About Afternoon Tea at Cliveden
Built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham, as a gift to his mistress, Cliveden House has remained a pinnacle of intrigue and glamour for the elite.
Enriched with antique furniture and period features, it has stayed true to its roots whilst also providing a luxurious setting to rest, meet and play.
Now, our Grade I stately home set upon 376 acres of National Trust grounds is a luxurious five-star hotel, ready and waiting to welcome you in.
It was very disappointing as we paid for the menu and we didn’t get anything on there other than the scones. It would have been nice to have been told before we ordered we weren’t getting the menu before it just arrived as some of it was off the menu we had eaten in the restaurant the night before. I know it is a difficult time but it should have been communicated.
Beautiful venue, wonderful atmosphere and healthful staff. Thank you for making our day special xx
Perfect afternoon. Excellent attentive staff. Food was lovely.
Lovely views from the table most attentive service can not fault anything hope to come back after this worrying time . Please Keep safe Best wishes to all your lovely staff
We were delighted to be able to use the birthday present. For the first half hour there were only two tables occupied and then another two after that. The service was excellent and the food amazing. We were obviously concerned about the Coronavirus but didn’t feel threatened by this. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
beautiful settings staff very friendly and helpfull
Always a lovely atmosphere and wonderful to look across the valley - very good selection/mix of savoury and sweet - thank you for a very tasty afternoon tea and the cake to take away was very much appreciated.
A wonderful treat. Very special place and unbeatable service
We were really disappointed. It took well over an hour for our food to come, and then the subsequent courses (scones, birthday cake) took even longer. We had an apology at the half hour mark, then had to ask at the hour mark, then it still took another 20 minutes. It was my son’s 9th birthday and both my children were famished and very upset. They had to wait such a long time, so by the time the food came they had had 2 chocolates (to try & keep them going) and were feeling sick. The children’s sandwiches were not fresh, they had clearly been sitting out for a while (bread a bit crispy) so I have no idea why they didn’t bring them sooner. We had to ask several times and while we got apologies, there was no real seriousness to them. No offer to make up for anything, despite us complaining to most of the staff - and then agreeing that the wait was awful. We are very disappointed and my son is very upset that his birthday was ruined. Unimpressive. We expected much more.
Lovely afternoon tea over looking Cliveden gardens and a enjoyable walk afterwards - I recommend this way to spend time with friends
It is an experience to have afternoon tea at the Cliveden but I feel it is slightly overpriced. I have had afternoon tea in many different places and although the venue is very grand with good food, I do feel that it is a little too expensive and I would highlight this to anyone asking me for feedback on our experience.
Our table had the best view of the gardens. the china and cutlery was excellent. The staff were exceptional and our Vegetarian Afternoon Tea along with the best Scones and cakes I have tasted were perfect. In fact better than Fortnum and Mason. Will definitely come back again
Delightful experience with good food and champagne and excellent service.Stunning views. A tremendous treat.
Tasty food & great setting with views of the lawns.
An absolutely wonderful afternoon tea, will recommend!
The food and service were fantastic. Thank you! A lovely experience!
A fabulous afternoon in every way
We had a very enjoyable experience. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and it added to the experience to be given an anniversary card from you. It was the second time we have had afternoon tea with you, the last was for my wife's 60th bithday, maybe we should do this more often and not wait for special occasions.
Booking was for 2pm didn’t receive any food until 3pm. Bread had fennel seeds which I think needs to be flagged to people beforehand as this is such a specific and very divisive flavour - I couldn’t eat three of the four sandwiches.
The experience was excellent for a special birthday treat
Lovely tea with equal amounts of savory and sweet and views to die for!
Beautiful setting, excellent service, great selection of food ( although the lamb sausage roll was very dry), would have no problem in fully recommending the experience. Brilliant !
Very nice afternoon tea. Especially nice if you get the chance to sit in the window of the dining room. The views are spectacular and certainly make the experience. I have been a few times and really enjoy it. You can ask for refills of sandwiches and cakes at anytime. Highly recommend
