Excellent food and lovely pub. Food took a bit longer than expected but suspect it was busy due the 50% off eat out help out scheme

It was a brilliant lunch - only problem was the sun was too hot!! We could have gone inside, but didn't want to waste the opportunity of sitting out in the sun. Service was excellent despite the heat and the food was superb. A great lunch - thank you

We found the service rather poor ie waiting a long time for anyone to take our order. However, the food was very good when it came and the garden seating well arranged.

This was the first time we had been out for a meal since the beginning of Covid. We were concerned about social distancing, tables seemed too close together, waitresses had no face masks and came too close to tables when taking the orders. My husbands burger was ok, but my fish and chips was soggy instead of crispy and not at all apetising. All in all, not a very good experience.

Very attentive friendly staff. Arrived early which wasn’t a problem. We had a lovely meal and bottle of wine. All served promptly. I will definitely be returning soon.

The atmosphere was much better the first time we came as we were able to sit outside . This week it was raining a bit so sat inside. This would have been better if the windows were open.

There were children jumping up and down on the table next to us which made us feel uncomfortable - parents should be advised to keep their children under control and to remain seated - these were not very young children and should have been able to sit in their seat.

Lovely meal. Everything well run overall. We’re asked for drinks order without seeing menu though so just a little surprised to see nearly £20 on bill for 2 glasses of wine but didn’t detract from the evening in any way and overall for our first meal out since lockdown I’m we were very happy, will go again and would recommend to anyone.

We came to dine the first night of Eat Out to Help Out and I can imagine it may have been difficult to know how busy the pub was going to be. I’m glad that we booked, however service was a bit on the slow side - we asked for extra condiments and drinks during the meal but never got them. We also ordered desserts and sat at the table for 15 minutes before it became clear that they hadn’t been ordered. The food tasted good but the burger buns weren’t very fresh. I would go again but there are some things that could do with improving.
