About The Golden Ball
Good British dining in a beautiful country pub. Prepared by a team of excellent chefs, that simply showcase the wonderful produce from Lancashire.
Service was a little rude at times. Please ask waiters and waitresses not to clearl plates until EVERYONE has finished eating. I do not blame them individually but the training needs some work I suspect Other than that, a fantastic evening and the food was excellent. We live very close to the pub and had not eaten there until very recently as a result of very mixed feedback from friends. However, we have eaten there 5 times since December and love it. Please keep up the good work!
A lovely welcoming atmosphere serving excellent food !
Great food, atmosphere and service in s pub which has become a real part of the village community. Well done Chris, Bex and all of your welcoming staff.
Excellent food and service would highly recommend
Came here after online search for dog friendly pubs - it did not disappoint- great value loads of choice, very good food great service, great with our dogs and their doggy Sunday roast. Excellent
Fabulous food and lovely atmosphere with friendly helpful staff plus very welcoming for our dogs
Great atmosphere, excellent food and impeccable customer service. What’s not to like! 5 star gastro pub without a doubt.
A FUNNY GREAT NIGHT
As always, great food and service enjoyed in a lovely atmosphere. Absolutely recommend a visit!
We had an amazing evening at the Golden Ball. The staff were so very friendly. No one rushed you to finish your meal. They had a lovely added touch for my Husband’s Birthday. It was so warm and welcoming there. The food was incredible, so good to see locally sourced produce and very reasonably priced too. Thank you
Food good and hot. Did give a discount code when booking but it was not applied to the bill.
Some basic stuff wrong this visit. The person we have the drinks order to did not seem to know the term “ Britvic” drink and then got the order wrong . The food order - one of the dishes we asked very clearly for sausage mash and gravy . What did we get ? Poor quality sausage and chips . The so called feather blade beef was tough as old boots . A poor experience for a family costing nearly £100. You can do better than this .
Very slow service ... both in terms of taking order and food appearing, but worth the wait particularly the Fish Pie 👍
Very friendly service, really helpful with good gluten free dishes, lots of choice which is unusual! Many thanks, we’ll be back soon.
We were attracted by the Fleetwood haddock on the menu and together with the Dickinsons chips it did not disappoint.
Best pub in Britain
Fabulous meal & great atmosphere.
Friendly service and a roaring fire together with good wholesome locally sourced food! Really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.
Lots of very well behaved dogs had brought their humans for a lovely Sunday lunch. The service was friendly and quick without being too rushed. The dogs make sure you will speak with strangers thus enhancing the whole experience.
Lovely meal. The dessert could have been a bit smaller.
Fabulous Christmas dinner. All 3 courses really tasty and served piping hot. Only negative is that at £65 a head I would have expected tea or coffee to be included in the price. We would definitely go again for Christmas dinner.
A truly fantastic Christmas dinner!
Great as always
Great place, superb food and a cosy friendly atmosphere - would definitely recommend this pub!
