About The Half Moon
The Half Moon is a country pub, restaurant and kitchen garden located in the beautiful village of Kirdford, West Sussex.
Honest, organic and home from home are just some of the values we hold close and our guests can expect flavour and quality to be at the centre of everything we create or do.
From a la carte to tasting, we offer a selection of menus inspired by the seasons and the ever-changing Sussex Downs. In addition, we utilise quality British produce sourced as locally as possible.
Our beverage list is diverse and constantly evolving to ensure our guests can enjoy local real ales, craft lagers and fine Sussex Wines.
Whether you visit our garden room, restaurant, lounge or terrace, we encourage you to sit back, unwind and let our friendly team look after you.
Very enjoyable meal with excellent service in a beautiful location
A delightful experience and will be returning a lot sooner than expected!
Great service staff very friendly We a good experience food very hot and a lot of it value for money
What a lovely pub. Great food. Spot on service. Good value. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Great food great service terrific atmosphere
Outstanding meal and lovely to sit in the garden . Ella looked after us so well .
Looks like every other “gastro pub” but with one big difference.... NO BEER. We left.
Very welcoming quaint public house in a quiet location, the standard of food is of the highest quality my friend and I were very impressed we will be back. Thankyou the halfmoon staff keep up the good work, Neil and P. d
A lovely Sunday lunch. Perfect quantity. Charming staff who managed to rustle up a bottle of Provence rose not on the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Terrific country pub with excellent service food and atmosphere has become our favourite in rh14 post code area
One of the main courses was over cooked
Thank you very much for a lovely Sunday lunch and for being so accommodating as we messed around with our reservation!
After all the recommendations we expected more. The food was interesting but simply not good enough for the prices charged. One of our party ordered a steak which was tough and inedible. Such a disappointing meal.
Great service terrific food lovely atmosphere
Disappointing visit. A couple of guests very clearly requested a 'mini roast' for their main course as this was available. However they were given a standard adult portion. When we questioned this we were told that we should have requested a child's roast. This is not how it is described on the menu and if that's the case why didn't the waitress advise or question the order when it was placed? Food was wasted and we were charged for it. Service was slow and despite the waiting staff efforts to provide a restaurant style service where they know what has been ordered by each person this was not consistent and looked sloppy. Would have been better to have not tried and just asked when they approached the table who was having what. Roast beef was quite tough too. Really disappointed will not return
Very pleasant and welcoming staff who knew their job. Helpful and courteous they made you feel as if you were the only person there. Could not wish for better: we'll be back soon.
Booked on Line no mention that fixed price menu was not available for our booking only informed when I requested that menu when we arrived. Food choices were good but very slow service due to staffing levels and very busy, obvious training of new staff obviously didn’t help. I had lamb advertised as with fondant potatoes had a substitute of two small new potatoes and no mention of the change. I do think when ordering from the al a cart menu some vegetables should be included. Our previous visits have felt more special and good. Value due to ordering from the fixed price menu which we intended to do for our anniversary lunch which I put on the booking but no acknowledgement on the day. I would suggest that if fixed price menus are not available it should brought to the attention when booking. And also should be considered when taking bookings how many staff are on duty.
Another great lunch at the Half Moon. Delicious food and attentive service as always. Thank you.
Very enjoyable lunch with helpful and friendly staff
We went with our family on Easter Sunday, weather was perfect , we where sat in the garden. Everything about the half moon is perfect, the staff food , location everything!! Front of house is so attentive, they are so welcoming each time we have been. The food is delicious, from starters to main to puddings. I could eat here everyday. The Taylor family love this place and will be back. Thank you.
Great service thank you a very enjoyable dining experience
Thank you for a lovely lunch, we brought over some friends who also really enjoyed it, looking forward to coming* back soon
Lovely evening, great food and friendly service - thanks to all the team! (PS: just for info, you've got a typo in your 'please review us' message: the word "adds" needs correcting to "acts".)
Beautiful restaurant with lovely interiors thoughtfully executed. Service was charming and best of all, the food was really really good. We return again & again.
