Excellent menu with very interesting and delicious dishes. The careful and creative combination of flavours and top quality ingredients made it a meal to remember. Always love to eat at the Haughmond and are never disappointed by any aspect of the food or service. Well done,
Very tasty Sunday lunch, with a good choice of vegetables, superbly cooked and plenty of them too Good selection of ,different, desserts. Our table had four different desserts all tasted luscious. Thank you ‘The Haughmond’. We will be back.
Very good quality sunday lunch
Always have a delicious meal. Consistent standard. Relaxed evening and atmosphere.
Brilliant food, friendly service. Great place for intimate meals and groups. Our party came from Shropshire Hampshire Norfolk and Suffolk. All had a great time. The marmalade gin was good too!
Food is excellent, staff is attentive. But there are better places in Shrewsbury area.
Relaxed and pleasant welcome, good menu, evening meal was excellent too which we gave a thumbs up.
Lovely meal. Scraping the barrel for positive criticism, possibly a dog free part or more fish on mains. Thanks guys,
We requested an extra bowl of vegetables as we like a lot. The waitress seemed grumpy about this. There were three adults. We were given one small bowl gluten free (as requested) and a second small bowl for the other two. Main course quality and puddings were good. We had a long wait before ordering the pudding. We noted that the three people on the next table had a large bowl of vegetables between them - far more than us. The bill included a charge for extra veg. The waitress went off, and coming back announced that she had deducted this - very much as if it was an undeserved favour. Demeanour of the two waitresses was not particularly friendly. We were thinking of booking a 25 person event here but now won't.
We throughly enjoyed our visit. The food was most enjoyable and the staff very helpful. Thank you, we will come again very soon.
Expensive for what we received plus atmosphere could have been more traditional.....'twas canteen like.........from a personal point of view, I don't like having skulls /cadavers of 'souvenirs'on the walls
Really enjoyed our meal & will be back again soon.
I was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile which is always a good start, especially in this day and age! The food is delightful! Perfection on a plate. A huge amount of locally sourced produce is used and the menus always reflect the season. Accompanied by attentive, informative and friendly service there is nothing not to love here!
Very friendly and helpful staff, they ran the service perfectly without rushing through the courses even with it being a busy restaurant. Quality of the food was excellent and I will definitely be recommending to friends and visiting again.
Delicious food and a good choice
We brought guests who were so impressed they paid! As ever it was a pleasure to dine at the Haughmond: the food is imaginative and the service impeccable.
My wife had ham terrine to start and it was fatty. She also had pork shoulder again fatty. I would suggest better cuts or the chef removes some the fat. Simples!
Another great evening here - food was delicious! Will definitely be back soon
Although the food was generally very good and the staff friendly, we felt that the serving of our meal let them down. We had the 7 course taster menu and although we appreciate a suitable time between each course, on this occasion that time was often too long and at the end of the evening we felt we had to ask for our final course and the bill. We appreciate that all establishments have an off day which is why we will return.
As it was a birthday celebration we decided to go for the 7 course taster menu, a fabulous choice! Food was delicious and Gemma, our host, was extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and very friendly.
Very enjoyable evening
Lovely little place. Would recommend to anyone wanting value for money for very high standards
Great staff and service,
Class meal and service as always.👌🏿
Service was unusually slow had to wait 15mins for someone to take our order and that was only after I had to go and ask . Food was as lovely as always
