Excellent service, great food. Dining room a little noisy due to large party next to us but would definitely visit again.
Nice time thanks guys
I booked the blue room for a family gathering of 11 people on a weekday evening. The food, service and venue were all first class. I would highly recommend it. The fire alarm did go off mid way through and took what seemed like an age to remedy (there was no emergency) but was probably only five mins. My family said it was alarm carma, as about 20 years ago I lived in Stanley Road and the external alarm of the Kensington went off out of hours. There was no one to deactivate it. So after an hour of trying to remedy the situation conventionally I set up a ladder and ripped the offending unit off the pub. Hey ho.
Great food + service
This was a sort of joint birthday dinner. All was lovely, but I was shocked at the paucity of my gnocchi as against its priciness - £16. The portion was more like a starter, so the price stings a wee bit. Paul.
Great place to spend an evening
We had a delicious lunch from the very reasonably priced set lunch menu. Thank you very much!
Lovely 3 course Sunday Lunch. Nice atmosphere and great service from the staff. Would definitely recommend The Kensington Arms.
We had to send one meal back because the meat was too fatty. All of the beef was tough & chewy. We weren’t able to order two extra roast potatoes because you didn’t have enough. However there was a huge pile of them sat on the kitchen service bar. The meat was just hugely disappointing. Starters and desserts were very good.
Yet another Excellent meal, with a very friendly, and excellent front of house.
Food was great, and the service was excellent. Didn't catch her name but the french waiter was extremely attentive, just the right amount of chat with us, and never made us feel like we had to leave.
A relaxed evening, tasty food, good service and a very nice dining room.
Really lovely meal, yummy and well thought out dishes that really impressed us both.
Good food and excellent service as always.
Loved the food, though I'd recommend holding back a bit on the salt in the crab fishcakes. Did you use lime zest/leaf? That was a nice touch. Enjoyed the veggie Wellington too, and the fish. The Frangipane was good, but a bit dry in parts. The only negative thing was that the Gents' loos were 'minging', according to my other half, who normally has no sense of smell. Perhaps a stronger extractor fan would help? We're hoping to book one of the private rooms so we'd have to ask all the men to cross their legs!
We all have different tastes and expectations, but we ALL really enjoyed the meal and the experience. The service was friendly, attentive and efficient, and the cooking was really nice. Well done!
A great Sunday lunch
The staff are friendly and the setting is nice. The food was very tasty, but not too different from other offerings close by that are slightly cheaper.
We had an excellent evening.although we did not get the bar we were assured to have in the Mustard room. My guests had to negotiate the stairs down to the bar and through the very busy restaurant area and back up again carrying drinks.the staff were excellent and did do their best to help but with 28 guests needing drinks obviously was going to be too much for them.
We love 'The Kenny'. It's a great place to bring friends and business contacts.
Nice pub, friendly and helpful staff, food underwhelming; nibbles rather plain, veg burger had no taste whatsoever, lemon posset was too runny, the chocolate brownie not soft and squidgy more lumpen. Cheese board fantastic.
The local sustainability group books the Mustard Room upstairs once a month. Lovely location and the staff have been very helpful and easy to communicate with for bookings etc.
I was disappointed with the meal I ordered. I ordered the beetroot soup which tasted more like tomatoes soup. This was followed by the roasted cauliflower and quinoa burger with sumac, yogurt and onion. The latter part of this dish was omitted and instead served with something resembling sweet chilli jam- which was very sweet and overwhelmed the subtle taste of cauliflower. I spoke to our waitress about this, she seemed to be bewildered and muttered something about telling the chef, then nothing else happened.
Service was poor, veggie choice limited. Starters nice for meat eaters. Awesome lemon posset. Steak was fatty & cold chips.
