Whether it be a spot of afternoon tea in the Orangery or a family celebration in the Dining room. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Afternoon Tea is served Tuesday to Saturday 14.00 - 17.00 (last booking at 16.30)
Champagne breakfast to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Booked online a few days before as couldn't get through on the phone despite calling a number of times the previous week. Also tried to call several times between 6.30am and 8.30am on the morning itself to explain our timeframe and to pay in advance as I didn't want to pay with my wife at the table on her birthday. Arrived about two minutes early for a 9am sitting. Female member of staff sat next to bar. Young male member of staff behind the bar. Neither welcomed us as we walked in. I approached the bar and was ignored. I told the female member of staff that we were there for breakfast. She told the male who looked for our booking on a list, said he couldn't find it and that he would be back in a minute. In the meantime another male member of staff arrived and took us through to breakfast immediately. We were the only diners at that time. We were seated, but none of the basic niceties were observed, e.g. Pulling seats back, taking coats, asking what the occasion was. No music/atmosphere at all. Breakfast served promptly, which was great. Food was very good. I was offered toast with my breakfast, which I took but had to wait for it and condiments to arrive for a good few minutes. Our table was very crowded! A couple of other tables were in use by the time we were eating but wonder if a side table could be used in such circumstances? Might make things feel a little more comfortable. So overall, food was very good, service was extremely disappointing and we left feeling what a shame it was that some simple things but quite a downer on what should have been a lovely start to the day for us. Unfortunately don't think we'll be going back as a result.
Had a lovely Christmas Dinner and were so pleased we booked for lunch the next Sunday. Would recommend to others. Thank you
We were greeted poorly and not attended to until 11:00 even though we booked for 10:30. The alleged "locally sourced yogurt" advertised on the menu was served as a supermarket pot from the Netherlands, hardly locally sourced. The scrambled egg was clearly done in the same pan as the smoker salmon as it tasted fishy and we had non-fish eaters in our party. We asked for granola and waitress said she just didn't know if that was possible as it meant having to go looking for it. We were not offered the tea and coffee on the menu, just given a few tea/coffee pots that were meant for another table. The pot of beans given on the braskfast was very minimal, almost laughable. I counted approx 14 actual beans! Very dispointand as the breakfast was for my 30th birthday. As a result please can I cancel the afternoon tea I have booked with you on 4th February.
Always a great experience here, fabulous building with lovely food and wide range of real ales from Derby Brewery Co. plus excellent service-one of our favourite places to visit in Derbyshire!
Although I love the building, furniture and decoration we felt that the music could have been more lively and the casino was too small for most people to have a go. The staff were friendly but often there was quite a wait at the bar.
Excellent evening. The staff were extremely attentive and the food was excellent considering how many they were catering for. The whole evening was very well managed and we never felt anything was too much trouble small enough to be personal but still a brilliant atmosphere. Thank you for making our New Year special.
Afternoon tea was lovely however £16.95 for a 10 year old was a little overpriced. I did mention at the time of booking that it was for 2 ladies and a little lady, my daughter. Their was no indication on the website what type of sandwiches there would be - unfortunately my daughter only liked the turkey.
Food-average. Atmosphere- the place was empty so not good (out of your hands). Service- good. Value for money - overpriced for similar elsewhere. Shame as venue has been excellently done..
Excellent food and a lovely setting
The service we received once in your restaurant was fantastic you went above and beyond for our coeliac customer, my only complaint would be how many times I phoned to get a email sent over with a child's menu and being told different things every time I phone, otherwise very good and will be back for my third visit very soon.
Afternoon tea was of a reasonable, but uninspiring, quality. Sandwiches were boring, but cakes tasty. Overall the meal was overpriced for the quantity and quality of food. Service slow, and had to seek out waitresses rather than being waited upon. Unlikely to recommend to others
We had the Christmas Day lunch - 3 people, The food was excellent, especially the roast beef and there was a plentiful supply of well-cooked vegetables - we would suggest that there should be a greater choice of starter dishes than just two, and these should include a good heart-warming soup to start Service was very good with a very pleasant ambience. Overall an excellent experience for a Christmas Day!
Shame we were the first in an empty and quiet dining room for Christmas lunch. No atmosphere and a bit flat. Food was nice and service good if not exceptional
We are close neighbors to the hotel and have enjoyed our many visits and realy want to see the buisiness thrive and prosper. The new management team did an excellent job of supervising the staff to ensure high standards were maintained The refurbished building and decor are second to none and in my opinion with the correct management and close supervision of the less experienced staff the Kedleston Country House could easily become the finest venue of its type in the area
Excellent service and good quality food. Tables were beautifully presented and we really enjoyed our Christmas day.
Amazing evening on Christmas Eve, staff welcoming and attentive, food served quickly and was lovely
Very enjoyable evening, very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and delicious food, what more could you want, will definitely be back in the new year.
Lovely venue but a real shame that there never seems to be many people - they are missing out! Food great but service at table could have been better
10 of us came for Sunday lunch and for all of us it was the first time visiting the hotel.None of us were disappointed at all.Staff were great and very obliging. This will not be our last visit.See you soon
Service was really poor, a special occasion did not feel special at all.
Room included breakfast for £220 we expected to be able to chose but it only came with continental and we sent our tiny fruit plate back because it was mouldy!! Food quality was poor, evening meal didn't reflect the menu description.
My event was a great success. Big thank you to Ian and his team for great hospitality. The food was great and plentiful. Great comments from my guests as to what a fantastic evening they had. One word Perfect!
Delightful! We have just had lunch at The Kedleston Country House Hotel. It was beautifully presented and well served. We were extremely well looked after by Ryan who, we understand, is the recently appointed General Manager there. He was most attentive and ensured that our time at The Kedleston was thoroughly enjoyable. If you wish for a lovely atmosphere and a well cooked, tasty meal then The Kedleston is to be recommended. Well done and thank you to all concerned!
I took my husband to the Kedleston Country House Hotel for a Champagne Breakfast for his birthday. The hotel was lovely inside and out, service was exceptional and the food was first class, could not recommend enough. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
The only problem I had was that you did not have any alcohol free beer in. Apart from this we were very happy with the experience and service.
