About The Inn at Huxley
The Inn at Huxley is a family-owned restaurant and bar in the Cheshire village of Huxley. Serving a small and seasonal menu, our food is cooked to order and showcases quality produce sourced from local and regional suppliers or from our own vegetable patch.
Was very good choice of veg would of been better may be more yorkshire puds too But yes ok our 1st wedding anniversary meal Thumbs up guys
Great Food, really had lovely time and very impressed with baby high chair provided.
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE FOOD AND QUALITY OF SERVICE . I WILL BE BACK SOON.
Fantastic find. Food and service was sublime. Ben, the front of house manager, was professional & friendly and was happy to show us enthusiastically around the restaurant and bar. We will certainly visit again.
Absolutely love it here !! Fabulous attention to detail , attentive staff, and the food is always first class . The menu is pricey but definitely worth it . A lovely place to just go for a glass of wine on a nice evening as the outside area affords some lovely views and is a nice peaceful place to chill .
Another exceptional meal will be back again
We had an amazing time, everything about The Inn at Huxley was very well put together and welcoming. We were worried that it would be stuffy, but it couldn’t be further from it, all the staff were very “normal”, personable and attentive. The food portions were also much more generous than expected and we left so full up of high quality, tasty food. The patio area looked beautiful and the children really enjoyed exploring the kitchen gardens. We’ll definitely return again.
We had a fantastic meal here this week. One of the best Sirloin Steak’s I’ve had & chips to die for! Very friendly front of house greeting, will definitely be returning!
Excellent attentive service but atmosphere slightly spoiled by noisy children and background music being too loud. Food and drinks very good but are priced to suit the sumptuous surroundings! When I made the booking the weather was hot & sunny and we were looking forward to drinking aperitifs outside, however it was raining on the day so perhaps another time.
Sunday lunch was pretty average and expensive compared to other local eateries.
Inn @ Huxley personal feedback for team per request dated 29/7/19 We’ve been for meals here on several occasions now, and each time we’ve brought new guests along who also share our love of great food with fantastic depth of flavour. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, our friends were very taken with the decor and the service, having heard us praising the whole experience after previous visits. Knowing just how fussy I can be, it made our praise really strike a chord. The staff are very well trained & provide the level of service & attentiveness which is becoming quite a rarity these days, but without feeling obsequious or over the top. It reminds me of the days when most dining experiences were only at restaurants, before the advent of good quality meals then being offered in pubs. It has a very ordered & smooth running level of service for those wishing to enjoy both pre dinner drinks and a very enjoyable meal, or for others, also a warm welcome when opting purely to have a drink in the bar. Though I’m usually the driver as I don’t tend to drink, it’s so wonderful to be presented with both alcoholic & non alcoholic cocktails, which are stunning and perfectly mixed, creating what for me is such a treat, as your range of offerings is really inspired. Two of us had cocktails, with my friend choosing the non alcoholic fruity cocktail, which I also tried, and made a mental note to order one next time, probably after I have another Basil Fruity which I’d been offered by one of your bar staff last time we visited with overseas visitors and I couldn’t find a cocktail that I fancied, but I was told the Basil Fruity was scheduled to be launched the following week. I think it’s probably one of the very best cocktails I’ve ever tasted. We all found ourselves torn between the options for each course, which for me is a rarity. The number of options for each course at first glance appears quite small, but the variety makes it a tough decision. We’ve now been for lunch a couple of times and though there is a course which caters for guests who like a traditional roast dinner, there is nothing ordinary about it. The meat is absolutely amazing quality with everything cooked to perfection. Having the choice of some fish options and yesterday also a fabulous fresh pasta dish we all really felt that we were presented with a dilemma as to which dish to choose, whilst hankering for some of the others too! My friend and I both went for a dessert too, which was also a bit of a quandary, but both were equally delicious with some interesting twists to the composition of both of them. Suffice to say, that’s another couple of friends who are now also fans of the Inn at Huxley, who were already discussing who they’d like to take next time, to share in the exceptionally good quality food, wonderfully presented and very inspired too. The Arancini was an absolute joy for the 2 of us who chose this starter. The flavours were stunning and the delicate texture was amazing because the outer of this was firm enough but also just the right consistency to be cooked but still delicate. The presentation of all the dishes was attractive but not over the top which can sometimes happen when over zealousness can end up being too much.i could bang on for hours about how wonderful each dish was, because there really was nothing that detracted from this experience, other than the weather, which prevented us from moving out to the courtyard to enjoy our coffees. We honestly feel that the kitchen staff from top to bottom, along with the bar staff, the waiting staff and the Maitre D, all combine perfectly to create an experience of a wonderful occasion. If it were viable, I’d have a standing reservation weekly, as I know each visit would be consistently at the same level and it would be impossible to experience anything other than utter joy.
met the owner. What a fantastic host. Full of interesting stories about the restaurant and he is so proud of the place. 5 stars all the way
Perfect everything. Food was outstanding. Services were also immaculate.
We enjoyed a really delicious meal in beautiful surroundings with excellent attentive service - thank you. We thought the place lacked a little atmosphere as there were fewer diners than we expected.
Another great meal, we’ll be back and recommend to our friends
A splendid experience. Excellent quality, presentation and service. Recommended
Impeccable service. Steak was amazing (Rib eye medium rare) Fantastic side salad, full of flavour. Panna Cotta a little disappointing due to size however the garnish was lovely. Would definitely return. Staff made it. Unbelievable fixtures and fittings.
Beautiful restaurant and service. Only issue is that the restaurant lacks atmosphere due to lack of customers.
Will definitely be back
Lovely food, the best in the area, restaurant far too bright and service a little too formal We will come back for the chefs food but please turn some light off to give more atmosphere
Bar a bit slow as there was a wedding on .
Amazing attention to detail. Great service and consistent food quality.
We go a couple of times a month and would definitely recommend. Fantastic food in beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful place, very good service and excellent food!
