About The General Tarleton Inn
The General Tarleton is an 18th Century Coaching Inn set in the village of Ferrensby, a stones throw from Knaresborough and 5 miles from Harrogate. The restaurant serves excellent seasonal, locally sourced food, great wine and local ales. With a helpful and friendly team we have created somewhere that is warm, welcoming, honest and individual.
Very good experience all round
Staff always pleasant and food tasty. Only one thing I would say is that the chef did a different version/take on the belly pork main and be totally honest it was nowhere near as good/tasty as the previous version which was eating perfection.
Service was spot-on. Food was delicious. Really hard working staff who couldn't do enough to create the best experience.
Always a great place
A very pleasant lunchtime experience.
Great food but not enough service staff.
Sadly the facilities are very challenging for anyone with mobility issues, especially the toilets. Surprising in this day and age that there is still such inaccessibility in a restaurant
When we arrived at 730 for pre dinner drinks the girl behind the bar was rude To my wife and I like we were not welcome there and we should not be there it was her attitude was all wrong but over all it was ok
Absolutely delicious food. I had the liver. Best ever. Perfect portion. Service was good. We will be back
Excellent service, very friendly and accommodating staff. The food is of exceptional standard with quality ingredients and even on a Sunday lunch, the choice is good. The surroundings are extremely tasteful and there's a lovely walled garden with seating. We'll definitely be back!
Amazing food! Have loved every single time I have been!
Excellent staff - friendly and attentive. Can’t fault them
