We had our Christmas Lunch here on the 6th December and it was wonderful. Staff so pleasant and friendly and food arrived in perfect order and perfectly timed. Fabulous place to hold a work's lunch and this was our 3rd year as it has always been so good. We will definitely be back again soon.
Very enjoyable visit. Great attention paid to dietary requirements. The staff were very pleasant and proficient. Definitely worth another visit.
The ivory is a welcoming restaurant with a lovely setting. The staff where attentive and the service was excellent .Nella our waitress was friendly ,explained everything we asked and sorted out our desserts which came out cold from the kitchen. Not her fault but everything was sorted and it did nothing to spoil our xmas lunch .would recommend The Ivory and hope to return .Thank you
The lunch we had was lovely. The staff were lovely and we were well taken care of. I do think your cocktails and your wine is overpriced - £30 for a bottle of prosecco is a bit on the steep side and £10 for a cocktail is in line with what the Merchant Hotel charges. Your drink prices seem high when compared to other places in the centre of town.
Fab staff, service, food and experience as always!
Staff really helpful & attentive. Food amazing. Good value for money & lovely surroundings.. all round a great lunch & will definitely be back
Great place and great service
We really enjoyed our evening in The Ivory. The food was delicious, portions generous, good range of drinks and great friendly service. We will be back to The Ivory soon!
Met up with some old friends for lunch. Great meal & super service from Monica 😊
Lovely meal, great flavours. Monica, our server was helpful and friendly.
I normally really enjoy coming here to eat however I was recently told I needed to start eating a gluten free diet. Whilst there is options available, I felt my service on Saturday was poor. I wanted the burger, firstly told the kitchen had run out of gf burger baps (at 5:15??) Then I got asked if my burger would be ok served in a seasme bagel? My confusion was met with "it's just the same anyway" and I was made to feel quite stupid. I then wanted to change my order as I didn't want the burger in a bagel so I chose the chicken to be told there would be things missing from it, not replaced for the same price. I know catering for allergies and intolerances is a difficult task but I was less than impressed with this on Saturday and it's such a shame as I really loved the restaurant.
Only one word to describe the service - impeccable. And the food was amazing.
Fab food and service my favourite restaurant!!!!
We were lucky enough to have the entire restaurant to ourselves, dining early on a Wednesday evening. Our waiter, Eamonn, was very attentive and provided excellent service. We had the breads for starter, with a large portion of the risotto and the duck tacos as mains. The portion sizes were generous and it tasted great!
Everyone was accommodating and food was exactly what we were looking for! Highly recommend visiting here.
Overall I thought the food was pretty average. My wife had the duck tacos for main. The over powering flavour of vinegar (assume was in sauce) made the dish really unpleasant. Her starter of ravioli was undercooked also, but tasted very nice when a replacement fish was cooked. Dessert was just ok. Probably wouldn't return even though the staff were very attentive and pleasant.
Fantastic food great service and amazing settings 11/10 if it was possible... Thank you for such a memorable day
Food was great and staff were so amazing, friendly and helpful
Good food and very attentive service.
I've never had a bad meal at the Ivory, but was a bit underwhelmed this time (Tuesday night) with the lunch menu that was served. The seating area was quite dark; perhaps a few candles would have helped to see the food, or the larger, better lit part of the restaurant could have been utilised. The chicken dish was tasty but not very hot (and sprinkled with parmesan which wasn't mentioned on the menu). The waitress offered to replace it but we were going to a show afterwards so didn't have time to re-order, so I scraped off as much as I could. All in all I couldn't fault the service but perhaps should have checked the menu before I booked it. Also to note that as House of Fraser shuts at 6pm the only access to the restaurant is opposite Centra on Chichester street (which we didn't see at first) and not through the doors on the corner or via Victoria Square
Delicious Sunday lunch in relaxed setting
Went with my wife to celebrate her birthday with another couple. We were intially served by a male waiter who got us our menus and drinks. We were then served foreign girl with blonde hair and she was fantastic and actually persuaded me to buy a red wine Cappacino instead if my usual Malbec and it was beautiful. We were then served by two other females for the remainder of our evening and they seemed to forget ab us and we had to chase them for our dessert menu. We opted for 3 irish coffees and a chocolate orange mousse with cream for the birthday girl. The irish coffees were served almost immediately and my wife had to wait for another 15 minutes before having to ask the server where it was . The girl came back and served it and to be fair apologised. Thats the only negative about the evening. Great food and reasonably priced i will be back hopefully no hiccups on service next time
