Had a great evening and great service
Great food and service very enjoyable experience will go again
Service was attentive and friendly.
Hidden gem in CBD
In a word, Delicious!! The menu has 4 entrees, 4 mains and 2 desserts and that's all it needed. It looked simple, but when the food arrived it looked beautiful and it tasted fantastic. I lovely combination of textures and flavours, none of which over powered the other. Located in an old building which provided a lovely atmosphere of comfort and elegance. Highly recommend this, really lovely experience.
Food was lovely. Staff were friendly. We will be back again
delicious food, really cool building and excellent service! they even accommodated us with a surprise birthday candle for our birthday guest. would happily return or recommend to others
Beautiful plates of food and attentive staff. Will be back soon
I rated lower for atmosphere because the restaurant was empty. there needs to be more advertising that this is a new restaurant and not the one that came after the wine chambers which was not good.
Great food, good selection of wine, well done! Place needs deco, white table linens, etc that wows the diner as soon as he/she arrives. When we arrived nobody was in the front. Could have been 4 to 5 minutes wait before we decided to make a little noise to be noticed. Lady serving very polite & did a good job.
Lovely food and great service.
our first visit since it has been The General and we really enjoyed as much as The Wine Chamber which we visited a lot in the past
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was good and decor lovely as it is located in a historic building.
decent place for a private dinner. good service. food not as awesome as I expected
Broken chairs and dirty cups. Shrimps were frozen pre-peeled. Pasta was not fresh. Desserts tasted like supermarket bought.
Food was great and comparable to other restaurants in that range, it was a wet Wednesday evening so not many people were out and about dining so probably not a lot of people out dining generally.
Fantastic food. The brown butter was absolutely delicious as was the ash crusted John Dory. A rare gastronomic gem in downtown Auckland.
We enjoyed having the private room for only 5 of us and the food and service were good overall. The chocolate fondants were a big fail in that most of them were overcooked and the portion size was very underwhelming for $20.
Great food and service. Nice rustic ambiance.
An average experience
Lovely place and food. Very quiet
The food was fantastic! I will definitely be recommending people to come here. I don't think we would be able to afford this place without First Table so that was a plus.
The entree was not bad at all. The main dish was really good especially the chicken, but the steal from my partner was hard. The dessert was only one option or cheese (i don’t know if cheese belongs in there). The apple crumble doesn’t make you feel wow. Its just dice green apple with crumble and small vanilla ice cream on top and its too simple and easy. The worst thing was the main dish arrived 1hr after the entree. Theres only 1front of house who everything and feels like 1chef for back of the house.
Really poor service, food was not great but not bad.
Great atmosphere with very friendly Kumar. Good service. Food portions were just right.
