Service and food as good as ever. Excellent Covid-19 precauctions in place.
We had a nice meal, but felt service was lacking abit. Ordered Moroccan lamb as a main which came with flatbread. When it arrived the waitress came back with a bowl on nachos, when I asked what they were for she said the chef sent it out because theres no flatbread. Abit disappointed no apologies , if something is stated on the menu and you don't have it , you should be told before the meal is brought out to you , so you have the choice to to choose something else.
Lovely place for a relaxing afternoon tea and great food.
My friends enjoyed it too.
It is partly unfair to review a hotel during covid, but, under the circumstances, the hotel is doing an excellent job. Our stay felt very safe. The staff and the service was superb. The room was excellent, large, with a huge bed and very clean. The menu was limited (especially for a pescitarian), but, again, that is expected atm. The food was, in the main, very good. Do have the cocktails, as they are very good, especially the espresso martinis! Hard to judge the atmosphere atm. I understand that hotels have to make up their money atm, but I do think the food and drink is overpriced. For example, mushroom Wellington £20, once you have added 'sides' of gravy and veggies £23 if you wanted potatoes. Since when did these essential parts off a dish become 'sides'? In all though, we had a lovely stay in this lovely hotel.
Excellent staff and great food
Mum and I were the only people in the orangery for lunch which was a bit weird, but none the less the service we received was brilliant and out waitress was excellent. The food was very good despite it only being sandwiches and a portion of chips, my BLT was perfect and we both commented on how great the bread was and the fillings were excellent, the chips described on the menu as ‘proper chips’ were just that fat, crispy on the outside and soft in the centre!!!! Absolutely perfect and we will be back again soon.
Great food and the service was fantastic, would happily come to eat here again.
Didnt even push the boat out to provide a full round of sandwiches. Felt the sponge cake, macaroons and brownie was shop bought. Had to keep asking for more tea. Originally only received a half filled teapot for the two of us. No Atmosphere. Certainly not worth £30 for it! Had to wait at the door for ages and ring someone to let us in.
Good food, decent beer and pleasant staff make me a regular for Sunday lunch.
Lovely food. Ideal for a family Sunday lunch. Good menu choice and served with plenty of fresh vegetables. Excellent service.
As usual everything excellent.
Very pleasant experience. I would recommend.
First time here and it was great. The service could not be faulted and the food was lovely. We will be back. Thanks
Amazing food, great service and really friendly staff. Really enjoy coming here
Really enjoyable evening food was fab only criticism took a while to get drinks as staff were extremely busy so maybe more staff needed just to take drink orders now it’s table service only
Excellent service and Sunday lunch. Breakfast arrangements disappointing and not very covid safe; too many hard surface touch points.
A lovely lunch as always , service was very good which must be difficult to achieve in these challenging times. We need to support quality restaurants like the Highworth to enable them to continue through this pandemic.
Excellent food & service
Great place COVID safe
We had booked afternoon tea, it was a present from friends. When we arrived it was ok, shown to our table. When we were asked what drink we required, I asked for a Latte, I was told that I had to pay extra for it. The afternoon tea was brought out, the cakes looked great, then the sandwiches came. We were very disappointed being given just 3 each. We have been to many afternoon tea’s and always had at least 5 or 6 Sandwiches. No one came to see if we required more drinks. It was not worth the amount that was paid. We were very disappointed.
Really enjoyed our afternoon tea! Will definitely go again.
Consistently one of the best restaurant Sunday lunches around.
A little bit slow on the service but understandable given the current circumstances
Very good friendly staff good value for money
