About The Jews House Restaurant
Here at The Jews House Restaurant our aim is quite simple: To give you an experience you remember for it's great cooking and attentive service. Award winning Chef Gavin Aitkenhead and Samantha Tomkins have had the restaurant over twelve years. Housed in one of the oldest building in the beautiful and historic city of Lincoln. We are located at the bottom of Steep Hill. A stones throw from the Cathedral and Castle and convenience of the city center.
Gavin's philosophy on food is simple. "My aim as a chef is first and foremost about flavour, then we can get to work on the right balance of textures and cooking techniques. I am passionate about using the best suppliers whether a simple salad or a beautiful saddle of lamb."
The restaurant is over two floors, which is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a private party with family and friends.
Such a wonderful experience - delicious food, friendly service and perfect wine pairings. Can’t fault in any way!
Amazing food and service, already recommended it to my friends and will definitely be returning. Just some feedback on the card payment, the WiFi or card machine wasn’t the best and took 4 attempts. I found it a little embarrassing.
Everything was fabulous .
Very enjoyable evening. Excellent food and superb service.
Fantastic meal and great service!
Excellent as always
Excellent service and food, as per usual! This is our 4th annual visit to the Jews House and it never fails to disappoint. Sam is such an attentive hostess and we had a wonderful evening. We were certainly spoiled for choice with the menu! See you again next year.
The food was nice, but for the price paid I would expect more than just nice. Atmosphere felt pretentious so we didn’t really relax.
We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and superb service.
Very happy with our evening
Only people there so didn't give five stars for atmosphere
Exceptional food and wine (as always!) Thankyou for another lovely evening....everything was outstanding!
Simply put: the Jews House is the finest restaurant in Lincoln. Every element is superlative, from the depth of knowledge (and expertise in selecting) of their wine-list, to the exceptional palette of the chef. Superb. My wife and I go there so very rarely to ensure that it truly is a treat every time. They have never disappointed.
Very pleasant venue with competent service and excellent cuisine
Excellent food. Four of us had options from the a la cartel menu at lunchtime (needs agreed in advance) but everything we received was first class. Nice warm atmosphere and service.
An excellent meal served perfectly by really nice staff who had very good knowledge of the foods they were serving. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be going back.
Enjoyable lunch in comfortable surroundings, a nice treat.
Excellent, friendly service and individually prepared delicious food by the chef added to the ambiance. Wonderful location in a medieval historic home.
An outstanding evening in all aspects.
Beautiful building, just below the cathedral, cosy atmosphere and creative menu. Portions are small but adequate and we enjoyed the meal.
The whole experience was first class from start to finish. Food was gorgeous and the team are great.
Fantastic food, beautifully prepared & presented.
Lovely lunch, couldn’t fault it, only marked down atmosphere as the restaurant was fairly quiet. Definitely our favourite restaurant in Lincolnshire. We’d love to see you open on a Sunday!
Food was delicious however the portion sizes where tiny and the prices where extortionate.. we ended up going somewhere else afterwards as we were still hungry. Waitresses were lovely though
Hello, thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the food, we have noted that you only order one course. We understand you had a gift voucher and did not want to spend over the voucher amount but our menu is based on three courses. Your voucher may have been suited better for lunch. Regards
