About 50 Bistro
Located on the ground floor of The George at the convergence of Park Terrace and Peterborough Street 50 Bistro spans three interconnected rooms and offers an intimate place to meet, a light filled conservatory with a living wall for outdoor dining and a stylish indoor 'neo-bistro' restaurant serving up modern New Zealand cuisine.
Our Executive Chef Antony Page, leads the cuisine team assisted by his talented team, Executive Sous Chef designing seasonal menus using the best of local produce, as well as health-wise cuisine options.
The stylish interior flows out to a generous conservatory, complete with a living wall, fire tables that reflect the warm hues of the orange onyx wall inside, making 50 Bistro the perfect place to meet any time of the day for coffee, cocktails and bar snacks or a meal.
Picture windows overlook Hagley Park, make 50 Bistro the ideal spot to start any day. Lunchtime brings with it a buzzy vibe offering great versatility and value with a selection of light meals and salads in addition to entrées and grills and desserts. Evenings bring heartier comfort dishes and a warm ambience, perfect for relaxing with friends.
Service was good and prompt, I really enjoyed my meal and would be happy to return
Absolutely great food and wine
Excellent meal and service. Trish and Jason were A+
I was very impressed with their service!
Lovely atmosphere and very comfortable chairs (my husband has a health issue and cannot sit for long on hard chairs) food excellent.
As always, lovely staff and absolutely awesome food.
Superbly cooked and presented fish main. Attentive staff.
Very professional and friendly staff. Excellent service and food presentation and flavours divine! Will come again.
Staff were attentive and thoughtful. Superb cuisine
Great service. Menu was good (as always) and the children’s menu was better than my 12 yr old son expected (high praise from him, he likes to graduate to the main menu). Team took care of the table really well, and a nice touch with the cake and candle.
Beautiful food and a stunning outlook.
So far the best High Tea we have had in Christchurch.
Fantastic attentive service, delicious menu, in particular the desserts are an artistic masterpiece!!
Lovely meal with faultless service. Beautiful view of Hagley Park. Would go again.
Excellent food, especially the smoked eel dish, and professional friendly staff. Great location Thank you
Dined here (as First Table guests). We had a lovely evening and both service and food were excellent.
Food and service excellent. Portions generous. Petit four plate wishing us a happy anniversary was nice surprise, a lovely ending to a special evening.
Lovely surprise to have a sweet plate come out with Happy Anniversary on it to go with our coffee. Much appreciated. Great service
Booked on First Table to catch up with friends straight after work. Food was great (steaks and lamb) and service was the best. Helpful but not intrusive. Definitely recommend.
Great meals. Steak cooked perfectly. Thanks
Fantastic experience! Amazing food and service.
Couldn’t have picked a nicer place to have a night away

We were delighted with the way our little 80th birthday celebration for two friends was handled - and so were they! Everyone enjoyed their meals, and commented very favorably on the menu choice and the pleasant service. We stayed for a long time chatting and although all the other lunch guests had left, no-one made us feel we were outstaying our welcome. The Maitre D and our waitress Robbyn could not have been more helpful.
A most rnjoyable experience. 3 courses and coffee is not too much. Most personable staff, light & friendly, stylish. High expectations realised. Nice burthday touch. Thank you all. Barry P.
