About The Greyhound Inn
Everyone is very welcome at The Greyhound Inn, an 18th century free house, in the centre of Letcombe Regis, a pretty downland village within the Vale of the White Horse region of Oxfordshire.
Our fabulous kitchen team have a reputation for cooking up delicious and imaginative dishes.
All of the food is homemade and freshly cooked, and based on great, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Alongside some great pub classics you will find our menu is inspired by the seasons, and our specials based on the gems our suppliers bring us.
We have an à la Carte menu every day, and at lunchtimes (not Sundays) we also have a range of delicious sandwiches available.
Children of all sizes are very welcome at the Greyhound and we like to offer them fresh homemade food too, with some children’s favourites and the option of smaller portions of the grown up’s dishes.
Dogs welcome and we offer water bowls and treats at the bar.
Very pleasant meal with great food. Service was efficient and all Covid measures taken to keep people safe. Thanks will be back!
Fantastic food. Service was a little bit slow and it took ages to pay the bill.
Service very slow. Appreciate due to Covid the need for table service but if this is the case then more staff are needed. Had to get the attention of the waiter for everything. Value for money good because of the Government 50% Off but had it have been full price would have been very expensive. Having said that The food was delicious.
We enjoyed the meal and the ambience..The garden dining experience was great. One minor problem was that service was slow but as we were with friends who we see rarely it did not matter
Absolutely delicious lunch. Really...compliments to the chef! To keep the food interesting without being too fancy...and the flavours were awesome. Great atmosphere too in the sun drenched garden. Thanks for a memorable meal. We'll be back
We are regulars and it was good to be back after the covid enforced break.
Very friendly staff
Excellent as ever, and very good service. The Greyhound is living up to its reputation and has managed the transition to COVID-19 rules very well indeed. Proof of the pudding is the frequency of our visits!
We sat in the garden and really enjoyed our burgers, chips and slaw. The burgers were obviously home made and was really tasty, with 2 rashers of lovely crispy bacon and loads of cheese. We then had the Strawberry Eton Mess for pudding which was really tasty, but we felt that the portion size was a bit small for the price. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We used the Government's Eat Out To Help Out scheme so got our food half price, which was even better. We have already discussed going back again and have already recommended it to friends and family.
I could not believe the bill was so low- £31 for two courses chosen from the “discount” menu, with a glass of wine, for two people. Should it not have been £51? Anyhow, you did not give our table away as we were so late (half an hour) in arriving. We were intrigued that the staff were English. This seems to be coming the norm. Formerly they would have come from outside the UK.
The experience was divided. On the one hand was a superb plate of plaice. Nicely presented with complementary vegetables. an excellent choice and deserving of five stars. On the other hand was the quinoa and white bean burger. This was truly dismal; one star at best. Ordering the vegetarian option I was expecting a fresh plate of food/summer tastes. The salsa was pleasant but the burger was a deep-fried "mess". Made even worse by a covering of melted cheddar cheese. The salad was a single leaf of iceberg lettuce. I suggest you drop this from the menu or make it v clear it is fried food.
Fantastic gluten-free options, absolutely delicious food and friendly service
good experience, fish and chips were particularly enjoyed. Good service.
Everything beautifully cooked and presented, really super evening!
Burgers dry and £80 for meal for 4 with No alcohol, starters, or desserts bit expensive.
Friendly, efficient, professional. Lovely food beautifully presented.
First time dining here and it most certainly won’t be the last! Food delicious, staff friendly and helpful made to feel welcome and safe with all the covid precautions in place. This was our first meal out since lockdown and it was wonderful!
Great service and lovely vegan and vegetarian options
Excellent food we ate inside but enough space for social distancing
Delicious Food, Excellent presentation. Service late afternoon was just a little slow. However this was understandable as lots of customers. James.
Overpriced food. Slow service which was lacking in attention to detail.
This was our first visit to The Greyhound. The service and food was excellent and we will definitely recommend to our friends and hope to come back soon . Many thanks
Wasn't made very welcome, non attentive staff
