About The Granville
The Granville is a modern family dining pub just 10 minutes from Canterbury in the beautiful village of Lower Hardres. The Granville has carved out an excellent reputation for serving modern European food of the highest quality and is featured in The Good Food Guide and other major listings.
Full of character, The Granville is divided into a comfortable sofa area, a bar area and an eating area, with a central fireplace. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a patio area, where up to 40 customers can dine al fresco.
The bar serves traditional Kentish cask ale and distinctive international lagers and offers a good selection of wine by the glass.

First meal out since February 2020: what a great choice we made in booking at the Granville The meal was superb: we had the slow cooked pork and the grilled seabass for mains and the most divine lemongrass panacotta with coconut sorbet and lime shortbread for dessert. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. It all felt very safe. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.
A very enjoyable experience.
Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about the food or the wine. A shared platter of vegetables consisting of 4 tiny parsnips, finger bowl size peas and same form of a leak chessy dish. Yorkshire puddings hard as rock and a the puréed carrots were like slop. The wine was like vinegar and was awful.
Had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Granville. The service was brilliant, as was the food. Very good value for money. Will definitely be booking again.
First time at the Granville as we were on holiday near Canterbury. Due to current restrictions dining was outside and they have plenty of space. It was a bit chilly but worth it. Plenty of choices for Sunday lunch such as roasts, veggie curry, burger etc. Enough dessert choices such as cheesecake. Loved the food and plenty of it, definitely recommended.
Delicious Sunday Roast and very friendly service, we enjoyed our lunch very much!
Excellent food and service, enjoyed every last mouthful
Outside dining experience was very good, the only thing we would comment about is that the Nibbles starter only has 1 roll per dish and we ordered 2 for 3 people and there wasn't enough to go round. Apart from that food was good ;)
Brilliant service and great beer
Really enjoyed our meal! First time we have visited and we will be back for sure!! My only critic was that I feel the garden area didn’t do the food and service justice. I feel the garden could of done with some maintenance prior to opening as things like overgrown dead plants and dead patches of grass made it feel slightly worn down, and also that all the tables could of done with a parasol. However this takes nothing away from the superb food, we had the mezze, a burger and fish and chips! And the wine choice was lovely.
Evening meal in the garden with family whilst visiting Canterbury. Lovely location. Service was good and the food was delicious. Also very reasonably priced.
All very good thanks Tim was a excellent
Had a lovely meal in the garden. Service was very efficient and friendly.
Really enjoyed ourselves on Friday night. The meal was lovely and we are very glad you are doing the mezze boards again,
We were absolutely thrilled that The Granville was recommended to us at our accommodation. Can't say enough brilliant things about the service and the quality of the food. I wish we lived closer than a 5+ hour drive so we could visit more often!
Atmosphere usually great but seated outdoors a little chilly. Tim, Nichola and Ginny were excellent hosts, remembering our drinks preferences and having them ready on arrival! Service excellent, making guests feel part of 'the family'. Still our favourite venue after months of lockdown.
