Service desk and tents very good, shuttle service to the Festival superb. Service breakfast and dining could be better trained. Sometimes a little chaotic... Small breakfast buffet. Live lounge good with lounge music but way too loud with band. Not perfect enough for the price.
The experience of staying and eating at the GFH was overall excellent, it was just let down by slow and at times un-attentive service in the restaurant. Whilst no-one wants to be rushed through a meal, having to chase the waiting on staff for drinks, to take food orders, and to clear dirty plates away is somewhat frustrating. Doubtless frustrating for GFH as well as I'm sure if your staff had been more attentive staff we would we have drunk more and spent more!
Utterly brilliant ! Well organised Great friendly Staff Very Secure site Excellent people skills Job well Done great value for money only negative Gin and Tonics in the Gin Bar £12.50 very overpriced taking the Mick ! The Wine per glass at the restaurant Sauvignon Blanc not a good measure and again a ridiculous Price get that sorted for next year and 5 Stars will definitely be awarded I don’t mind the price to stay excellent tents Nice fluffy towels very very neat and tidy Job Well done great work Team Folley The buses to the circuit were excellent as were the security team !😀👍
Tent was sweltering hot. We had to wake up very early to get out as we were melting. Restaurant service was really poor. We waited 45 min to get 1 drink. Waitress gave us multiple strange excuses like "someone stole your drink off the bar" then she said "she put our order in at the wrong place". Once food arrived, they forgot to bring us some plates and I could not get anyone's attention to resolve the problem. The band was insanely loud. We saw the manager ask them to turn it down several times. We could not even speak to each other at the table. Other than the 2 things above it was a decent experience for camping. I would not stay again though.
Great hotel , run by great people who really care about their customer and listen . You’d struggle to beat it for the FoS . The facilities , food , service , staff and guests make it a few nights to look back on and enjoy . And no I’m not connected in any way !
I left feeling a bit disappointed by the dining experience here which is a shame as otherwise it was a lovely experience. The service at dinner/brekafast was a bit hit and miss, some of the staff were on it others seemed a few paces behind. I was certainly surprised to have water spilled on the table and then the jug slammed down without a word. And for there to be a long spell during breakfast when there were no plates at all for the hot food. My final criticism would be the drink prices, being charged £36 for two G&Ts (singles I might add) is simply daylight robbery. I will say positively though the musicians were great and the quality of the food itself, at dinner and breakfast was high.
A fantastic weekend at The Folly Hotel the food was slow but we where there for the night anyway. The quality of the food was excellent along with the staff serving it. Thank you GF hotel
Its well documented with Geoff that the service in the restaurant was poor. There were no managers about and no one taking control. It was a shame for the young team who were a little out of their depth. Food great though, even though it was a little expensive.
All staff were very pleasant and helpful
Location is excellent and the shuttle bus service makes getting to Goodwood events simple. Ideal if you don't have your own camping equipment or really dislike erecting tents! The standard of food in the evening was excellent but the service in the restaurants was poor. Friendly staff but poorly briefed. Drinks prices are on a par with central London. The breakfast offering was mediocre which was disappointing considering the standard of the evening meals. Toilet and shower facilities are superior on the Goodwood campsites. Also opt of a Goodwood site if you prefer a little more privacy and space. The tent layout at the Grand Folly is great if you are a party of 4 but is slightly awkward if you're a couple or pair if you want to sit outside your tent. Don't forget, it is camping so take a battery pack to charge your phone, plenty of bottled water and head torches for getting around the site at night.
