaurant, but now we are hoping to become semi regular visitors. We went there for my birthday meal and couldn't have chosen a much better place! The staff were friendly and helpful without being bothersome. The food was very tasty.
Would be good for roast to have other options of meat as not everyone likes beef and pork.
A wonderful night. Great atmosphere, really friendly and fun staff and lovely variety on the menu. My only complaint is the number of dishes that contain chilli! Although I love it, wife does not, and it just seemed on a few too many of the dishes. Apart from that, perfect.
Service warm and friendly. Food was good but not amazing. Served very dry, almost stale bread.
Always fantastic service and food.
The food was amazing, can’t fault that at all! However, we were slightly disappointed with the service - staff were not very attentive and small details were missed.
Had a delicious meal. Everyone really enjoyed it. The pudding selection is the highlight of the meal!
We had preordered Paella and it was exceptionally good, the service spot on and the self service wine offering is quirky and a terrific idea.
