About The Gurnard's Head
A dining pub with rooms on Cornwall's Atlantic coast between St. Ives and St. Just, near the Minack Theatre, Zennor, Penzance and Newlyn. Food that you want to eat, that is strong in flavour and spirited, cooked beautifully and ingredients sourced locally. Our short, fresh and seasonal menu changes every day according to what is brought to our back door or what our chefs feel is at its seasonal best.
We’ve wanted to come for years and whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and efforts have been made to overcome restrictions and we might try a post pandemic break to experience with cozy fires etc I do feel given the circumstances it was a bit expensive for a breezy pub garden experience - some less expensive options should be available given that clients don’t want to linger in the cold.
Lovey Breakfast, Lovely staff Will definitely be back.
Despite the sudden increase in wind factor we were able to enjoy our delicious lunch. Very friendly service
Only thing would be for the menu to be updated on the website but lovely meal and we will definitely visit again
Fabulous food, the nicest lunch I have had in a long while, the gurnard, the cabbage, the crab, absolute creations with the main ingredient, loved it all!!
We really loved the scenery attentive staff food was great.
Food was fantastic!
It was a great birthday lunch we loved it thank you. Did you find a very small yellow plastic spoon on the floor where we sat as it belongs to my Grandaughter s tea set which kept her occupied whilst we enjoyed our lovely meal and she is missing it already?!!!! Anthony Frost X
We were pleased to be able to make our lunch reservation and enjoyed our meal but the offer of a fleece/ blanket due to the cold wind would have been welcome. It will be great to visit again when we are able to eat indoors.
So good I don't want to leave a review in case I cant book again in the future. However, there are very few dining experiences like this one, that offer an experience in such an incredibly beautiful part of the world. The team at the Gurnard's Head are incredible and the food is equally matched.
Delicious food, lovely afternoon despite eating outside and a bit windy!
We loved it and I would like to thank Belinda for being so patient and helpful with my erratic booking mess ups!!! Anthony Frost X X X
Had such a lovely lunch there on Saturday! The food was so delicious and the service was amazing and so accommodating! Thank you
Excellent meal as always.
The food was spectacular, and Susanna was delightful!
A lovely treat for husbands birthday. You have made it as good as can be with all the restrictions. we all loved our food and drink!
Visited the Gurnard’s Head on a sunny bank holiday weekend in May. The weather was glorious so we were able to sit out in the sunshine and enjoy what was one of our favourite meals in a long time. The food was delicious, the service very friendly and prompt and all very good value for money. The garden itself is beautifully kept and they had a tent up to keep the bad weather at bay in Covid-times. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for more. We parked at Zennor and did the circular route with lunch in the middle which was also highly enjoyable
It was a delight to be back at the Gurnards Head yesterday. The food was superb and the staff were warm and friendly as ever. It has become our favourite place to eat Ian’s look forward to our next visit.
It was freezing cold which spoiled the occasion. The use of outside heaters would help if you had them.
We ate on a blustery, cold, wet day. Wore lots of layers! Staff were very good natured as serving us in that environment cannot be easy. Food was very good and the lovely selection of wines helped us huddle and enjoy under canvas. Well done. So pleased we could celebrate a big birthday.
So lucky to reserve a table and eat outside in these difficult times. They gave us a special menu due to a particular allergy. Excellent food and great service despite staff having to walk backwards and forwards across the grass. The salt fish cod and duck we’re delicious Will return when in Cornwall again
Well done on the small plates served until 7pm. We loved the food and the waitress was lovely. Wind very chilly but the view heavenly. Keep on doing what you do - good food and drink in a warm ambient atmosphere (even if the actual weather is freezing just now!) We will be back...
