About The Griffin
The Griffin is a traditional bar and restaurant that was built alongside the Kings Theatre in 1903. Sitting across the road from the theatre it is a perfect place to visit before a show and grab a bite to eat from the main menu or Pre-Theatre. The Griffin located on Bath street is also great for lunches and casual drinks with your friends or work colleagues 7 days a week.
We all had a great night food and service was amazing staff are so helpful and friendly really made our night thank you .
Had lovely meal, drinks and gorgeous French Martinis with friends before a show on 18/8/18. Excellent service and food thanks!
The only comment is the portion was a little too big. I hate waste but couldn't finish it. Even though very good.
Great atmosphere. Enjoyed everything we ordered.
Great food very friendly staff.
Love the extended menu, especially the mac & cheese with a twist. Great food, value for money and the service was excellent.
Great experience to start our visit to the theatre. Would definitely recommend it to friends.
Asked to add additional guests which team managed to squeeze and I mean squeeze in as really busy so was appreciated. Only had snack food which was adequate but seen others with meals and they looked lovely, drink is a bit expensive at £18 for a bottle of wine, could do reduced rates but has a market I suppose with the Kings customers as it is so close but seems a bit expensive to me. However, enjoyed and would go back and book for correct number in party in order to try the food in full.
Staff lovely, food was decent and the place was clean. Always love a wee visit to the griffin xx
Good great busy and lively
Excellent value for money can't complain.....2 meals and 2 drinks for under £20
Would be good if you could substitute salad with veg. I did ask if it was possible but was told I'd need to pay for veg as as a side 😔 otherwise couldn't fault the food or service. Staff very friendly. Great place to eat before visiting King's Theatre.
Very enjoyable lunch.
Menu impressed as limited All meals chosen however were excellent
No pink gin but I enjoyed the rock rose gin from extensive gin menu.
Staff very helpful and food very good quality and value. Ramp into/out of the restaurant could be better. The height gradient not correct for the height of the step.
Food was ok not that nice
Food good and well priced.
Amazing selection of Scottish gins! Great service & fab atmosphere. Had The Griffin’s speciality chicken goujons - they were very special! Would highly recommend.
Had a lovely meal and we were put in the gin lounge as your member of staff thought it would be cosier.
My mum & I popped in on Monday eve before a show. Our server was just lovely, I wish I could remember her name. We decided on a selection of sides to share and we recommended a lovely dessert to share. We were seated in the back area of the pub and will definitely be back.
Large gin menu but no pink gin. No flavoured tonic and gin came in an ordinary straight side small glass. Not a gin experience. Were shown to the party room for dinner but no atmosphere. 3 of us were sat at 2 small round bar tables pushed together which didn’t feel like a dinner table. Plenty of tables and booths in the bar so not sure why we were in the party room. Food was nice. My Glasgow hash tasted good but was just verging on being over cooked so by half way thru the black pudding was hard. Excellent location for pre show at the kings. Would return but just get table in the bar.
The chap serving us was lovely, and very helpful - and the food was delish!
This time the food did slightly disappoint us, it was below par and slightly bland, if I am perfectly honest. Although we were in the function suite "overflow" this suited us noise wise as we were not looking for "atmosphere". Service was great, as usual.
Lovely meal and lovely restaurant 😊
