About The Hollow Bottom
Gloucestershire's Premier Racing Pub
Welcome to the latest addition of The Lucky Onion Family:
Great service. Lovely food.
Lovely food as always and outside dining area is first class, with heaters and blankets.
Always a warm welcome everyone is so friendly and all the staff and Felix make such a huge effort to give you a great evening out. Great place !!!
Does anyone read these feedback comments? PLEASE change the menu!!!!!
The difficult circumstances of Covid restrictions caused the loss of one star for atmosphere The heaters worked well but permitting smoking in the marquee for us was not quite so good although technically allowable. The service was excellent.
Really wonderful food and super helpful and friendly staff. Felt really comfortable in the Covid safety measures that were in place. Already booked another visit!
I think for what I had, it was quite expensive. It rained so hard, and whilst this can't be avoided, due to covid, we had to sit outside in a marquee. The staff were really attentive and we had blankets and a heater, however the rain did spoil the evening.
We were really pleased to have stumbled across the Hollow Bottom and enjoyed a delicious lunch in the marquee. The food was delicious and well presented, from starter to pudding. We’re definitely going back for more!
Great pub, people, place and food. What more could you ask for?!
Average really. The waitresses placed us in a ‘walkway’ and knocked me about 10 times walking back and forth. My pie was nice but disappointing that it came with nothing but sauce- some veg/ mashed potato surely wouldn’t cost the company more but would make a big difference to how you feel paying expensive prices.
PLEASE change the menu. It’s been the same for over a year, & it’s boring the locals! Molly, Ria & Felix are great
Our waitress was so lovely! Very good with our children and attentive to our needs. The food was delicious! Looking forward to visiting again, thank you!
We had a fun evening outside in the marquee with heating, blankets, great service, staff were rushing around keeping everything going despite the difficulties in fetching food from the kitchens inside the pub. every table was occupied and there was a really great Friday night atmosphere. Only negative for us was that the wine list is pretty terrible. We like to drink French white burgundy and reasonably old French red wines. Neither of which appear on your wine list. However we were allowed to bring our own rather nice bottle and were charged corkage.
A really nice experience, pleasant, attentive staff Nice atmosphere, you've done a great job with your outdoor space.
Despite a grey rainy day, the staff were positive and friendly. Rugs and heaters were readily available and the food was superb. Can’t wait to go back indoors!
We enjoyed our lunch at The Hollow Bottom. The food was great, and the service was attentive. COVID precautions were followed too.
Amazing food !!! My parents had come up from Surrey and they are big foodies, thought it was fantastic. Excellent service too, and the space outside was done really well given the COVID situation. Thank you !
Great service and a lovely meal
My first meal out since the pandemic, a lovely venue well organised to be covid safe. Lovely staff and dog friendly. Great food and warm heaters which kept us warm despite the typical bank holiday weather!
Good outside set up for current restrictions even in bad weather!
Lovely outdoor evening.
We had such a gorgeous lunch, wouldn’t be able to fault anything even if I tried. I asked if it would be at all possible to sit under a heater because my parents were with me, and we were sat under a heater with a blanket. AMAZING food and the service from everyone who came to our table was next level. Really friendly and sweet and we felt very looked after. Thank you so much, it was really lovely. We’ll definitely be coming again!
We have eaten at other restaurants in the group. We won't be going to this restaurant again. The Wheatsheaf is one of our favourite venues, the standard of the food is exciting and we always look forward to dining there. This is what encouraged us to dine at another establishment in the group. Sorry to say it is an experience that we will hurry to forget. The wine choice and menu was poor, met by an underwhelming service with staff texting on their phones in visible sight and during service.
The weather was poor but the welcome warm & friendly and we all (5 walkers) appreciated our food & drink. Already recommending to others.
